Scams are everywhere.

Beware of discord.

Discord is a great tool for building communities and organizing groups of people to do anything.

The majority of active crypto users are either on discord or telegram.

I know it.
You know it and what's worse, the scammers know it.

Barely a day goes by without receiving a scam message in discord. They get lists of users from active crypto discords and spam everybody. It doesn't take much effort and I'm sure that they keep getting people to fall for it or they wouldn't keep doing it.

Most are the basic type,

It turns out that i have won 1.89 ETH. How luck is that. I have won almost 10k from a group that i have never heard of and competition that i never entered.

Easy to spot the fakes.
Then this morning I received a slightly better one.

This one was for @splinterlands. A game that I play and a discord that I have joined. They have the proper discord channel and twitter account for the game and they don't just pretend that i have won the money.

They are offering a good deal. Buy $SPS a legit token that is currently on sale and that i know about for a game that i play and interact with on discord.

Much more believable.

Still a scam.

I know that it's a scam because I know that everything is a scam.

This one is a lot more dangerous though as it is believable.

If i was a new player that didn't fully know about the token and the exchanges and the fact that splinterlands will never host an offer of this sort then it would be easy to click the link and lose my funds.

Everything is a scam.

If you get a random message its a scam.

If you didn't enter a competition then its a scam.

If you don't know them then it's a scam.

Basically everything that comes your way is a scam until proven otherwise.

Stay safe out there and do your research before getting involved with anything. Learn from all of mistakes up until now and protect your accounts.

It can still happen to you but try to stay safe out there. There are scams everywhere.

The mother of scammers is always pregnant. I'm hit by plenty of these on Twitter.

Remember these words when you receive an unsolicited message

"Out the blue? Not for you!"

A lot of scams everywhere.

I usually just ignore most times tho..

Most people fall for scam because of greed.

I guess the best way of not falling for a scams is to avoid being greedy.

Don't send money to where you don't have any information about

If they do anything it's a scam scam scam. Lol. Wow. We should have a meme for this. Perhaps an NFT too for scammers. Maybe wired with some anti-virus or whatever it is that can disable a scammer. Lol. That'd be hilarious.

Discord has become a scam fest ever since we entered the bull cycle. As soon as you ask a question at least 3 scam bots will offer their help in your DMs. I can only imagine how many new people got scammed hard by "Metamask support" on Discord and Twitter alone.

I haven't seen that part but ive heard of a few people that got caught with it. Mostly new users giving out their seed phrases.

It's a dangerous world out there.

I get a few of those every week and I know that most of them are scams. Also you shouldn't download any files either as I recall there being software that can steal your discord account. If I recall, I think I have seen them being thrown out on the messages where they want you as a beta tester for a game.

The worst part is how some people think they can get rich like this. That there are ways to get money for nothing.

You can earn it but nobody gives it out for free.

If they approach you it is always a scam. I am seeing quite a lot of the wanna help you invest messages on discord where they pretend they also want to be your friend. Amateurish stuff but it only has to work every now and then for them to be laughing

I know that it's a scam because I know that everything is a scam.

Words to live by.

The majority of active crypto users are either on discord or telegram.

I’m part of the minority who are on neither. I get plenty of scam enticements in emails and texts, don’t need more of them.

Yes, Scams are everywhere and we get it everyday.
I should have been a very rich person by now if that emails / messages would have been true.
it's better to ignore them and never click on any email links which you are not sure of.
I do get messages from people in discord i don't know, i just cancel or close them.

That second one could have gotten me had I not yet first read this post. I was surprised by the amount of Spam on discord. You would think that there would be bots to go through the system and eradicate the scammers.

Never click links from people you don't know. Check all links to make sure they go to the app you are trying to get to. Its sad that some people feel the need to scam but they are out there. Stay safe everyone!
