Thinking about the future and where to go.

Just making the most of what is in front of me.

As part of the writing experience it's important to keep putting it out there. The more that you write the more comfortable that you get with the writing process.

I would not be a very public person. I have friends, very good and very close friends but there would not be a huge amount of them. I never wanted or needed lots of people in my life. I prefer to keep it small and personal. I like the quieter nights where you can enjoy yourself without trying to impress others.

I'm happy in my own skin and don't need to put on a show or to get reassurance from others. So the friends that i do let in are very close to me.

That makes it hard to write as writing is sharing. It's probably why i prefer fantasy or fiction. Get lost in a different world. One where the people and the problems aren't real and therefore can be shared.

Writing your own truth can be a tough experience even when it is nothing to hide. I think that to write something more that you would need to put a lot of yourself into it.

I might have to go back to real employment at some stage but i have always wanted to make a living from writing and alternative methods. I have a chance at the moment to do so but it's no guarantee.

The smart play would be to use this time to write for myself as well as for the community. Write some books and some stories. Get them up for sale and try to start earning some passive income for my work.

Hive is great and especially to practice but it would be even better if i could put the focus into something more. Something lasting and something real.

I think that for it to work that i would have to get uncomfortable and to share a lot more of myself and of my thoughts. For too long i have kept them back where they are safe. Watching my words and playing safe zones. Safe for myself. Safe for others and safe for my thoughts.

Nothing ventured, nothing risked.

It's how i have always operated.

These posts are all steps on the right path and with every step forward its another one closer to the end finish line.

Earlier today i wrote about planning and structure. Combine that with writing freely and thoughtfully and i might get somewhere good. I will never know until i try. My last attempt ended in failure after spending two years jumping in and out of a terrible fantasy novel.

The idea was good but it was written badly, never finished and edited multiple times. I don't regret it though. It was time well spent as it increased my love of reading and writing. It was just one more step forward.

Now onto the next one. For now it's writing more often and more thoughtfully. Then we will see if that can lead to more.

I've also been trying to write fiction to make some side income as well. It's been years and I've yet to finish one book.
It's good to know there's someone out there on a similar journey.
