Hello, nice people of Hive!

I've been sick, terribly sick, after spending several days with the flu, I'm currently under treatment for conjunctivitis, so my defenses and my spirits are not at 100% for almost anything... Since I can't do many things without feeling dizzy or weak (that includes drawing, to my misfortune), I've had a lot of time to watch series and movies (something that, in my normal routine, I hardly do). Surfing Youtube I found a series that attracted me a lot because of the animation, I didn't even read the review of it, I went in to watch the first pilot episode and I liked the animation aesthetics and the scenarios so much (I was feeling a bit disoriented with the plot still) that I decided to go ahead with it.

The series is called Bee and Puppy Cat. Today I want to share with you my opinion of it.

With chapters lasting 6 minutes (more or less) This series is full of adventures on earth and in space. Bee needs money to pay for rent and food, luckily, Puppy Cat is a kind of alien who is in charge of doing missions in other planets and dimensions, that's how she starts helping Puppy Cat and at the end of these missions, they are rewarded with some bills.

Some other characters we will meet will be Deckard, a boy who likes Bee (and she likes him), who enjoys cooking, his sister Cass, a programmer, a mature person who always advises Deckard and encourages him to enter the cooking school; Cardamon, a little boy who takes care of Bee and Deckard's rent, lives with his little dog and his mother, but she seems to be in a coma.

We will know the story of our characters little by little, some details are subtly revealed, so you have to be attentive or you will skip some information. It has funny scenes, Bee is a carefree young adult, she has a hard time keeping a job and has a bad tempered alien dog cat as a pet -or tenant, rather- in her house, that fact already sounds funny in itself. Although it also has a couple of scenes that might make you stop the video and rewind to get a good understanding of what happened, because you weren't expecting it or it wasn't what you saw coming.

Although the premise of the series is quite simple, it has a couple of things or more that will make us get attached to it, among them we find:

Bee and Deckard's (not very obvious) romance. Deckard is very talented in the kitchen, however, he is hesitant to send his letter to cooking school for fear of leaving Bee, he worries about her a lot and is afraid to leave her alone, even though he knows she would be very happy for him to go for her dreams.

Bee and Puppy Cat's relationship. These two characters are very different, Bee is charming, friendly, and supportive to people, she seems to be always happy, while Puppy Cat, although she looks very adorable, is usually grumpy and sometimes rude, speaks a strange language and doesn't like to deal with strangers; but these differences make them have a special bond, more than a pet, Puppy Cat is a friend to Bee.

Cardamon's life is difficult. His mother is in a coma, so he only has his little dog to keep him company.... He leaves plates full of candy (it seems to be the only thing he feeds on) in her room every day in the hope that she will wake up. I could tell how long he had been alone by the amount of clutter and garbage in the scenes inside his house, very sad, really.

Bee is a very special girl. I don't want to tell you exactly why, as it's a fact that impacts the story and it's nicer when you find out for yourself. She is kind, caring, and loyal to her friends. She loves to eat, and she doesn't like to celebrate her birthday. She had recurring nightmares, but since Puppy Cat came into her life, these were dispersed, I want to take this as a synonym that since she is with Puppy Cat she felt safe and accompanied again.

Bee's home room.

The animation is a visual delight. The scenery is beautiful, very detailed, it seems that everything in it is very well thought out, the color palette is harmonious (where pastel shades are usually appreciated) and varies according to the context.

The animation reminds me a lot of Adventure Time and Steven Univers, and, in fact, doing some research, I found that this story was created by Natasha Allegri, animator of the Adventure Time team; it is also directed by Larry Leichliter, who has a very broad portfolio in directing animated series and movies.

It is a very entertaining story to watch, in my case, I watched it twice, because the end left me with more questions than answers given, so the second time I was more attentive and caught many winks and details that at first I had not paid attention. I would have liked to see more Bee and Deckard scenes, I feel like it would have been really nice to see that romance grow, but, BUT, I've heard it has a second season, so I'll take it upon myself to look for it and see what happens with Bee's love life, what happens with Cardamon's mom and see more fun missions from our main characters.

I feel that Bee and Puppy Cat's story is promising, it has something special and interesting about it. It's a series I would recommend everyone to watch because it doesn't cost any time at all (I watched the whole season in 90 minutes, might as well watch a movie in that time too) and even if for one reason or another you don't connect with the story, it's a lot of fun to watch, so it's worth it.

He estado enferma, terriblemente enferma, después de pasar varios días con gripe, actualmente estoy bajo tratamiento por conjuntivitis, así que mis defensas y mis ánimos no están al 100% para casi nada... Navegando por Youtube encontré una serie que me atrajo mucho por la animación, ni siquiera leí la reseña de esta, entré a ver el primer episodio piloto y me gustó tanto la estética de la animación y los escenarios (me sentía un poco desorientada con la trama aún) que decidí seguir adelante con ella.

La serie se llama Bee and Puppy Cat. Hoy les quiero compartir mi opinión de ella.

Con capítulos de una duración de 6 minutos (más o menos) Esta serie está llena de aventuras en la tierra y en el espacio. Bee necesita dinero para pagar la renta y comida, por suerte, Puppy Cat es una especie de alienígena que se encarga de hacer misiones en otros planetas y dimensiones, es así como ella empieza a ayudar a Puppy Cat y al final de estas misiones, son recompensados con algunos billetes.

Algunos otros personajes que encontraremos serán Deckard, un muchacho que gusta de Bee (y ella de él), que disfruta cocinar, su hermana Cass, programadora, una persona madura que siempre aconseja a Deckard y lo anima a entrar a la escuela de cocina; Cardamon, un pequeño que se encarga del alquiler de Bee y Deckard, vive con su perrito y su madre, pero ella parece estar en coma.

Conoceremos la historia de nuestros personajes poco a poco, algunos detalles son sutilmente revelados, así que hay que estar atento o te saltarás algún dato. Tiene escenas graciosas, Bee es una joven adulta despreocupada, le cuesta mantener un trabajo y tiene un gato perro alienígena con mal carácter de mascota -o inquilino, mejor dicho- en su casa, ese hecho ya suena gracioso de por sí. Aunque también tiene un par de escenas que quizá te hagan detener el vídeo y retroceder para entender bien lo que pasó, porque no te lo esperabas o no era lo que veías venir.

Aunque la premisa de la serie es bastante simple, tiene un par de cosas o más que nos hará encariñarnos con ella, entre ellas encontramos:

El romance (no muy obvio) de Bee y Deckard. Deckard es muy talentoso en la cocina, sin embargo, está indeciso de enviar su carta a la escuela de cocina por miedo a dejar a Bee, se preocupa mucho por ella y teme dejarla sola, aunque sabe que a ella le alegraría mucho que él fuera por sus sueños.

La relación de Bee y Puppy Cat. Estos dos personajes son muy diferentes, Bee es encantadora, amigable, y solidaria con las personas, parece siempre estar feliz, mientras Puppy Cat, aunque se vea muy adorable, suele ser gruñón y a veces maleducado, habla un idioma extraño y no le gusta tratar con desconocidos; pero estas diferencias los hace tener un lazo especial, más que una mascota, Puppy Cat es un amigo para Bee.

La vida de Cardamon, es difícil. Su madre está en coma, así que solo tiene a su perrito para que le haga compañía... Le deja platos llenos de dulces (parece ser lo único de lo que se alimenta) en su habitación todos los días con la esperanza que ella se despierte. Pude notar el tiempo que llevaba solo por la cantidad de desorden y basura que había en las escenas dentro de su casa, algo muy triste, la verdad.

Bee es una chica muy especial. No quiero decirles exactamente por qué, pues es un hecho que impacta en la historia y es más bonito cuando lo descubres por ti mismo. Ella es amable, solidaria y leal a sus amigos. Ama comer, y no le gusta festejar su cumpleaños. Tenía recurrentes pesadillas, pero desde que llegó Puppy Cat a su vida, estas se dispersaron, quiero tomar esto como sinónimo de que desde que está con Puppy Cat se volvió a sentir segura y acompañada.

La animación es un deleite visual. Los escenarios son preciosos, muy detallados, parece que todo en él está muy bien pensado, la paleta de colores es armónica (dónde se suele apreciar tonos pastel) y varía según el contexto.

La animación me recuerda mucho a la de Hora de Aventura y la de Steven Univers, y, de hecho, investigando un poco, encontré que esta historia fue creada por Natasha Allegri, animadora del equipo de Hora de Aventura; también está dirigido por Larry Leichliter, el cual cuenta con un portafolio muy amplio en dirección en series y peliculas animadas.

Es una historia muy entretenida de ver, en mi caso, la vi dos veces, pues el final me dejó con más preguntas que respuestas dadas, así que la segunda vez estuve más atenta y capté muchos guiños y detalles que en un principio no había prestado atención. Me hubiera gustado ver más escenas de Bee y Deckard, siento que hubiera sido muy lindo ver crecer ese romance, pero, PERO, he escuchado que cuenta con una segunda temporada, así que me encargaré de buscarla y ver qué pasa con la vida amorosa de Bee, qué pasa con la mamá de Cardamon y ver más misiones divertidas de nuestros protagonistas.

Siento que la historia de Bee y Puppy Cat es prometedora, tiene algo especial e interesante. Es un serie que recomendaría a todo el mundo ver porque no cuesta nada de tiempo (ví la temporada entera en 90 minutos, bien podría ver una película en ese tiempo también) y aunque por una razón u otra no conectes con la historia, es muy divertida de ver, así que vale la pena.

Si te interesa, acá te comparto el episodio piloto de la serie EN ESPAÑOL. Como dato curioso, la serie fue lanzada varios años después, así que la animación fue cambiada.
