Hello, helloooo, pretty people of the internet.
It's finally Friday, although I don't feel so happy because I still have a few papers due from the university so probably my weekend will be summed up in trying to get out of all that mountain of activities... But well, the positive side is that I feel productive in terms of the time I have dedicated to drawing this week, since I showed you my last drawing link here, I have tried to follow tips from several digital art artists to improve the finish of my semi-realistic works.
This week I realized that I must continue with the series of fairy drawings, so this time I thought of drawing the face of a sweet little girl.
Process:
Although I wanted to make a drawing with some semi-realistic details, I made the structure of this girl's face cartoonish, I like the eyes to be big and the nose tiny, I feel it makes the face look more adorable.
Over time I have learned that painting the background first with a base color makes it easier to color the skin and other elements of the main character, because based on the background color we can play with colors and light.
Starting to add the tones for the shades and shadows of the skin is a step that sometimes makes me hesitate because the whole drawing depends on it, so I must be guided by some extra reference image of anatomy to locate well the highest points of the face and where the light should bounce or, on the contrary, where the shadows are projected.
I'm still learning to work with the dropper and the opacity of the brushes to blur the colors of the skin, I've learned that from time to time I have to move the canvas away to be able to see more widely how the drawing is going (sometimes it goes very well, other times I have to take a breath and spend more time to perfect some details).
I felt that things finally started to go right when I started to detail the hair and the eyes, now I really saw hope that this drawing would turn out well (for a moment I thought about leaving it aside :c).
And that's how I finished it. I added a backlight effect using the layer in Linear Overexposure mode, and I also decided to draw small flowers as a crown on the head of this little fairy girl.
Why do you think she has that expression on her face? is she upset about something?

Hola, holaaa, gente linda de internet.
Por fin es viernes, aunque no me siento tan feliz porque aún tengo unos cuantos trabajos por entregar de la universidad así que probablemente mi fin de semana se resuma en tratar de salir de toda esa montaña de actividades… Pero bueno, el lado positivo es que me siento productiva en cuanto al tiempo que le he dedicado al dibujo esta semana, desde que les mostré mi último dibujo link aquí, he tratado de seguir tips de varios artistas del arte digital para mejorar el acabado de mis trabajos semirrealistas.
Esta semana caí en cuenta que debo seguir con la serie de dibujos de hadas, así que se me ocurrió esta vez dibujar el rostro de una dulce niña.
Proceso:
Si bien quería hacer un dibujo con algunos detalles semirrealistas, la estructura del rostro de esta niña la hice caricaturesca, me gusta que los ojos sean grandes y la nariz pequeñita, siento que hace que el rostro se vea más adorable.
Con el tiempo he aprendido que pintar primero el fondo con un color base hace que sea más fácil colorear la piel y otros elementos del personaje principal, ya que en base al color de fondo podremos jugar con los colores y la luz.
Empezar a añadir los tonos para los matices y sombras de la piel es un paso que en ocasiones me hace dudar porque de eso depende todo el dibujo, así que debo guiarme de alguna imagen de referencia extra de anatomía para ubicar bien los puntos más altos del rostro y donde la luz debería rebotar o, por el contrario, donde se proyectan las sombras.
Aún estoy aprendiendo a trabajar con el cuenta gotas y la opacidad de los pinceles para difuminar los colores de la piel, he aprendido que de vez en cuando debo alejar el lienzo para poder ver con más amplitud cómo va quedando el dibujo (a veces va muy bien, otras veces tengo que tomar aire y dedicar más tiempo a perfeccionar algunos detalles).
Sentí que las cosas finalmente empezaron a ir por buen camino cuando empecé a detallar el cabello y los ojos, ahora sí veía esperanzas en que este dibujo resultaría bien (por un momento pensé en dejarlo de lado :c).
Y así fue como lo terminé. Añadí un efecto de luces de fondo usando la capa en modo Sobreexposición Lineal, y también decidí dibujar pequeñas flores a modo de corona sobre la cabeza de esta niña hada.
¿ustedes por qué creen que tendrá esa expresión en el rostro? ¿estará molesta por algo?
