Exploring new art with markers! // Explorando nuevo arte con marcadores!

I've been playing with a new drawing technique and I feel delighted with it, this is based on coloring or adding some details with markers... I have always liked to have markers in my drawing arsenal, previously I used to use them a lot to make calligraphies and decorate the covers of my school notebooks, but I had not investigated techniques to use them for coloring my drawings.

I have had the markers I own for a year or so, both boxes contain similar colors but what differentiates them is the softness of the filter of their tips. On the one hand, the Crayola markers have a wide, sturdy tip and the colors are bright, they are very comfortable for coloring large areas.

On the other hand, Pointer markers have a softer and thinner tip, they are better to use for lettering, but what I like about them is that I can match their colors much better.

I have been combining this technique with ballpoint pen to highlight some important lines and with a little ink corrector I like to add some shimmers.

I discovered that if I work in layers with the same color and then with some other similar color (for example, pink and red, or yellow and green) I can generate shades with a very interesting texture.

It is worth mentioning that the paper I am drawing on has a great influence on the finish of the drawing, I think that if I used a thinner sheet it would not resist the layers of ink and it would create spots or ripples on the paper, which is not pleasant.

So far I have only made these small drawings and what I like about this technique is that I feel more freedom when it comes to coloring and highlighting only certain areas
(for example, for the characters I'm only detailing the hair, leaving the skin almost without color). They are quick sketches, so I feel more concerned about the style or the expression I want to convey through the colors than about drawing every detail correctly... I feel that I can develop a new style if I continue to practice.

After several days, this has been my report here. I'm still alive, just that classes haven't left me much time to share content with you :((

He estado jugando con una nueva técnica de dibujo y me siento encantada con ella, esta se basa en colorear o añadir algunos detalles con marcadores... Siempre me ha gustado tener entre mi arsenal de dibujo marcadores, anteriormente solía usarlos mucho para hacer caligrafías y decorar las portadas de mis cuadernos de escuela, pero no había indagado técnicas para usarlos para colorear mis dibujos.

Los marcadores que poseo los tengo desde hace un año, más o menos, ambas cajas contienen colores similares pero lo que los diferencian es la suavidad del filtro de sus puntas. Por un lado, los marcadores Crayola tienen una punta ancha y resistente y los colores son brillantes, son muy cómodos para colorear zonas grandes.

Por otro lado, los marcadores de la marca Pointer tienen una punta más suave y delgada, son mejores para usarlos al hacer lettering, pero lo que me gusta de ellos es que puedo combinar sus colores mucho mejor.

Esta técnica la he estado combinando con bolígrafo para resaltar algunas líneas importantes y con un poco de corrector de tinta me gusta añadir algunos brillos.

Descubrí que si trabajo por capas con un mismo color y luego con algún otro color similar (por ejemplo, rosado y rojo, o amarillo y verde) puedo generar matices con una textura muy interesante.

Cabe resaltar que el papel donde estoy dibujando influye mucho en el acabado del dibujo, creo que si usara una hoja más delgada no resistiría las capas de tinta y se crearían manchones u ondulaciones en el papel, lo cual no es agradable.

Hasta el momento solo he realizado estos pequeños dibujos y lo que me ha gustado de esta técnica es que me siento con mayor libertad a la hora de colorear y resaltar solo ciertas zonas
(por ejemplo, para los personajes solo estoy detallando el cabello, dejando la piel casi sin color). Son bocetos rápidos, así que me siento más preocupada por el estilo o la expresión que quiero transmitir a través de los colores que por dibujar cada detalle correctamente... Considero que puedo desarrollar un nuevo estilo si continuo practicando.
