Hello everyone :)) Happy start of the week.
Finally I will be able to show you my entry for this week's challenge, I wanted to do it last week, but I had setbacks and couldn't finish it, but here I am again.
My inspiration to do my fan art this week was this jester. A part of me wanted to draw him because I think he is a characteristic character of Halloween, and considering that not long ago I did a drawing with this theme... I didn't think too much about it.
Something characteristic of this character is that he is a guard of the Dark Lord, his family was killed so that memory torments him and fills him with rage... This little story seemed to me a very good concept on which to draw inspiration. I hope you enjoy the process:
I thought about doing this character with that almost playful pose, like the clowns in the animated series that come out of the box to surprise the kids... For the sketch I had to do a few studies of the body with the pose I wanted him to have because for some reason I felt I wasn't making the character proportionate.
Once I was satisfied with the sketch, I outlined and colored with the colors of the original character, I really liked his design so I just coupled it a little to my style.
I added some basic shadows and glows and then thought about the background color and what I could do on it. I thought some skull fireballs would be interesting to integrate into the drawing... kind of like the souls this jester carries around and plays with, or something like that. As the drawing progressed I changed some details to go along with the color palette of the scene.
I needed to add some more elements to the background to show depth, so I ended up adding one more layer of burning flames and a spiral as a reference to the tricks and surprises that these characters usually elaborate.
And this was the final result. It doesn't have the Halloween style that at first I thought it would inspire me, but I like the result, what do you think?

Hola a todooos. Feliz inicio de semana.
Finalmente podré mostrarles mi participación para el reto de esta semana, quería hacerlo la semana pasada, pero tuve contratiempos y no pude terminarlo... pero aquí estoy otra vez. :)
Mi inspiración para hacer mi fan art esta semana fue este bufón. Una parte de mí quiso dibujarlo porque creo que es un personaje característico del Halloween, y teniendo en cuenta que no hace mucho tiempo hice un dibujo con esta temática… pues no lo pensé demasiado
Algo característico de este personaje es que es un guardia del Señor Oscuridad, su familia fue asesinada así que ese recuerdo lo atormenta y lo llena de rabia… Esta pequeña historia me pareció muy buen concepto sobre el cual inspirarme. Espero que disfruten del proceso:
Pensé en hacer este personaje con esa pose casi juguetona, como los payasos de las series animadas que salen de la caja para sorprender a los niños… Para el boceto tuve que hacer unos cuantos estudios del cuerpo con la pose que quería que tuviera porque por alguna razón sentía que no estaba haciendo el personaje proporcionado.
Una vez me sentí satisfecha con el boceto, delineé y coloreé con los colores del personaje original, me gustó mucho su diseño así que solo lo acoplé un poco a mi estilo.
Añadí algunas sombras y brillos básicos y luego pensé en el color de fondo y lo que podría hacer en él. Pensé que unas bolas de fuego de calaveras serían interesantes para integrar al dibujo… algo así como las almas que este bufón carga consigo y juega con ellas, o algo por el estilo.
Conforme fui avanzando el dibujo fui cambiando algunos detalles para que siguieran con la paleta de colores de la escena.
Necesitaba añadir algunos elementos más al fondo para que se viera profundidad en él, así que terminé por añadir una capa más de llamas ardientes y un espiral como referencia a los engaños y sorpresas que estos personajes suelen elaborar.
Y este fue el resultado final. No tiene el estilo de Halloween que en un principio pensé en inspirarme, pero me agrada el resultado, ¿ustedes qué opinan?
