SNOW and CANDLESTICK for Photochain Challenge 94 📷⛓

avatar

Hello, Friends!

It's time again for another fun round of the PhotoChain Challenge!

The KEY-SUBJECTS for this week are ''SNOW' and 'CANDLESTICK'

All of the photographs included in my entry for this week's contest were taken at the delightful, aroma filled Bath & Body Works store located in Chesterfield, MO when I went shopping. For two days Bath & Body Works has their annual Candle Day. It's over online but you can still shop in stores to purchase their fragrant 3-wick candles for $10.25 USD.

Does a single snowflake by a candlestick count? No, you say? I'll try harder...

img_0.48705260237984493.jpg
Okay, I'll take a few steps back. There's snow in the framed picture and many candles!

How about these lovely candles and a shiny "snow" covered Christmas tree? Still not buying it, eh?

img_0.9202821297672122.jpg
Here you go! Definitely found candlesticks AND snow! The next image is my entry to the contest.

Ah candles, the perfect addition to the season of joy, love and giving. Christmas is almost here! What's that scent of that last candle Campfire D.... I couldn't make out of it. I'm sure it smells good.
I'm not sure if you still remember me but I still remember you. See you around Nina. Cheers!

Super! Another "thinking-out-of-the-box" solution to the Challenge. Great choice for your entry. I also fancy the first one with just a single snow flake. I wanted to do the same but unfortunately I couldn't find our last Christmas' snowflakes. My wife must have given them away. Good luck with this entry.

Yes and the days in December are flying by so fast now! Thankfully we are having a pattern of 3-4 warmer than average days followed by a few colder days, then back to warm again. Not sure how long it will last but it's definitely welcome

holiday mood ON:)
are candles expensive in your place?
is it an oblifatory accessory for Chritmas?
In Russia we don't use them often for holidays, in churches they are used much more, but I do like the atmosphere the create.
And again about Slavic traditions - candkes are VERY iseful for home energy because they clean it well and "burn" all evil away. I need to buy some for sure!:)

Apologies for the delayed reply!
Scented candles are burned all year round in the USA for their therapeutic benefits to help relax and to create a warm, inviting look in your home as you said. Candle jars are even more popular in the Fall and are a welcome Christmas present. While not obligatory, most houses light candles during Christmas. We even have "fake" candles. Instead of a wick and wax they are made with a battery operated LED light. It's always good to have candles handy in case there's an electrical outage and you need some light in the house. Depending on where you purchase candles, the size, and quality of the wax. A small candle costs $6 and the larger 2-3 wick candle jars can cost $30-$40 USD. There are always sales and coupons available on the Internet to bring down the prices.

Where do you purchase your candles? Do you have local candlemakers and shops? @taliakerch

The candlesticks used in Russian Orthodox churches in USA that I've attended services in were a pale yellow color without fragrance and, because they are tall and thin, did not burn very long.

I sense we both appreciate the tradition of burning candles to keep evil away! 🌬🕯

@ninahaskin I would never have imagined one can find candlesticks and snow in one frame but you managed it. Very creative! I really like the snow crystal design on the candle holder. BLINGGG!

Hi, Nina! @ninahaskin Apologies!! I missed this one last week. Sometimes when they are posted late, I am sure to catch them if you drop the link on the #MarketFriday post. It has got to be me, but, some just don't come up when I am trying to check on the weekend.

Anyway, I am delighted as I love candlesticks and a little dusting of the snowflakes. Especially at this time of year! Who doesn't love a little snow at Christmas? A roaring fire? Oh, yes! Count me in! Bath and Body W/orks for me on Monday. I don't care how much money I would save on the weekend. I will not darken that door. :) It was pretty crowded in there.

Monday, it will be empty per the normal COVID shopping arena. A beautiful and fun post! I wish you luck with the contest if it isn't over yet! :)

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through by their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
    5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  5. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  6. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!
