A FUTURE WELL PLANNED

I will be approaching this topic using myself as the case study here, not necessarily because I got it right but because now, I know better, hopefully, you might learn one thing or two as my audience from this talk today.

WHY THIS TOPIC?

The reason is not far-fetched 👌 it's basically due to my life experiences so far as an adult, and as a parent who has seen both the difficult and good sides of life.

A future well-planned should begin as early as possible, okay let me say latest, immediately after one graduates from primary school and is about to enter high school. However, at this stage in life, a guide is needed for the child or children in question. Guide on choosing whether the person should go for science or Art subjects depending on your evaluation of the person's academic performance on subjects. This particular decision will also determine the course of study when the person is set to enter the university. By now, I believe you have seen why I said earlier that planning for the future starts immediately after one's primary school.

Having said that, it is also important that you consider choosing a course in the university that will likely give you a good job after study even though securing a job in your area of specialization is not guaranteed in our world today but who knows what the future holds🤷.

Now from my experience, a lot of people especially ladies have this marriage mentality once they are in the university. Some people strive to gain admission to secure a good husband for themselves instead of studying with a good future in view. Funny enough, I have seen people who drop out of the university once they get married while still at the university.

Before getting into marriage whether you are a man or woman, financial plans are highly recommended at least to give your children a good life...I missed this before I got married and I have been struggling to try to meet the needs of my children and not rely on my husband alone.

Making adequate financial plans for the future at an early stage is what everyone should consider. I remember seeing some of my classmates in the university back then engaging in business while still in school. I didn't think in that direction even when I had the opportunity to. This set of people made cool money and invested some and I was only watching and focused on my study alone. Some of them also discovered crypto then and were learning it, researching about it, and investing from their pocket money gradually. Jude, my classmate made 19 million naira from crypto just a few months after our graduation, and today, he already has landed properties in the city where he resides. I still remember the little money he invested in one of the coins then that changed his life positively today.

If I had known, I would have begun my future journey right from time, if I had the right info I needed and the kind of info I have now, I would have made some decisions right, and maybe by now, I wouldn't be struggling financially. Well, the good side is that while I am striving to put things right, I am using my mistake to teach my children. Making millions in the early twenties should be the goal. Gone are the days when we put marriage at the top list before finances. This reminds me of the discussion I had with @starstrings01 the other day, his financial plans before marriage boils down to securing a good future for his future wife and children and becoming wealthy 🤑 and not only rich..lolz. I remember telling my younger sister to set a financial standard before getting into marriage and making money is a great requirement, you will need it in that marriage to make things easier for you. Of course, two heads are better than one. When a man and a woman in a marriage are financially capable, the children will be given a good life and I am sure that is the desire of every parent.

Let's talk about securing assets for your children...

Do you know that some smart people start buying assets for their future children even while still single? Some open a bank account for their kids before or after arrival and start saving for their needs. This is a part of the good plan we should consider. This can only be achievable if we set that goal so early and work towards it. I respect some people, they are just too intentional while planning for their future. Marriage is good, so nice but it becomes sweeter when you plan very well for it ahead of time.

What of retirement plan?

If you devote your time and energy as a youth, working hard, seeking more financial ideas, and investing properly, my dear...you might start enjoying your retirement as early as possible. Have you wondered why some people at age 60 still toil daily trying to make ends meet? Even when they are supposed to be resting and taking things gradually? I think it's due to inadequate planning at the early stage or perhaps there weren't privileged. Whichever way, we should be intentional while planning for our future and it starts now!

Good read. Financial education is important and should be learned far earlier then high school. Banks no longer give that earning yield so the best option is more then likely to creat a trust.
