Learning When to Speak and When to Stay Silent

Most of life experiences always teach me some vital lessons, and so I have learned that in this life, not every accusation deserves my response. Some battles also don't need my voice; even some misunderstandings may not require too much explanation. You know why, people believe what they want to believe no matter how much you want to let them understand your sincerity.

Sometimes silence is not weakness in any way; it is simply wisdom.Even Jesus, according to scripture, stayed quiet before certain accusations, not because He had nothing to say, but because not every voice deserves your energy; that's wisdom.

A lot of times, I have noticed that the more I explain myself, the more some people choose to believe what they already decided. Depending on the situation and the person I am dealing with, I may say a few words to clear the air, but in most cases, people know how to conclude matters, and when I meet that set of people, I will choose to reverse my energy.

I also stopped over-explaining myself when I realized that many people only understand from the level of their perception; there is nothing you can do to change their opinion; that's their personality. So when I find myself in situations like this, I will rather speak to the only one who truly understands me, and that's God; no matter what anybody chooses to believe about me, time shall tell.

Sometimes my explanation may not change their mind, but my silence will protect my peace, and that is more reason I will choose peace over and over again, and when I stop explaining myself to everyone, my strength will be preserved, my clarity too, and my sanity.

So yeah, in some situations, I do embrace being quiet, not because I am weak; it's simply wisdom.

I agree with you.in certain suitation it's better to remain quiet because people already have a way they want their mind to work, so why explain yourself?

Wise man once say...

It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Most people do not ask you to get clarification, they ask you to start feeling less and questioning yourself and your decision.

I am learning not to explain myself no matter how much I want to, it's one act I became conscious of recently and started practicing after I understood that part of life.

It's not been easy, but I am beginning to get a grip.
