NEWBIES INITIATIVE TASK 5 || TRIBE TOKENS AND THE USE OF TAGS

The Newbies Initiative program keeps getting more interesting with an overdose of knowledge about hive 🤩 and my sincere gratitude cannot be measured.

Here is task 5 after our last tutorial here on hive and via discord meeting. A summary of what I learned will be discussed in the following questions below and in case you wish to listen to the detailed tutorial video, kindly click HERE.

WHY DO COMMUNITIES CREATE TOKENS ON HIVE?

Tokens are created to reward community members and support those who post in a tribe community or use tribe tags. So it's an extra earning in addition to the Hive you earn in a post.

EXPLAIN WHY THE USE OF TAGS IS VERY IMPORTANT ON HIVE.

The use of tags is very important as it helps you to earn tokens and create visibility for your content.

Let me explain this further:

If you use neoxian tag for example, and someone with a neoxang stake votes your post, you earn a NEOXANG token.

Tags are beneficial to both authors and curators. To the authors, their posts can be found easily with tags, and to the curators, it is easy for them to find their desired content to curate using tags.

So it becomes very important that we include a major theme of our content as a tag in a post. For example, include "sport" as a tag when you are writing about sports so you don't get missed out on by the curators when they are out there in search of particular content to curate.

LIST SOME GENERAL TAGS YOU KNOW ON HIVE.

Some general tags I know so far are:

  • Proofofbrain (pob)
  • VYB
  • Neoxian
  • Hive
WHAT ARE THE VARIOUS WAYS YOU CAN EARN TRIBE TOKENS ON HIVE?

Various ways to earn tribe tokens are:

  • By engaging and posting in a tribe community. For example in the Neoxian community, they have a NEOXANG token, so posting there can earn you NEOXANG TOKEN through upvotes.

  • By staking your earned tribe tokens and voting for others. With this, you will earn a curation reward.

  • By buying these tokens, get them staked and earn from them as well. These tribe tokens provide both author and curation rewards respectively.

  • By using tribe tags example; pob, vyb, neoxian, Leo, stem, etc. were suitable and earn multiple tribe tokens on a single post.

  • By being part of the community .

In summary, it's been a pleasant journey so far gathering all this knowledge in this program and I will love to appreciate @starstrings01 and @samostically for the precious time they dedicated to dishing out this info. Permit me to also appreciate @theycallmedan and @aliento and every other team member of this newbies initiative program for their immense support so far. They are well valued!

No doubt there's a great number of lessons to be learned while in the newbies initiative. These are basic knowledge for all newbies to know and it sure will help a lot of people who didn't have this knowledge before now

I've been earning tribe tokens on my posts and I didn't even know how they came about but reading this post, I now have an idea how it works and to earn more. This is quite expository. Thanks for sharing.
