No Viral Video Is Worth Your Life

Many people believe that to make it in life, they have to take risks; after all, life is full of risks, and so they boldly take some kind of risk that could even end up costing their lives in the process, all in the name of making it big in life, going viral for likes and clicks, and hitting the jackpot.

Well, the Internet so far has blessed us with opportunities that our fathers didn't enjoy during their time. Today, someone regarded as ordinary can wake up to make a viral video, and before midnight, he or she has attracted a million followers.

No doubt, people take advantage of this era and build their careers, which is not bad at all. But then, it's a concern seeing the extent some people go just for their video to go viral; many dangerous risks they push themselves into just to get people's attention and to make it at a go.

I saw a video the other day of a guy hanging from a skyscraper without any form of safety materials, and I was like, all for likes, engagements, virality, money? Even yesterday while I was heading to the market, a guy with his friend dressed like a masquerade was shooting a video at the center of the highway, and I was amazed! Why all this risk? Why risk a precious life that doesn't have a spare? all for money or whatever. What if you die in the process of getting a viral video? And having all the money that would change your life for good, who would then enjoy the money thereafter?

You see, it's not all worth it. All the extremes people go to just to get a viral video are uncalled for if a life should be at risk in doing so unless it's just for fun; there's no need to lose your life or get a severe injury over a million views and likes.

Personally, no amount of money or followers is worth risking my life or my freedom, not even in my next generation.

We have seen one viral video changing someone's life for good. Talk of comedians and other celebrities; they could sing or dance or perform an activity that could reach the right audience, and they are made. That's indeed the beauty of social media.

Many people go viral by creating valuable videos, showcasing lovely talents always, and staying relevant. Some sing a beautiful song, a funny drama, a harmless skit, an inspiring story, etc., and you see it attracting millions of views. That's exactly the kind of viral video I admire.

No need to put your safety on the line just to go viral, but do something valuable and remain consistent, and with time, going viral becomes unstoppable.

At the end of the day, this kind of creativity, value in creating meaningful content, is the type that lasts with rewards that are worth it.

I think that most of the humans don't understand the value of staying well and fine until they face an accident. Viral video is not worth our lives, but many of us still choose to take risks.

I just hope our creators realizes this. Risking lives including that of their audiences and themselves doesn't guarantee the success of it going viral sef. Countless of creators who had died or injured themselves like that and the video isn't attracting ants let alone engagements from humans

It’s always the lazy ones that want the easy way out but the easy way out might end up costing you more than you can imagine.
