THE ALARMING CRIMES AMONG YOUTH IN MY SOCIETY
The rate at which crimes are recorded these days in my society is quite alarming! There is hardly a day you will wake up to check the internet or listen to the news without hearing one terrible thing or the other.
These crimes range from immorality, drug addiction, cultism, rituals, cybercrime (yahoo activities), property robbery, and many more.
The internet: This has done a lot of harm to our dear youths. So many evils are reigning on social media and because everyone has access to that without any form of boundary, these evils are being accessed on daily basis, it's being registered in the mind and so the urge to practicalize them. So many youths engage themselves in watching pornography, after which some take 💊 drugs (drug addict)to get themselves high and move straight to an immoral act. You see, sin begets sin likewise crime begets crime as well.
Unemployment. Passing through a lot of stress in the university with the hope of securing a decent job and then coming out to the world market and getting all your hope dashed out can be so frustrating. Lack of jobs is another factor that has contributed to the increase in crimes amongst youth. Nowadays, youths are impatient to learn a skill and start from there but rather indulge themselves in cybercrime (yahoo activities), where they will make quick money and belong to the happening boys and girls, achieve bigger assets at an early stage to the detriment of the victim! What a sad path the youths have chosen!!!
Lack of parental guidance: Parenting should be deliberate! Some parents are just work-centered, giving lesser attention to their children. Some children lack this parental care, they lack that morale that is supposed to be instilled in them and serves as a reminding factor wherever they find themselves. It's no doubt that some parents play their roles diligently and yet, their children will still choose the wrong path, however, parents should always be alert and intentional about these children God entrusted into their hands.
I think the government should come on board with severe punishment for anyone caught in any of these crimes. The punishment could be dragging the person to social media where his or her image will be at stake or some months or years of imprisonment depending on the type of crime committed, with these measures and other ones too, might go a long way in instilling fears on those that are still planning to join the crime thereby curbing these issues to some an extent.
Parents on the other hand should not only advise and train as much as possible but go an extra mile of praying for their children daily to be of good character in or outside their various homes.

You've really spoken well, the rate at which this crime increases among the youth is alarming.
And In trying to curb such act, the government must start from their officer's who took bribe from this guy's and overlook their bad act.
Oh yes, the government has a major role to play without being biase
Yeah, gouverment need to take a part of this problem. This is a big problem, especially in make a good environment and education to positive things.
With that way, maybe we can take a Youths back from the valley of the Crime.

we can do better with our parenting, this is a very important stage for growing great youths in the society. The factors like Peer Pressure would always be constant, unemployment is another big issue..The issues are always connected together
Lack of parental guidance, cybercrimes, unemployment amidst others has eaten dipper into the root nodules of the country and i hope situations gets better once the electoral process and a new government is installed in power. Great post @nkemakonam89

You are right about social media. It is easily accessible by people of all ages and now these young ones don’t know how to filter good contacts from bad and they would want to practice what they are exposed to.

The government can't curb this crime because they aren't leading with good examples.
These guys are been apprehended on a daily basis but end up buying their way out.

The rate of internet Fraud is now much, you ask an elementary school student what he/she wants to do when he grows up and his/her response will be Yahoo (internet Fraud)

Until the government becomes intentional about these criminals paying for their crimes, then the story will keep on repeating itself because they will keep on committing and going scottfree. That is just the sad reality of the world we live in.
