MCGI PRAYER MEETING HELD ON THE 9/8/2022
Thanks be to God and mcgi for another wonderful explorative teachings on the prayer meeting.
Important points I learnt from God's word discussed.
The best way to prevent temptation is to listen to the word of God. Temptation will come to us as believers.
Proverbs 1:25 talks about if we don't listen to God, God won't answer. Let us be obedient to God's word.
1 Corinthians 10;13 talks about God's counsel stand.
The best way to not fall into temptation is to learn to avoid those things that cause temptation. The bible says the way to staying away from temptation is to avoid and endure it. To endure you have to avoid it. We only have to listen to the counsel of God. God is looking for those who will listen to his word. The fear of God is very important. We shouldn't confront temptation but we should avoid it. We should continuously choose the counsel of God.
1 Peter 2:13 talks about submitting to ourselves. We should be doing so for the sake of the lord.
Listening to the counsel of the lord is very important and the face of the lord will shine on them. God wants to save us and we must listen to his counsel . We must be strong in the faith of God and the importance of listening to God and being able to avoid evil. A man who listens and obeys the counsel of God is wise.
Do not listen to interpretations and fables by men. Be wise and understanding.
It's a great principle to obey the counsel of God.
1 Corinthians 13:12 talks about if advice comes from men we should stop listening.
The following were my old beliefs or expectations that were improved by listening.
- I believe before that I have to confront temptations.
- That I can't avoid temptation
How teaching affects me as a better person

- We should listen to God's counsel to avoid temptation
- The fear of the lord is very important in avoiding temptation
- The best way to prevent temptation is to listen to the word of God.
