Why did sinless Jesus Christ get baptized// part 1 of 3/ Mcgi topic review
Jesus Christ was never a sinner, but the reason he go baptized was because he wants to fulfil all righteousness. Later in the bible Jesus Christ preached that it was good for him to get baptized for him to fulfil the divine love of his father in heaven. By submitting to baptism, He identified Himself with humanity and set an example of obedience for all who would follow Him.
The baptism of Jesus marked the day he began his apostolic work on earth. The heaven opened and the holy spirit decended on his shoulder, then the father's voice was heard from heaven. This revealed Jesus as the chosen Messiah and showed the presence of the Trinity Father, Son, and Holy Spirit confirming His divine mission to the world.
Jesus baptism symbolizes His willingness to take on the sins of humanity, even though He was sinless. By entering the waters, He foreshadowed His death and resurrection, where He would fully bear the sins of the world. His act teaches believers humility, obedience, and the importance of following God’s will, even when it goes beyond personal need.
