Play To Earn on WAX

A few weeks ago, I had entered a Give-A-Way on Twitter, and as a result, I won a sheep for the "Farming Tales" game on WAX. The only problem was, I had never heard of this game and had no idea how to play it! I logged in and it did not take me long to see that the game itself was very well developed and had some really cool graphics and gameplay. Again though, I could not figure out how to do anything! I needed some help to get me started!

Discord!

Like most blockchain games, this one had a Discord set up for the game community, so I logged in and asked them, "What in the heck is going on?" I explained that I had a sheep and couldn't figure out how to actually get started with the game. That is when @libertycrypto27 sent me a link to his #PeakD post about how to get started! I was really happy to see a large #Hive segment in the Farming Tales Discord, and after struggling a little with the French to English translation quirks, I was off and running with the game! Thank you again, @libertycrypto27!

Duh! A Stable to Keep Him In!

The Problem - And Solution!

It did not take me long to realize that my problem was I did not have housing for my poor little sheep! So I went and bought a stable from AtomicHub which was about eighty WAX, then I had to place it. I went into the game and went to the harvest area. I knew where it was, as I had spent some time just exploring, but for someone newer than me, there are areas in the game that are highlighted where you can interact with the game. When you get to one of these areas, you push "E" on your keyboard, and it opens up whatever menu the area is for. In the "Build & Harvest" area, you are offered the option of placing buildings and animals. After placing my stable, I was able to put my sheep inside. So now what?

CEST and CBITs

When you are playing Farming Tales, you have to harvest your farm, and in order to do this, you need food and water for the animals and crops. In order to make this happen in the game, you have to either stake SEST tokens, which will then earn you CBIT tokens, or you can buy CBITs, or do a combination of both, which is what I chose to do. You can easily trade these tokens on Alcor Exchange for WAX, Fiat, or other cryptos. Once you have the tokens, you then go to the "Food & Water" area to fill up your rations, and you are good to go!

Harvest Time!

After the set period of time, your animal or crop will be ready to harvest. You go back into the Build & Harvest area, click on the area you want to harvest, then click on the animal or crop. The "Harvest" button timer, when it runs out, allows you to harvest that item, taking a bit of water or food at the same time, then it resets the timer. Come back in the set time, and Harvest again! Voila! Passive income!

Moving Forward...

At this time, I only have one poor sheep, and their stable in Farming Tales, but since I was given the sheep as a give-a-way award, my investment is very small at this time. Those of you that read my posts know that game tokenomics is not my thing. However, @libertycrypto27 did an excellent job going in-depth in his original post here where he even gives you an online tool to compare the different game currencies to find the best purchase price at any given time! I think I may invest a little more in this game in the future. As I said, it is well built, and fun to play, and we all know how the internet loves farming games...
