Cuando era niña siempre pasaba por la avenida Bella Vista en el carro de mi papá, veía esta plaza que descendía hacia abajo y decía esa plaza es muy rara, porque no está en un sitio totalmente recto y si es la plaza José Antonio Páez, la cual está en toda la avenida principal de Bella Vista, y tiende a ser conocida como la Plaza del Lso o la plaza de los agachaos, y es porque esta va hacia abajo, también porque posee mucha maleza y las personas deben agacharse para poder ir hacia la parte de adentro pero ahora, tuve el gusto de caminar por esta plaza qué me parece que tiene un buen potencial pero se encuentra en estado de abandono.

When I was a child, I used to drive down Bella Vista Avenue in my dad’s car; I’d see this square sloping downwards and think, ‘That square is very odd, because it isn’t on completely level ground.’ It is, in fact, José Antonio Páez Square, which lies along the main thoroughfare of Bella Vista, and is often known as Plaza del Lso or the ‘squat square’, and that’s because it slopes downwards, and also because it’s overgrown with weeds and people have to crouch down to get to the inner part. But now, I’ve had the pleasure of walking through this square, which I think has great potential but is currently in a state of neglect.

Literalmente, en una de sus esquinas, se encuentra un oso que éste se parece mucho al de las empresas de las cervecería popular totalmente parecido, pero cabe destacar que el oso se encuentra totalmente detellorado, no tienes su nariz muy bien definida, curiosamente, me llamo mucho la atención no sé a qué viene esta referencia del oso. Así como también hay una iguana ya que esto no lleva relación con el nombre de la plaza, que rinde tributo a un prócer de la historia pero quizás quisieron darle un toque artístico de otro índole a este lugar.

Literally, in one of its corners, there is a bear that looks very much like the one used by the popular brewery it’s an exact replica but it’s worth noting that the bear is completely worn down; its nose isn’t very well defined. Curiously, it really caught my attention; I don’t know what this reference to the bear is all about. There is also an iguana, although this has no connection with the square’s name, which pays tribute to a historical figure; perhaps they simply wanted to add an artistic touch of a different kind to this place.

Esta plaza tiene también un escenario a su vez me gustó mucho el estilo clásico que también posee, y está pintada de colores totalmente pasteles, como lo es, el blanco y el amarillo me encantó mucho que es una plaza totalmente diferente a la que estamos acostumbrados ver normalmente de una sola planta, pero esto tiende a ser bastante lindo, en particular encontrar algo totalmente diferente. Sin duda, alguna, fue una gran visita que realice con mi hermano también se encontraba muy desolada, por lo que estaba un poco asustada y traté de tomarle fotos lo más rápido posible, así como encontrar cada sentidoo de los detalles que poseía.

This square also has a stage; I really liked its classic style, and it’s painted in soft pastel colours, such as white and yellow. I absolutely loved the fact that it’s a square quite unlike the single-storey ones we’re used to seeing, but this makes it rather lovely, especially as it’s something completely different. Without a doubt, it was a great visit I made with my brother; it was also quite desolate, so I was a bit scared and tried to take photos as quickly as possible, as well as to appreciate every little detail it had.

Esta plaza posee muchos faros, reflectores en todos los faros podemos ver las marcas me gusta mucho como las empresas en años anteriores los identificaban, ya no es muy común encontrar esto cabe destacar que la ubicación de plaza es bastante historica en este lugar podemos muy cerca la famosa y tradicional esquina de "Pa que Luis en Santa Lucia", bastante cerca la Iglesia, el empadrao, el museo de la gaita entre otros espacios más de grande historia.

This square is home to many street lamps; on all of them we can see markings. I really like the way companies used to label them in years gone by; it’s not very common to see this anymore. It’s worth noting that the square is situated in a rather historic part of town; nearby we find the famous and traditional corner known as ‘Pa que Luis en Santa Lucía’, as well as the church, the ‘Empadrao’, the bagpipe museum and other sites steeped in history.

Por último, fue un paseo bastante interesante y realizarlo con mi hermano fue lo mejor contemplar este lugar antes mucho tiempo y verlo, por el vidrio del carro es totalmente diferente a poderlo hacer de manera presencial y poder caminar en él, así como también poder profundizar mucho más de la historia de este prócer de la patria y cómo espacios como esto buscan rendir ese tributo especial.

All in all, it was a really interesting trip, and doing it with my brother was the best way to experience this place having seen it from a distance for so long, viewing it through the car window is completely different from being there in person and walking around, as well as being able to delve much deeper into the history of this national hero and how places like this seek to pay that special tribute.
