Warm greetings to all my dear friends in this lovely Lifestyle community on this Monday, the first day of the week.

Es algo que ha pasado una nos desconecta nos permite agilizar nuestro cerebro y culturarnos en el museo de arte centenario o Centro Rafael Urdaneta, no puede hacer la excepción, ya que tienen un espacio de poesía y de lectura en donde puedes encontrar innumerables libros y revistas donde puedes tomarte un rato para ti, sentarte y leer me encanta mucho de estos espacios, ya que no hay muchos en la ciudad a duras, penas podemos encontrar en la biblioteca espacios como este, pero en otros lugares muy difícil, pero ellos pensaron en aquellos amantes de la poesía y de la lectura empedernida, justamente a mano izquierda, hay un espacio en donde tú te puedes reconectar con el mágico mundo de la lectura.

It’s something that’s happened it helps us switch off, clears our minds and broadens our horizons at the Centenario Art Museum or the Rafael Urdaneta Centre, which is no exception, as they have a poetry and reading area where you can find countless books and magazines and take some time for yourself, sit down and read. I really love these spaces, as there aren’t many in the city; we can barely find spaces like this in the library, let alone elsewhere. But they’ve thought of those who love poetry and are avid readers: right on the left-hand side, there’s a space where you can reconnect with the magical world of reading.

Curiosamente, una de las cosas que me llamó la atención es que en el lugar podemos ver bastante ediciones especiales de revistas emblemáticas que en aquellos tiempos funcionaban en nuestra ciudad, en los cuales hablaban de nuestra identidad como zuliano y reseñas importantes de Maracaibo y del Zulia, pero hace aproximadamente unos años todo el medio impreso, incluyendo estas revistas no volvieron a salir más por falta de papel, pero algunas quedaron plasmadas en este gran espacio y podemos ir a disfrutar de ellas leyéndolas en esta gran sala.

Interestingly, one of the things that caught my attention is that here we can see quite a few special editions of iconic magazines that were published in our city back in those days, which discussed our identity as people from Zulia and featured important articles on Maracaibo and Zulia; however, a few years ago, the entire print media sector including these magazines ceased publication due to a shortage of paper, but some have been preserved in this wonderful space, and we can go and enjoy reading them in this magnificent hall.

Anteriormente se utilizaban mucho los discos de acetato, estos eran colocados para poder ser escuchado ya que podemos ver que en este espacio desplegado en todos sus gabinetes de madera, existen un sin fín de estos discos de diferentes artistas marabinos zulianos, así como también venezolanos esta manera de escuchar música ya quedó totalmente obsoleta ya que las nuevas tecnologías han avanzado muy pocas son las personas que tienen el privilegio de escuchar un disco de esta forma.

Acetate records were once widely used; they were placed on the turntable to be played, as we can see from this display in all the wooden cabinets, which contain a vast number of these records by various artists from Maracaibo and Zulia, as well as from across Venezuela. This way of listening to music has now become completely obsolete, as new technologies have advanced; very few people still have the privilege of listening to a record in this way.

Primeromente al llegar te encuentras el salón de lectura Udón Pérez, como podemos saber que un famoso compositor y poeta, entre otros más zulianos, ya que era un hombre extremadamente oculto que solamente se dedicaba a estudiar las carreras para aprender no para ejercerla, es por ello que estudió muchas carreras, pero suele ser más conocido por ser el compositor del himno del estado Zulia a su vez también por ser el escritor del famoso poema "Maracaibo mía".

First of all, upon arrival, you come across the Udón Pérez reading room. As we know, he was a famous composer and poet, amongst other notable figures from Zulia, although he was an extremely reclusive man who devoted himself solely to studying various degree courses for the sake of learning, not to practise the professions; that is why he studied so many different subjects, but he is best known as the composer of the Zulia state anthem and also as the author of the famous poem ‘Maracaibo mía’.

Por último, estuve un gran rato en la sala sentada leyendo muchas de las revistas, así como también observando cada uno de los discos bastante viejos, así como también algunos libros y fue una bonita experiencia, quiero aplicar en mi vida poder leer muchos más libros físicos para sí poder despegarme un poco del celular, sin duda alguna este museo considero que lo tiene todo para poder distraernos y pensar de una manera diferente nos vemos hasta una próxima oportunidad, mis queridos amigos electores.

Finally, I spent quite a long time in the room, sitting and reading lots of the magazines, as well as looking at each of the rather old records and some books; it was a lovely experience. I want to make a point of reading many more physical books in my daily life so that I can take a bit of a break from my mobile phone. Without a doubt, I think this museum has everything it takes to help us take our minds off things and think in a different way. See you next time, my dear fellow voters.
