Another year at the Walk of Mercy. | Otro año en la Marcha de la Misericordia.

Gratos saludos tengan todos mis queridos amigos de esta comunidad hermosa de Lifestyle es todo un gusto para mi saludarlos en este lunes inicio de semana quiero mostrarle mi caminata un año más en la gran fiesta de la misericordia.

Warm greetings to all my dear friends in this wonderful Lifestyle community. It is a real pleasure for me to greet you on this Monday, the first day of the week. I would like to share with you my participation, once again this year, in the great celebration of mercy.

Un año más caminé, la caminata de Jesús de la Divina Misericordia, la cual se celebra un domingo después del domingo de Resurrección, es un momento especial para acercarte en oración y caminar aproximadamente más de 10 km, la misma siempre sale desde la iglesia la Consolación desde la avenida principal de 5 de Julio hasta la ciudad universitaria en lo que vendría siendo un futuro, el santuario de la divina misericordia son aproximadamente muchos kilómetros, pero son cientos de miles de personas las que caminan, y estas son provenientes de todas las ciudades de Maracaibo las cuales se reúnen a caminar junto con Jesús de la divina misericordia, recordando la fuente infinita de paz que nos concede y de grandes milagros.

Once again this year I took part in the Pilgrimage of Jesus of Divine Mercy, which is held on the Sunday following Easter Sunday. It is a special occasion to draw closer to God in prayer and walk a distance of over 10 km. The procession always sets off from La Consolación Church on the main avenue, 5 de Julio, and makes its way to the university campus, which will eventually become the future Sanctuary of Divine Mercy. It is a long walk, but hundreds of thousands of people take part, coming from all over Maracaibo to walk alongside Jesus of Divine Mercy, remembering the infinite source of peace He grants us and the great miracles He performs.

La atravesía inició justamente muy cerca de mi casa cuando pudimos agarrar un carrito que este no llevo hasta el centro de la ciudad. ahí estuvimos en la parada de bella vista para poder agarrar hacia la iglesia, la Consolación había muchas personas en la parada hasta que pudimos agarrar un carrito detenernos, él mismo nos dejó justamente muy cerca de la iglesia ya faltaba aproximadamente unos 45 minutos, para que pudiera salir la gran caminata de la misericordia y estaban totalmente las personas concentradas ahí mismo ya que estaban realizando la hora santa un momento especial de gran oración.

The journey began right near my house, where we managed to flag down a minibus, though it didn’t take us all the way to the city centre. There we were at the Bella Vista stop to catch a ride to the church, La Consolación. There were lots of people at the stop until we managed to flag down a minibus to stop for us; the driver dropped us off right near the church. There were about 45 minutes to go before the Great Walk of Mercy was due to start, and people were already gathered there in full force as they were holding the Holy Hour, a special time of deep prayer.

Hasta que después salió la gran imagen de Jesús de la divina misericordia, la cual la estaban cargando a los caballeros de la misericordia y también estaba un cordón de jóvenes permitiendo que ninguna de las de las personas estuvieran cerca de la imagen, ya que siempre hay un límite para que se pueda llevar el orden la imagen de Jesús de la misericordia en su 4 esquina, tenía diferente tipo de relicario de varios santos cabe destacar que esta devoción de Jesús de la Divina misericordia se extendió por todo el mundo cuando la religiosa, sor María Faustina, recibió una revelación a Jesús de la misericordia y esta le dijo que le hablara a todo el mundo de su inagotable misericordia.

Then the large image of Jesus of Divine Mercy was brought out, carried by the Knights of Mercy, whilst a line of young people stood guard to ensure that no one came too close to the image, as there is always a boundary to maintain order around the image of Jesus of Divine Mercy at its four corners, It contained various types of reliquaries of several saints. It is worth noting that this devotion to Jesus of Divine Mercy spread throughout the world when the nun, Sister Maria Faustina, received a revelation from Jesus of Divine Mercy, who told her to tell the whole world of his inexhaustible mercy.

Caminando durante largo trayecto sin ningún problema con bastante hidratación, merienda para poder controlar mi alimentación baja en índice glicemico, ya que debía de perder muchas calorías caminando, eso se lo entregue a Jesús de la Divina Misericordia que me protegiera, para que no me pudiera dar ningún tipo de síncope, ya que había bastante sol, bastante calor y estaba intenso, en su máximo punto el sol estaba no obstante cuando casi faltaba poco para terminar la caminata, me llamó mucho la atención que vi un gran arreglo en globos de la imagen de Jesús de la divina misericordia, esto me fascinó y no pude controlar evitar tomar varias fotografías.

I walked for a long stretch without any problems, staying well hydrated and having a snack to keep my low-glycaemic-index diet on track, as I was bound to burn a lot of calories walking; I entrusted this to Jesus of Divine Mercy to protect me, so that I wouldn’t suffer any kind of fainting spell, as it was quite sunny, quite hot and intense; the sun was at its peak, yet just as I was nearing the end of the walk, I was struck by the sight of a large balloon display depicting the image of Jesus of Divine Mercy, this fascinated me and I couldn’t help but take several photographs.

Finalmente pude terminar la caminata de las de Jesús de la divina misericordia entregándole, la imagen justamente en la ciudad universitaria donde se iba a celebrar la santa eucaristía, mi novio Jorge y yo estabamos totalmente bendecidos de poder caminar esta caminata, hacerlos juntos una vez más, ya mi papá se encontraba, esperándome muy cerca del lugar, ya que me espero en un sitio retirado donde aproximadamente tenga que caminar como más de 1 km debido a que todo estaba muy congestionado, pero sencillamente estaba bastante feliz por ver culminado satisfactoriamente esta caminata y que Dios me haya concedido esta dicha.

I finally managed to complete the Divine Mercy Pilgrimage, handing over the image right in the university district where the Holy Eucharist was to be celebrated. My boyfriend Jorge and I felt truly blessed to be able to undertake this walk, to do it together once again. My dad was already waiting for me very close to the venue, as he had waited for me in a secluded spot where I had to walk over a kilometre because everything was so congested, but I was simply very happy to have successfully completed this walk and that God had granted me this joy.
