El miedo llega a nuestra vida para paralizarnos por completo dejandonos sin aliento, esa sensación de que las cosas no saldrán bien aumenta los niveles de estres cuando estamos en una situación de gran reto, el año pasado el miedo me paralizo e incapacito por completo pero una vez que encontre la manera de controlarlo, darle nombre a mis temores me hizo dominar el miedo. La Odontología resulta un gran reto para pacientes que tienen mucho temor, pero también resulta un temor para ese operador que se encuentra siendo un estudiante ejecutando procedimientos por primera vez, el martes realice mi primera extracción y les contaré como me sentía.

Honestamente cuando encontre mi paciente no me base en que la misma tuviera todos los procedimientos odontológicos a relizar sino, que debía llevar una paciente que fuera responsable y que estuviera interesada en la atención odontologica, observe que tenía un molar para extraer con una carie bastante profunda además ya la misma había deteriorado por completo mucho más de la mitad de la estructura dentaria sólo dejando la cara distal y vestibular, al tomar la radiografía panorámica se pueden observar que sus raíces estaban muy curvas y también abiertas, una pieza dentaria 37 que normalmente no son fáciles de extraer, sabía que esta extracción dental sería totalmente un gran reto para mi, por lo que decidí preparme mucho con el estudio.

Honestly when I found my patient I did not base my decision on the fact that she had all the dental procedures to perform, but rather, that I had to take a patient who was responsible and interested in dental care, I observed that she had a molar to extract with a very deep cavity and it had already completely deteriorated much more than half of the tooth structure, leaving only the distal and vestibular side, When I took the panoramic x-ray I could see that its roots were very curved and also open, a 37 tooth piece that normally are not easy to extract, I knew that this dental extraction would be a great challenge for me, so I decided to prepare myself a lot with the study.

Al momento de llegar el día horas antes me sentía totalmente nerviosa, pero sin embargo estaba tranquila porque estaba preparada y había dedicado muchas horas de estudio, pero ya tenía tanto tiempo esperando este momento y con tanta sed de extraer mi primer diente que ya quería hacer mi procedimiento, me encontraba totalmente segura, confiada con una gran capacidad y convicción de lograr mi objectivo de extraerla. Prepare todo el campo operatorio y mis instrumento en su respectivo orden según el distinto tiempo quirurgico sente a mi paciente, mostré mi historia clínica a la paciente que procedió a interrogarme por completo todo lo que iba hacer cabe destacar que para mi esta es la parte más intimidante de toda enfrentar a la doctora puesto que es bastante fuerte.

I prepared the entire operative field and my instruments in their respective order according to the different surgical time, I sat my patient, I showed my medical history to the patient who proceeded to question me completely about what I was going to do, it is worth mentioning that for me this is the most intimidating part of facing the doctor since she is quite strong.

Al momento de proceder a la extracción dental era impresionante, pero no sentía miedo alguno esa sensación que paraliza y nos roba el aliento, no estaba en mi tenía tanta seguridad y estaba enficada en todo lo que estaba haciendo, al momento de anestesiar me encontraba totalmente concentrada puesto debía adminastrar lentamente el carpul de anestesia, la paciente en el momento no sentía el efecto de la misma en la zona lingual, por lo qe reforze la técnica anestesica de nuevo en conjunto con la aspiración para garantizarme de no caer en un vaso sanguineo, seguía manteniendo mi confianza en mi, ningún momento dude de mis convicciones, no sentí ninguna emoción negativa asociada al temor, contrario mucha confianza y seguridad esa sensación de que todo estaba marchando bien era convicción plena por completo, seguridad a cada uno de mis conocimientos.

At the moment of proceeding to the dental extraction was impressive, but I did not feel any fear, that feeling that paralyzes and steals our breath, it was not in me, I had so much security and I was confident in everything I was doing, at the time of anesthesia I was fully concentrated since I had to slowly administer the anesthetic carpul, the patient at the time did not feel the effect of the same in the lingual area, so I reinforced the anesthetic technique again in conjunction with the aspiration to ensure I did not fall into a blood vessel, I continued to maintain my confidence in myself, at no time did I doubt my convictions, I did not feel any negative emotion associated with fear, on the contrary, a lot of confidence and security, that feeling that everything was going well was full conviction, security to each of my knowledge.
