My first visit to the architectural gem, the Iglesia Milagrosa. | Mi primera visita a esa joya arquitectónica que es la Iglesia Milagrosa.

A warm greeting to all my travellers from all over the world; it is a pleasure for me to greet you on this Thursday.

Justamente en la avenida de Los Haticos muy cercana al centro de la ciudad de Maracaibo podemos encontrar una iglesia con una edificación bastante impresionante neoclásica alta e imponente centro de fe para todos los lugareños que viven en este sector desde hace muchos años, esta iglesia se encuentra totalmente abierta al público donde se le rinde devoción especial a Nuestra Señora de la Milagrosa recientemente fue recuperada y remodelada, cada uno de sus espacios ya que su fachada se encontraba bastante deteriorada y podemos ver que la iglesia se encuentra totalmente refrescada lo que hace que sea mucho más bella de lo que ahora es.

Right on Avenida de Los Haticos, very close to the centre of Maracaibo, there is a church with a rather impressive, tall and imposing Neoclassical façade; it serves as a centre of faith for all the locals who have lived in this area for many years. This church is fully open to the public and is dedicated to Our Lady of the Miraculous. It has recently been restored and refurbished throughout, as its façade was in a state of considerable disrepair; we can now see that the church has been completely revitalised, making it even more beautiful than it was before.

La visita recientemente el domingo día del señor hice ir a escuchar la misa en un lugar totalmente diferente ya que estos encuentros no pueden faltar, tome el tráfico y el carrito me dejó justamente en el frente el clima se encontraba bastante nublado pero a la iglesia no dejaba de ser hermosa, siempre he pasado por enfrente de esta iglesia pero nunca he podido conocer su interior por lo que me entregaba por completo y como vi también que recientemente había sido remodelada, era el momento propicio para ir a visitarla y conocer su interior su historia y arquitectura.

Last Sunday, the Lord’s Day, I went to attend Mass in a completely different place, as these gatherings are not to be missed; I braved the traffic and the bus dropped me right in front of it. The weather was quite cloudy, but the church was still beautiful. I’ve always walked past this church but have never been able to see inside, so I was really looking forward to it. As I could also see that it had recently been refurbished, it was the perfect time to visit and explore its interior, history and architecture.

La iglesia se aposee el aparte de al frente es su fachada externa posee 3 puertas una que conduce a la nave central del altar y una en cada lateral derecho e izquierdo a su vez también tiene ingreso por las puestas de los lados de la iglesia, generalmente por la puerta del lado derecho es por donde ingresa las personas a escuchar la santa y misa así también los días domingo justamente en la parte detrás del iglesia, podemos ver qué se encuentran distribuidos los salones de la misma y esto también tiene una arquitectura asemejante neoclásica característica de la misma iglesia, por lo que se ve bastante uniforme, podemos ver que la iglesia se encuentra a lo alto por lo que también posee sótano y esta iglesia se encuentra elevada, justamente por Medio de una escalera ya que sabemos que está ubicada en el sector Los Haticos y este lugar tiende a ser muy bajo, se estanca mucho las aguas negras es por eso qué la iglesia está hacia lo alto.

The church occupies the section at the front; its external façade has three doors: one leading to the central nave and the altar, and one on each of the right and left sides. It also has entrances via the doors on the sides of the church; generally, people enter through the door on the right-hand side to attend Mass, as well as on Sundays, specifically at the rear of the church, we can see how the church’s rooms are laid out, and this area also features the same neoclassical-style architecture characteristic of the church itself, giving it a rather uniform appearance. We can see that the church is situated on higher ground, which is why it has a basement; access to the church is via a flight of stairs, as it is located in the Los Haticos area, where the ground tends to be very low-lying, sewage tends to pool there, which is why the church is situated on higher ground.

Al entrar a la iglesia me llamó mucho la atención que está a su lado laterales tiene distribuidos muchos ventanales que forman parte de las ventanas de la iglesia estos son coloridos y cada uno tiene en su interior la imagen de algún santo o de alguna aparición Mariana de cualquiera de las vírgenes, estos ventanales reflejan el paso de la luz por lo que transmiten un excelente colorido dándole así una forma especial y un sentido único a la vida de lo que consideramos que son modelo de santidad para nosotros, podemos encontrar un sin fín de ventanales como lo es de Nuestra Señora de Coromoto y Nuestra señora de Guadalupe, Santa Ana, San José entre otros más.

On entering the church, I was struck by the fact that its side walls are lined with numerous large windows that form part of the church’s glazing; these are colourful and each one features an image of a saint or a Marian apparition of one of the Virgin Marys. These large windows allow light to pass through, creating a beautiful play of colour and thus lending a special character and a unique meaning to the lives of those we regard as models of holiness for us. There are countless such windows, depicting Our Lady of Coromoto, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Saint Anne, Saint Joseph and many others.

Observando la iglesia pude darme cuenta qué posee grandes elementos totalmente interesantes para los humanos puesto que justamente en el centro del altar y los 2 altares laterales derecho izquierdo, podemos ver que esto presenta un semiarco que se unen entre sí formando cúpulas que se entrelazan entre sí muy similar a las arquitecturas neoclásicas de iglesias con gran antigüedad se asemeja bastante a la iglesia Santa Lucía que se encuentra en uno de los barrios más antiguos de la ciudad de Maracaibo.

Looking at the church, I realised that it features some truly fascinating elements for us humans, given that, right at the centre of the main altar and the two side altars on the right and left, there is a semi-arch that joins together to form interlocking domes, much like the neoclassical architecture of ancient churches; it bears a strong resemblance to the Church of Santa Lucía, which is situated in one of the oldest neighbourhoods of the city of Maracaibo.

Esta iglesia reúne una arquitectura bastante parecida a la misma y también podemos encontrar que justamente en la nave central de lo que sería todo lo largo del altar donde se encuentran distribuidas las bancas, podemos ver en el techo distintos tipos de círculos dándole un toque especial bastante parecido también a la iglesia la Asunción, que se encuentra muy cerca de esta iglesia me encanta cada uno de los detalles arquitectónicos interesantes que posee.

This church features architecture that is quite similar to that of the Church of the Assumption, and we can also see that, right in the central nave running the entire length of the altar where the pews are arranged there are various types of circles on the ceiling, giving it a special touch that is also quite similar to the Church of the Assumption, which is located very close by. I love every one of the interesting architectural details it possesses.

Ahora bien vamos a hablar del altar que es bastante imponente pintado de un color oro podemos ver que en la parte superior posee un gran ventanal, que tiene la imagen de la virgen, comandando el gran protagonismo de este altar podemos ver en la parte superior la imagen de Nuestra Señora de la Milagrosa la vocación Mariana que se venera en esta iglesia y que se celebra todos los 15 de noviembre de cada año, rodeada de cuadro de relieve de los dogmas de la virgen María.

Now let’s talk about the altar, which is quite imposing, painted gold. We can see that at the top there is a large window featuring an image of the Virgin Mary, which takes centre stage on this altar. At the very top, we can see the image of Our Lady of Miracles, the Marian devotion venerated in this church and celebrated every 15 November, surrounded by relief panels depicting the dogmas of the Virgin Mary.

En cada lado de la sagrada imagen de la Milagrosa, con ángel con ángel que están justamente sostenidos en cada una de las bases del altar a su vez también el centro está la cruz de nuestro señor Jesucristo, que nos recuerda que él murió por nosotros es un altar bastante significativo y a diferencia de los otros altares que posee la puerta justamente atrás del altar, ya que unos tienen una abertura que permite el paso hacia la sacristía pero este se encuentra justamente detrás lo que resulta bastante versátil.

On either side of the sacred image of La Milagrosa, there is an angel on each side, standing precisely on each of the altar’s bases; in the centre, too, stands the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, reminding us that He died for us. It is a rather significant altar and, unlike the other altars, it has a door situated directly behind it, as some have an opening leading to the sacristy, but this one is situated directly behind it, which makes it quite versatile.

Por último fue una gran experiencia de paz y de tranquilidad así como también de historia, cultura ya que esta iglesia está en nuestras ciudades de los años 1958, es una de las pocas iglesias que posea una arquitectura bastante impresionante e imponente ya que son contadas las iglesias de nuestra ciudad de Maracaibo que poseen esta gran arquitectura, durante todas las semanas estaré visitando iglesias así de hermosas y con historia como esta para mostrarlas por aquí y así puedan conocerlas, muchas gracias mis viajeros de todo el mundo por ser parte de este gran recorrido es un placer para mi mostrarle lugares lindos de Maracaibo.

Finally, it was a wonderful experience of peace and tranquillity, as well as history and culture, as this church has stood in our city since 1958. It is one of the few churches boasting such impressive and imposing architecture, as there are very few churches in our city of Maracaibo that feature such magnificent architecture.
