Caminando y explorando las calles de la ciudad de Maracaibo, seguirá un lugar donde nunca había ido, pero si tenía la oportunidad de haber pasado en vehículo por este me llamaba mucho la atención esa pequeña capillita, que se encontraba detrás del centro comercial, gran bazar una pequeña capillita bastante modesta y sencilla, pero, que sin duda alguna en algún momento, es un refugio de fe para las personas que se encuentran en su alrededor. También me llamaba mucho la atención el gran edificio de Fe y Alegría, en donde funciona el circuito radiofónico de Fe y Alegría, cabe destacar, que esta radio tiene bastantes años funcionando, es nada más y nada menos que de las instituciones de Fe alegría, a las cuales tienen en el Zulia y Venezuela, bastante tiempo funcionando de manera interrumpida .

As I walked and explored the streets of Maracaibo, I came across a place I had never visited before, though I had driven past it on previous occasions and had always been struck by that little chapel, situated behind the shopping centre, ‘Gran Bazar’. It is a rather modest and simple little chapel, but one that undoubtedly serves as a sanctuary of faith for the people in the surrounding area. I was also struck by the large Fe y Alegría building, which houses the Fe y Alegría radio station. It is worth noting that this radio station has been operating for many years; it is nothing less than one of the Fe y Alegría institutions in Zulia and Venezuela, which have been running continuously for quite some time.

Para las personas resulta totalmente extraño ver a alguien tomando fotografía a lugares que ellos consideran muy cotidianos, en Maracaibo y que son de gran recurrencia para ellos, pero yo todo lo veo hermoso puesto que considero que hay quien enaltecer, en todo lugar de nuestra ciudad que por más cotidiano que sea siempre, va a expresar algo una belleza, un recuerdo un momento de nunca olvidar, es por eso que siempre me gusta tomar estas fotografías yo salí, junto con mi novio, Jorge a que él me acompañara a tomar fotografías, porque ya saben que no me gusta hacer esto yo sola, ahora me gusta poder compartir con otras personas para si sentirme segura y poder tomar las fotos de la mejor manera.

People find it quite strange to see someone taking photographs of places in Maracaibo that they consider very ordinary and which they visit all the time, but I find it all beautiful because I believe there is something to celebrate in every part of our city; no matter how ordinary it may seem, it will always convey something a beauty, a memory, a moment never to be forgotten. That’s why I always enjoy taking these photographs. I went out with my boyfriend, Jorge, so he could accompany me whilst I took photos, because, as you know, I don’t like doing this on my own. Now I like being able to share the experience with others so I feel safe and can take the photos in the best possible way.

Para mí, las capillitas son bastante hermosas, pues todas se asemejan, en su arquitectura son bastante pequeñas generalmente presentan una sola puerta, que permite su paso y pasar grandes albergan, una gran fe en su interior poder congregar a esas personas que tienen este lugar cerca, la iglesia les queda lejos para poder afectar y reconocer el gran amor que Cristo nos tiene, esta capilita lleva por nombre nuestra señora de la Asunción a pesar de que tengamos aquí en Maracaibo una iglesia grande con este mismo nombre está capillita, sirve para celebrar de vez en cuando la santa eucaristía y también para que las personas puedan ir en algún momento determinado a encontrarse con Cristo.

To me, these little chapels are quite beautiful, as they all look similar; architecturally, they are quite small and usually have just one door, which allows people to enter and exit. They hold a great capacity and a deep faith within them, able to bring together those who live nearby for whom the church is too far away so that they may experience and recognise the great love that Christ has for us. This little chapel is named Our Lady of the Assumption. Although we have a large church here in Maracaibo with the same name, this little chapel serves to celebrate the Holy Eucharist from time to time and also allows people to come at a specific time to encounter Christ.

Por último, fue un agradable recorrido, a pesar de las altas temperaturas que tenía en la ciudad de Maracaibo últimamente está siendo un calor bastante fuerte, que tiende mucho a dificultar el paseo o el recorrido, pero sin embargo, pude realizarlo de la mejor manera siempre tiendo a protegerme mucho la piel para poder. Emprender los paseos que realizan pude contemplar cada uno de los detalles de esta capillita "La Asunción" y sus alrededores me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad mis queridos amigos hasta pronto.

Finally, it was a lovely walk, despite the high temperatures in Maracaibo; it’s been quite hot of late, which tends to make walking or exploring rather difficult, but nevertheless, I managed it perfectly well I always make sure to protect my skin thoroughly so that I can. I was able to take in every detail of this little chapel, ‘La Asunción’, and its surroundings. I’ll say goodbye for now, my dear friends, until next time. See you soon.
