Grato saludos tengan todos mis viajeros de esta linda comunidad es un placer para mí saludarles en este domingo a pesar de toda la tristeza que esta presente en mi corazón por los terremotos en mi país.

A warm greeting to all my fellow travellers in this lovely community; it is a pleasure for me to greet you this Sunday, despite all the sadness I feel in my heart because of the earthquakes that have struck my country.

La tradicional calle de Carabaubo es 1 lugar de mucha tradición para los ulianos y maravinos, que están en la ciudad puesto que es una calle llena de mucho arte, cultura tradición, entre otros más en donde hay un sin fín de lugares emblemáticos reconocidos por todos hoy les hablaré, de la plaza Zaguan, la cual me habían mencionado muchas veces, pero no había tenido la oportunidad de estar en su interior, siempre había pasado por enfrente pensando que esto era otro lugar, pero no una plaza ya que la misma se encuentra totalmente acercada hasta es referencia de una famosa gaita que se llama el Zaguan de Danilo Badell.

The historic Carabaubo Street is a place steeped in tradition for the people of Uliano and Maravino who live in the city, as it is a street brimming with art, culture and tradition, amongst other things, and home to countless iconic spots recognised by everyone. Today I’m going to tell you about Plaza Zaguan, which I’d heard mentioned many times, but I’d never had the chance to go inside. I’d always walked past it, thinking it was just another building, not a square, as it’s completely enclosed and is even the subject of a famous gaita called ‘El Zaguan’ by Danilo Badell.

Me quedé asombrada con la belleza que posee esta hermosa plaza es bastante pintoresca al igual que cada una de las casas antiguas y coloniales que se encuentran en esta prestigiosa calle, podemos ver cómo los murales toman un protagonismo bastante especial en una esquina, podemos ver al famoso gaitero. Danilo Badell, el compuso grandes y hermosas gaitas recordadas por todos haciendo referencia a esta plaza la cual el tuvo el gusto y el honor de componer una gaita con estas letras a su vez también podemos ver un gran mural tributo al gran Ricardo Aguirre el Monumental, fallecido en 1969.

I was amazed by the beauty of this lovely square; it is quite picturesque, as are each of the old, colonial-style houses lining this prestigious street. We can see how the murals take centre stage on one corner, where we can spot the famous bagpiper. Danilo Badell composed some magnificent and beautiful gaita tunes, remembered by everyone, which refer to this square; he had the pleasure and honour of composing a gaita with these lyrics. We can also see a large mural paying tribute to the great Ricardo Aguirre ‘El Monumental’, who passed away in 1969.

En esta plaza se encuentran árboles bastante antiguos y con un tronco muy grueso, en total, podemos ver distribuidos tres, así como también un escenario de diversas bancas, donde puedes sentarte a mirar cada uno de estos árboles también, se encuentran distribuidos muchos arbustos ornamentales que le dan una decoración bastante increíble al lugar, es un lugar de tradición, puesto que aquí se reúnen muchas agrupaciones gaiteras, así como también se realizan muchas presentaciones teatrales de danzas, este lugar, aporta mucho arte y cultura a la ciudad.

In this square there are some rather old trees with very thick trunks; in total, there are three of them scattered around, as well as an area with various benches where you can sit and admire each of these trees, there are also many ornamental shrubs dotted around, which add a truly stunning touch to the square. It is a place steeped in tradition, as many bagpipe bands gather here, and numerous theatrical and dance performances are held; this square brings a great deal of art and culture to the city.

Se ve que es un lugar muy cuidado constantemente en los que no hay rastros algunos de basura, esta plaza es un regalo para nuestros ojos todos sus colores son fantasticos garantiza bastante fresco pues, los grandes arboles sirven como sombra, debido al gran calor que hace en Maracaibo pues te sientas y miras los árboles, sus murales son increíbles, una vez que vine a visitar este lugar hace un año me hablarón de este lugar pero yo no había podido dar con el y me dierón sus grandes referencias fantásticas.

You can tell it’s a place that’s constantly well looked after there’s not a trace of rubbish anywhere; this square is a feast for the eyes; all its colours are fantastic. It’s guaranteed to be quite cool, as the large trees provide shade given how hot it gets in Maracaibo so you can sit and look at the trees. The murals are incredible. When I first came to visit this place a year ago, people had told me about it but I hadn’t been able to find it, and they gave me some fantastic recommendations.

Por último fue un gran paseo este lugar me relajo mucho visitarlo así como también contemplar sus murales, coloridos, pintoresco así como también conocer de la vida de estos grandes gaiteros, sin duda alguna es un lugar de Maracaibo que visitaré más apesar de ser pequeño me encanto demasiado, me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad mis queridos viajeros del mundo.

All in all, it was a lovely outing. Visiting this place really helped me relax, as did admiring its colourful, picturesque murals and learning about the lives of these great bagpipers. Without a doubt, it’s a place in Maracaibo that I’ll be visiting again; even though it’s small, I absolutely loved it. I’ll say goodbye for now, my dear travellers of the world, until next time.
