Visiting Paul Harris Square in Indio Mara. | De visita en la plaza Paul Harris, en Indio Mara.

Gratos saludos tengan todos mis queridos viajeros de todas partes del mundo en este Jueves es un placer para mi estar por aquí y mostrarle otro lugar de mi ciudad.

A warm greeting to all my dear travellers from all over the world on this Thursday; it’s a pleasure for me to be here and show you another corner of my city.

Justamente ya finalizando la avenida Principal de 5 de julio justamente en el sector indiomara podemos encontrar la plaza tributo a Paul Harris, un hombre estáunidense americano bastante influyente ya que fue el creador de la compañía internacional de Rotary, qué está está presente en la mayoría de todos los países curiosamente al estar caminando por la zona pude ver la plaza aunque desde hace muchos años se encuentra en este lugar, me llamó mucho la atención que tiene bastante plantaciones silvestres en los que predominas los cactus, comúnmente en las plazas de Maracaibo se encuentran totalmente secas pero esta a diferencia del resto posee distintas plantaciones.

Right at the end of Avenida Principal de 5 de Julio, in the Indiomara neighbourhood, we find the square dedicated to Paul Harris, a highly influential American who founded Rotary International, an organisation present in most countries. Interestingly, whilst walking through the area, I spotted the square, even though it has been there for many years; what really caught my attention was that it has quite a lot of wild vegetation, predominantly cacti; usually, the squares in Maracaibo are completely barren, but this one, unlike the rest, has a variety of plants.

Entre las distintas plataciones sirves que posee además de los cactus son distintos tipos de palmas, flores silvestres entre otras, más que le dan un toque especial a cada una de las jardineras de esta plaza se encuentra en excelente mantenimiento y las plantaciones hidratadas y no secas ya que Maracaibo posee altas temperaturas, caminerías en donde las personas caminando durante sus actividades del día a día a su vez donde también puedes realizar actividad física como trotar entre otros.

Among the various plants it features, in addition to cacti, are different types of palms, wildflowers and more, which lend a special touch to each of the planters in this square. The square is very well maintained and the plants are well-watered and not dry, given that Maracaibo has high temperatures; there are also footpaths where people can walk as part of their daily routines, and where you can also engage in physical activity such as jogging, amongst other things.

En el centro de la plaza se encuentra la escultura de Paul Harris totalmente elevada sobre una base de mármol, todas las placas que se encuentran sosteniendo la escultura las esculturas están fabricadas en este material pero también la estatua del mismo está elaborada de esta forma podemos ver un retrato de su rostro y de sus hombros vestido de manera elegante, en corbata entre las reseñas se encuentra plasmado que esta plaza fue construida justamente en 1955 ya que se cumplían 50 años de la creación de su compañía Internacional de Rotary como una manera de celebrar las bodas de oro.

In the centre of the square stands the sculpture of Paul Harris, raised high upon a marble plinth; all the slabs supporting the sculpture are made of this material, as is the statue itself. We can see a portrait of his face and shoulders, elegantly dressed, wearing a tie. The inscriptions state that this square was built in 1955 to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of his organisation, Rotary International, as a way of celebrating its golden jubilee.

Entre ambas reseñas de las placas que se encuentran a lo lado de la estatua podemos encontrar pequeñas frases o de escálogo de buenas costumbres y principios como decir la verdad, actuar de manera correcta, el abandonó por lo de por los demás y dejar de pensar en sí mismo, servir a los demás entre otros más son sencillamente normas de esta prestigioso organismo que creo Paul Harris un hombre culto de grandes aportes de conocimiento.

Between the two inscriptions on the plaques situated next to the statue, we can find short phrases or maxims promoting good conduct and principles, such as telling the truth, acting correctly, putting others first and ceasing to think only of oneself, and serving others, amongst others. These are simply the guiding principles of this prestigious organisation founded by Paul Harris, a learned man who made significant contributions to knowledge.

Aparte del excelente mantenimiento que posee la plaza podemos encontrar sus bancas pintadas coloridas en las cuales las personas se pueden sentar un momento a disfrutar cuando el sol, cuando cae cómo a su vez en la mañana tempranito cuando realizan sus actividades físicas, realmente es una plaza pequeña pero muy significativa y colorida a su vez en la jardinera podemos observar el logo de la compañía internacional Rotary.

As well as the square being exceptionally well maintained, there are colourful painted benches where people can sit for a moment to enjoy the sunshine as it sets, or early in the morning whilst doing their exercise. It really is a small but very significant and colourful square; in the flowerbed, we can also see the logo of the international organisation, Rotary.
