Here's That Damn Post You Wanted!

Good evening or whatever the hell time it is over there in your living room or on that train ride to the job you hate so much as you sit across from that stained masked human who appears to inhale only smog, pasta sauce, and poop particles.

My name is @NoNamesLeftToUse The Writer/Artist Himself and I'm fairly sure that's the stupidest name you've ever heard but by now you've already forgotten it.

NoNamesLeftToUse - Name Tag.png

It's been a long while.

And I've come unprepared for anything.

First of all, just know I didn't sell any of those tokens I had on powerdown for the entire time I was gone and I'll most likely put them back where they belong, maybe.

So you can relax now, and stop thinking I'm a traitor or a trader or something even more sinister:

A rich prick.

Alas, I was lost in a forest somewhere, miles away from any internet connection, wearing nothing but the socks I was lucky enough to find on the ground next to a pile of what smelled like human shit, or maybe bear, but I'm not sure, because I don't know my shit.

I had been rehearsing for an episode of Naked and Afraid...

That was the only line of bullshit I had in my arsenal when the nature and wildlife police pulled up to ask me if I was okay.  Apparently there were reports of another sasquatch in the area which was probably just me under the influence of poor lighting, a greasy lens, and my second to last bottle of tequila.

Of course I wasn't okay.

NoNamesLeftToUse They're Good People.png

To this day, I still don't know why they believed me, to the point of just staring at my cock as if they've never seen one that small before, then driving off, leaving me there to suffer what was soon to be the hangover from hell; but if I told them the truth and they found out who I am, it would have been all over the local news, my cover would have been blown, then I'd have to find a new place to be invisible and away from all things fucked up in this world, which isn't cool.

'At least now I know better'

Meaning: I won't ever have to be so cold, wet, hungry, dirty, cut up, bloody, lost, soiled, sick and dehydrated with mushrooms growing out of my ass, ever again, because the drunk tank is a resort hotel compared to the disaster that is a drunken bushcraft adventure alone without even having the brains to pack a lunch, and now I'll know for next time.

Honesty goes a long way.

So I should probably stop bullshitting now and attempt to explain the real reason why I was gone for so long.

But I don't really want to talk about jail because my ass hasn't fully healed yet and I can still see his face when I close my eyes.

Just kidding.

It healed.

Still kidding.

I wasn't locked up.

Honestly, it's been so long since I last wrote to you, I don't think I know how to do it anymore.  I just know if I place enough words here and maybe a few pictures, nobody will suspect I'm faking it.

"Nice post," they'll say, and I'll be all like, "Thank you" in the most deepest of manly voices similar to my cellmate's once he finally let me sleep.

NoNamesLeftToUse The God of Sheetaposta.png

Just kidding.

Getting back to reality though, I must say it's nice to see you folks haven't burned the place down yet, though I see some were trying, which is nothing unusual, so I thought I'd bring my fire extinguisher along but that didn't go as planned either.

I somehow managed to forget platform politics drive me batshit crazy which was the goal:

To forget about all this stuff driving me crazy and get away for a bit.

Since I forgot it drives me crazy, I forgot to remember to steer clear upon my return.  So now I'm crazy again but I'll be okay.

It all happened so fast.

That's what I'd be saying if it was my mission to set the place ablaze because I actually know how to use a lighter.  So you'll never see me running around with my hair and clothes on fire screaming it's your fault this happened, as I melt into a heap of nothingness, never to return from the ashes again, like so many others who only know how to burn themselves when it gets too hot in the kitchen.

But why must I always play with the fire...

NoNamesLeftToUse Read The Writing On The Wall.png

My life has been a complete shit-show but when I left it was an incomplete shit-show so I'm glad that's over.

I've vanished several times across the span of the five years I've been a part of this scene.

Only when it appears things are going well for me — at least on the surface — while making damn sure to respect the roads and bridges we've built together, will I feel comfortable taking a step outside.

In other words: I like to leave on a good note.

Though I don't announce my departure, every time I go, I leave a massive clue directly under your noses.

I gave my word, long ago.  When I leave, you can relax, because I will be back.
And if don't come back it's because I'm probably dead and they haven't found my body yet.

On to the next episode.

I realize most of you have grown accustomed to coming here to read about things that actually matter in this world like that time a duck bit my pecker at the park because I fucked a loaf of bread and forgot to wipe the scent off, but for some strange reason, I've been having difficulties taking life seriously again.

Much like how so many of you out there have no clue who I am, I too have lost touch with myself.

So for the past week or two I've been touching myself nonstop just to get a feel for things again and see if I'm ready to glaze your eyeballs with some of that special art I tend to produce when I get excited.

NoNamesLeftToUse Big Deal.png

I actually splurged.

Bought some new hardware.

Thinking: Yeah, I'm going get back into writing and being an artist or at least calling myself one so people think I have talent and treat me like I'm famous again but for sure I have to remember to avoid utilizing run-on sentences in ways that could send the reader gasping for air somehow even though I think it's funny however they might not think it's funny passing out because that's how you lose an eyebrow where I come from and in order to be successful in this industry it's always best to keep your victims alive for as long as possible rather than putting them out of their misery right off the bat then sticking it in their corpse.

So yeah a new device but so far all I've used it for is porn.  Or so I thought.  You see, apparently, to actually make money in the porn industry, one must remove the lens cap and turn the webcam on.  Not just sit there and whack off to a laptop wondering why everyone is complaining about a black screen that only sounds like fapping but doesn't look like fapping unless it's dark outside.

That went on all day every day for several days before I even noticed there was a problem.

When you do it on the bus, everyone stares, so I thought it would be easy money, but there is a bit of a learning curve on the laptop, so I just went back to doing it on the bus, because I think learning is stupid and I know my audience.

Other than that I haven't really been overly busy aside from the odd adventure to the grocery store to cough on the grapes and count dirty looks.

NoNamesLeftToUse - Wachoodune.png

Dayum

Thems jokes is corny.

I just finished reading all that up to here just like you did.  What the fuck am I doing with my life...

So in reality, I didn't leave because of problems on or with the platform.  My private life was filling me with stress and I needed to vanish to be alone with the thoughts requiring more time to process, carefully, without distractions.  Thoughts meant for me.  Thoughts not worth placing out on display, or sneaking between the lines, or tucking inside your subconscious mind waiting to be discovered once I'm gone for the final time; as I sit wondering how it can be, nobody will notice, until then.

As the days progress, one week turns into two.  Then it's a month later.  Next thing you know it's full blown winter and, holy shit!  Where did the time go?

Took it with me, since it was mine.

I struggle sometimes to find reasons to keep going but yet, I never stop, nor do I want to stop, so I'm glad the stop signs of this world are all an illusion.

It only wants you to pause and take a moment for yourself.  Never complains when you go.

Was a good break.  Completely offline, away from all these distractions caused by daily device dementia.  Truly did spend a few days and nights lost in the forest.  Truly did find a pair of shitted up socks next to someone's bush emergency, but I didn't put them on.

Watched the entire season of Autumn, fall, before my very eyes.

Away from all the chaos that is this new world, I find it difficult to see the end of it now, unlike so many trapped within the despair they'd been force fed for so very long, becoming obese on ideas lacking nutrients.

Felt so dead inside being overly exposed to so many problems these devices place under the spotlight that is the world view without a window and no real desire to look.  Always thought the future would be so bright but now that it's all in the past, I'm glad it didn't last.

I struggle to find joy in living days identical to the days before.  Even the clouds all know never to be the same.  Chaos is beautiful, by design, and I think I'm in love with it.

Feeling on top of the world is easy when one looks down and can actually see what's beyond their feet without feeling like there needs to be more.  Good to keep the footprints behind though and continue to look ahead but even when one stops, they're still moving.

On to the next thing.

Please feel free to stop in and say hello.

Like with every fresh start and all new beginnings, I truly don't know what to expect.  Unsure if those who've taken such a fond interest in my presence and offerings are even around anymore to witness the travelling circus that is my mind.

I'm seriously considering getting back into this.  But it's a lot of work.

I've yet to make a decision.  Still on the fence.  Just wanted to come home for the holidays.  Wanted you all to know I'm alive and well, or at least well enough to be here and say it.

NoNamesLeftToUse Once Was Enough.png

Unfortunately, the world.

After spending several months completely offline and away from, damn near everything, I really started to enjoy it.  It's hard to talk about.  Difficult to explain.  I come from a happier time.  In general, people on the internet are not happy.  This is something one notices the instant you turn it on.  I felt my soul get sucked right out of me and heard my brain fill with noise, with the push of a button.

I feel so fucking dead inside.  It's so strange.  I miss the sound of nothing in the morning.  Been away from more than just the internet though.  I was alone, and did a really good job of becoming friends with myself again.  I've often struggled to enjoy who I am so it was nice to get to know me.  It was nice to calm down.  I felt new and improved.

All that got sucked right out of me.  And the world or nature or god or science or whatever the fuck it is that places the ideas inside the mind one does not create on their own; trying to convince me to feel hated and worthless.

All I want to do is run from it.  Wild and free.  As my mind races and my thoughts scatter while I bounce around from frown to frown, I fell down.

I'll need to pick up the pieces and put this puzzle back together before I can be what you folks out there most likely expect of me, consistently.

My pain, should not hurt you, but my honesty was all I could do.

Just kidding.

Firstly... RICH PRICK TRAITOR!

We expect nothing. Get used to it because nothing is a big pair of shoes to fill.

is the 3D'ish one above the devil new? On the new hardware? It looks new. It looks deep

This rich prick is rusty as fuck once inside the art studio. I scrapped everything and felt miserable then tried again and scrapped that. Eventually just dug through the archive. Which is massive.

You need more miserable. Miserable makes artists arty. At least that's what Hollywood has taught me and I learned everything from Hollywood.

Lol, I bet your archive is a beast of epic proportions!

Wow

I enjoyed every breathe you took while writing each words, sentences and paragraphs. I felt as though I was inside of you, except, you found ways to prove me wrong. This you did when you shake me off balance with the side jokes, the truth, and most of the lies about being in jail (for instance).

Taking a break from the internet is good. Oftentimes, the people on the internet are sad, they are not happy. They wish the likes, comments, and replies, will make them feel better about themselves.

What they tend to forget is that, no one can make them happy, except, themselves. They have to figure out the things their hearts beats for, and follow it. Even if it means to disappear for a while, the way you did.

It's amazing to meet you today, sir, and I am happy it's perfect timing. Cos you are back, and I can't wait to reach into the other wilder part of you, whether your arts or your writing. I am hoping that one of these days, I'll be able to get inside you, and you won't be able to kick me out with your endless surprises.

Welcome back. It's a pleasure to have you back.

Man that one sentence in there in cursive reminded me of my own sentences. I don't know why I don't use period's as often, maybe it's trauma from all the times they cockblocked me except that one girl who didn't care and we were using my bed or maybe it's cause I learned german before english and apparently they do this as well.

While I was reading I kept thinking you should've had your laptop with you to write shit to post here later, then again aside from an internet connection maybe you also didn't have power. Would curators be pissed if you returned and started posting lengthy posts like these daily catching up on everything you've written offline?

If you didn't have internet nor power, what if you wrote shit on paper and then just uploaded photos of them into a post? Would you get downvoted cause it's not immutable?

Anyway, welcome back, nice to read you again. Stay awhile and listen.

I think I gave you shit once, years ago, for not using paragraphs... LOL!

I actually did do some writing while away. That's for my other life though. Actually got into gaming for a bit as well in the evenings. I had purchased so many over the years and didn't even download them, so I gave that some attention. Stocked up and headed out. I rarely go anywhere without a laptop. I had power. It's a cabin. Nothing spectacular. But I'd also go live in the bush for a couple days at a time with a small tent. Walk in walk out situation, or kayak. Lots of fishing.

One time long ago I actually thought about paper, pen then publishing the photos. I've seen people do it. Didn't get downvoted!

Thanks for the link but damn! MR Beast "use honey" ad blew the ears off my head.

Yeah it's so weird you can't just convert some jokes and maybe some random comic characters or something into like, millions, somehow, without ever charging a fee, or annoying people with pube trimmers.

I hope Elon Musk figures this out someday. Obviously nobody else can.

I am now so old that I have forgotten what the ups and downs are, so I now just take life as it comes.

Ps. I stuffed up with the upvote of your reply, as this Ecency upvote jumps automatically to max.

Oh yes they say that the peaks and the valleys were invented to test us and to form our characters.
So we take the bit between our teeth our ride them out.

Oh and yes, it does indeed catch up to one. So much that we seek for hiding places away from it all, just for some inner peace.

What was it like out there? Without being connected to the digital nipple? The real world has dealt me the most shit hand in 2021 and I use Hive as a way to escape from the reality, knowing full well I will have to make some life-changing decisions real soon. Maybe I should take a break and come back when the dust settles but part of me thinks that I need the escape while things get processed in the background, which they will one way or the other.

Nice to see you back, I'm learning there is no right or wrong way to deal with things out of our control. Just put out the fires when they appear infront of you.

This year has been tough on me. I just took it day by day and lived as simple as possible. Bounced around a bit but mainly centered in the middle of nowhere. There's a lot to say if I were to explain the detailed long version of the story but I do tend to keep my life private.

Disconnecting is a lot easier than it sounds but you have to stay busy. I still had entertainment as well with the laptop and some games, some movies. Was busy as well with some gigs. The radio for music LOL! Those things still work.

I recently returned to HIVE as well. I had to go away and do some time. Please consider joining the Farting Community and creating some "Fartwork" for the group. You can't spell Fart without Art. We have some games, contests, NFT's and all sorts of shenanigan's planned. $FART Token has been minted on HIVE-Engine which proves we are serious :). Butt seriously, we would be very happy to have you join the Farting Community and add your twist on all things Fart related.

And SO pleased you know where to put sticks - many Hyumis don't have a clue!

Here's a lil' xmas cracker joke I made up for my pal Sam who threw a party last week on this Chain. For your (happy I hope) memories:

Why did Santa's kitchen Dawg burst into tears?

And if don't come back it's because I'm probably dead and they haven't found my body yet.

Perhaps if they look for the ass mushrooms, they might find it. Ass mushrooms growing out the forest floor are usual a dead give away.

I was actually rather disappointed that the first story wasn't the real reason for your absence. It sounded like quite the adventure.

My ass shrooms were red and mushy. The taste was foul. If you're a picker, stay away.

That first part was 'loosely' based on a true story. For instance I was drunk in the forest and I was approached by a conservation officer who did actually keep looking down at my region while we were talking, making me feel really uncomfortable. But he just wanted to make sure I had a hunting and fishing permit.

I love you. Truly. I am sitting here with a goofy grin on my face, having missed the amazingness of your out of the box thoughts. Always a breath of fresh air.

I did some of that 'in the woods away from technology' over the summer, and it definitely shifted my perspective. Shined a light on the huge difference between many interactions online verses real life with the same people. In my responding comment on that other post I mentioned basically that my tribe all still hangs.out and loves one another- but if people were to go by things said on the net they would be convinced there was no way that was possible considering our very mixed bag of opinions and beliefs.

I definitely wanted this damn post, and hope to see many more :)

It's amazing how much healing can happen, out there. Brutal shock to the system coming back though. Still, I'm a bit tired today since I stayed up all night doing this but I noticed with a clear mind firing on all cylinders how much more focused and energized the realm within can be. It takes me back, reminds me of youth. Not just the memories of those days but the actual feeling of it, before all this stuff/devices took over.

I might be able to do more. Nothing forced though. None of that daily grind like we all used to do here. I think this only my seventeenth post for 2021.

Thanks for always being there, @dreemit.

I know exactly what you mean. There's a difference between remembering things in the way of a movie once watched, snapshots with all of what makes us alive removed; and remembering the way it felt, smelled, a layered textured memory of what it was actually like to be there. Being in nature and away from the digital, and people with their energy that can muddy things, forms a connection otherwise lacking. (I can also attain this when I smoke weed in my backyard sometimes :0)

A few days ago I did this, to get away and spend a few days with myself ... It is strong to carry the burden not having time for one, it is strong to have time writing to ensure food for your daughter ... It is strong to be made and a father at the same time, ... I lived that for a few days, being a little away from this world, living in Venezuela is stronger ...

Although getting ahead in my country Venezuela, I have not made excuses is to be in a country that corruption consumes it, I have come forward despite so many things, Thanks Hive to Leofinance helped me in ensuring my daughter's food and her cases ...

Glad you enjoyed it. All I could really gift out this year are a few smiles and maybe some laughs. I hope that's what you wanted. And I'm glad it wasn't defective, kicked around by the currier, or stolen off your porch. These bastards have been fucking me around lately. Costing me all kinds of money. Sorry it wasn't wrapped. I've got my heart set on Montana one of these winters. For a week maybe. I don't think my body would tolerate anymore. Anything after that the locals would just have to throw me into the pile of Floridan tourists turned icicles and shake their heads. Another one - stayed a little too long.

In winter us cold weather people can tell who the warm weather people are just by looking at their clothes and the way they walk. And for some strange reason they think slightly hunching, pushing their shoulders up, and opening their mouths, will somehow make things feel warmer.

Ha, I can see it - I'm going to be very self-conscious the next time I'm in the cold. Maybe they feel like their breath is going to somehow create a warming aura around them. It is the same here but the opposite. You can tell northerners, if not by the accent, by the way they always have sweaters and closed-toed shoes even in the middle of summer. Natives have toes showing 11 months out of the year here :)

There's the one and only Creativemary, emerging from the trees herself. I know how you like that place. So peaceful yet behind any rock or thick brush could be something willing to eat me. Thank you for the gift of hug. I'll open it later.

Hahahah I am so happy that I will make enough time during these holidays to have my long walks in the woods. I look forward to it as there are way too many people in the city. I was actually wondering if there are any costs one has to pay extra if they buy their own forest. Because I dream of buying my own forest lol. Some people told me that you are supposed to hire a guardian, something that is stated in the law. Anyway this is the thought that haunts me during these times, among others.

true. but most people start out by putting a toe in the water to see what lies beneath the surface. If you have small toes, that would be just one or two......

If I applied my style seen above and created caricatures based on you folks, it would take a very long time. I'd have to focus all my energy on just that project, for a very long time. LOL! Have I mentioned how long it would take? Could be fun but it's quite the undertaking. Pixel art done by hand would be easy and take a fraction of the time. Some of the pixel art NFTs people see are actually generated by software, and not people. For those all one has to do is create assets or 'layers' then have the computer mix and match like dressing a doll. That system could churn out 1000 different variations in almost no time once everything is prepped.

0
0
0.000
avatar

I am pretty sure that is what happened with the ones Marky made........

The folks' ones I think took more time......

and yes, why I say to start with one or two lol I know your art takes you a very long time with all its hiddenness inside

Yeah I'd 'guess' the folks edition was hand crafted.

And if I did one or two, I'd have do to one or two more. As a Canadian, I have a firm understanding of the snowball effect. It would be fun though. There's also the part about me having to go from time to time. I never know when I'm coming back. I need this flexibility. For me it's healthy.

First off, if you are using the liquify brush then you are one of the best in the game. Crisp work, mate.

I hate to say this, but the wait was worth it. I genuinely loved reading this. 2000+ words of pure entertainment.

Not saying your pain and IRL struggles are entertainment, but you know...

Also,

I've been using Krita to produce my stuff for quite a few years now. Not sure if that suite even has a liquify brush. I mainly place whatever colors I want, utilize several independent transparent layers, shape it like clay at times, or shade with the airbrush.

Krita does have liquify but apparently you do excellent without it. I was using gimp until now but I think I'll take a shot at Krita. Found solid reviews on it.

Krita is quite capable. I don't even use it to its full potential either. I like that it's free and open source. I also like (I actually read the fine print) anything created on it can be used commercially, for profit, no strings attached.

wow, that is some next level content lol. i was totally unprepared. where did you first start writing content online?

i realize that perhaps coming from a web3.0 twitter-clone i might have addled my brain with all of the short quick bursts of content there and it will take some adjusting to consume a full meal~

and i briefly considered adding a joke after the question in my first paragraph. tell me, if i had said "toilet store dot com?" after the question, would you have known i was being absurd? or would it have been better to have taken note that this blockchain is great because it's got a livejournal clone and what a thrill it will be if you're bringing emo back? it'll be at least a week before i would dare start making jokes like these, but when that day comes, i wanna make sure i'm prepared. thanks 😊

Holy Shit

I missed your message. Sorry I'm late!

When I started here I was a bit rusty but this isn't my first rodeo. I keep this project completely separate from anything else I've done. I don't talk about my other life, here. If I do I'm basically writing a story loosely based on life, like this one where the actual truth is, I got a gig then got fucked over. But that alone doesn't make for entertaining content.

Something funny I once did though was kill myself. Not suicide though. Had an online persona, quite popular, several years ago, but I got sick of it and faked that character's death, turning my back on the whole thing and never visiting the site again. I was really young when I did that though. Good times!

Yeah content like this is more like something you'd use twitter to share with. Those web 2.0 platforms to me were always more like content distribution platforms, mainly full of consumers, not creators, even though yes there's big names there, but all they share is their opinion. What I'm doing is more like a magazine article. Not a social media post.

With jokes. Please go hard with jokes and don't hold back if you have that skill! LOL

This place needs more life. When I started here years ago, it was all 'philosophers' it seemed. People trying to be all sophisticated with their idea sharing. Really uptight. When I started I tried to 'fit in', was writing boring essays, no art. The day I said "Fuck this, I'll just be me and these people will have to get used to it," was the day I actually got noticed and eventually paid. Started here with NOTHING and knew NOBODY. Things sure have changed...

haha it's okay, you had been responding to all my other comments so i figured either you had missed it.. or the thought had crossed my mind that you didn't like either my toilet store joke OR saying that i thought you were bringing emo back LOL. but only for a flash ahah.

i think i have a good sense of humor. i can say i do not like the stupid humor that i see on youtube that friends watch. i like witty humor, i like absurdity, i like a little nonsense, and i like language trickery.

but like what i did with my last image post here, that's a thing i tend to do. where if i have photos i am going to share, i like to create some kind of narrative. even though the image might be the focus, i can't emptypost. but in a case like that, the text is more like a little piece of candy with it. i WILL admit that by the time i was writing the text for the last 2 images, i actually began to feel sick to my stomach. i can't write that kind of absurdity without putting myself somewhat into that mindset and it's not always the most pleasant thing lol.

and like this, i posted it on the other platform about an hour ago. i had a photo of my cat, i like to post my cats occasionally (i'd already posted very very lengthy posts earlier). but once i uploaded the photo, i had to come up with something.

11401398_10104669354128925_8908545272192399977_n.png

"oh no. my youngest gray cat had gotten to my older cat. clearly, this cat is drunk. but where did my youngest gray cat find more beer? i refused her recently.

ah! what's that noise? before i could even look, i felt something pierce into my lower back. damn it! it's a cat claw! i jumped up and down. "why do these claws just appear in my back! what kind of ghost cat is doing this and why!"

just then, the youngest gray cat appears from under the bed and bites me on my hand.

so it wasn't a ghost.

my older cat cackles maniacally, dancing and meowing."

... so yeah on its own i would say it would be all the same to not have written text at all. but, these stories about my "youngest gray cat" have been ongoing. sometimes i even write poems even though i am not a fan of poetry lol.

she knows no mercy, she cares not that you fear
she is unrelenting in her pursuit of more beer

... i happen to think this content is very cool and interesting. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶ and quickly i become a superstar, this is magic that i bring with me perhaps from my love of my cats. so maybe sometimes i pretend when i write to you that i am "very serious sometimes" and that i do not want to come across too silly, but this is only a part of my kitty-cat-find-the-fact fact-finding mission to learn more about my surroundings. that is correct, i am very intimidating sometimes~

two other examples, if you don't mind visiting links, it's totally fine if you do not want to go offsite lol

here is a meme i just did because this celeb person wrote a 2 word message and it sent my mind immediately somewhere. (he posts about being "all dripped out" to explain part of it, maybe you know who this person is though? lol)
https://diamondapp.com/posts/b3bc4d6c744de2d12c158d4946adcfc2d51e390a28ff00935b76a723856cd4e5

and here's me writing super long stuff, about my ideas and thoughts on issues with that platform
https://diamondapp.com/posts/d40cb75c5905a2d6e3d3e27b80aa034a66259178d43e34787ce9aba28bc2c42f

also just wanted to say that i do sell my toilet and bath water, i should have mentioned this earlier

I rarely miss messages but I get a lot some days, everywhere, plus I'm multitasking, so some get lost. Shit happens. And my first natural instinct is to find things funny so your jokes were fine. I'm just not the type to be all like ahahahahahahahahahaha. Either I answer back with a joke, play along, or just let this human entertain me. Been in a serious mood lately. I bounce around like that. Multifaceted. Might see me around the block talking business in one space, being serious, as I'm in another space adding the word dick to everything. Gets pretty fucking ridickulous sometimes...

Me being serious: https://peakd.com/art/@nonameslefttouse/big-deal

Me being totally fucked up: https://peakd.com/art/@nonameslefttouse/teaching-you-how-to-draw-a-goddamn-clown

Psst no offence but that other site looks kinda cheap. Hive is more than just content creation and consumption. For instance today stakeholders get two air drops. One for the new SPK network and another for the new Ragnorak game. I think that's today. I dunno. More money I guess, stuff to do, things to try. That's how it is here. Always something new, always more ways to make money. And it's just getting started.

oh no offense taken, i am a web developer and i am all-too-aware of the problems.

what i'll say in response to that is that within 1 month of joining, and i might have already said this but i mean it's the valid reason why i can deal with those problems, i had well over $1000 available to me.

things have not been as good since the listing on coinbase (this is another point in their favor for me, though, coinbase is preferred for me), but it is still going well for me there. i only just joined nov 13, but i think they launched in like march or april (not even with that website, i'm not sure when the site i use launched - october maybe). so you know, i have ~mid-level hopes~ based on everything else. i mean the website is not built by the people who created the blockchain, after all, and believe me i complain about it plenty trying to get some traction so that someone will do something.

i mean, i guess i don't know how much money you're talking about. i felt like going from 0 followers day 1 to having an account worth over $1k in a month is pretty good. i mean i did put in a lot of work for that of course.

but- here, let me find this link. i'll just screenshot the page to save you the trouble.

(as you can see i have not actually gone to sleep like i was supposed to)

postss.png

i mean, the sites there lack such basic things it's maddening. but in my opinion, as creators, there shouldn't be like a competition between the sites. maybe people in charge or who don't create but simply would benefit from creators sticking to one place whether or not it's to their best benefit, but as far as i'm concerned, whatever we can do to help make sure any of these places continues is great for all of us. i tried to tell people exactly how to start off here and they didn't follow my instructions LOL. (i even offered to write their posts but that was jokingly said ahha) one of the guys has art that WOULD fit in perfect in that community.

anyway in my opinion since that place is quick twitter, and this one is not, it's not like the craziest thing to be able to visit both and still stay engaged. and if all the creators had presences in each place, that helps us as creators. we can't be our only audience of course, right? but if we stick together somewhat, we do help boost each other's posts and help break the ice maybe when it comes to comments on posts.

but, i see you are VERY big fish here, at least, on my list of follows, your HP is like astronomical lol. i don't know what that REALLY translates to and i'm not asking that, but maybe you would simply have no need to do it. but i bet there are plenty of creators here who could benefit from doing a bit of tag team between sites. i mean in the end, it's about helping platforms by providing content and engagement, and helping other creators out also, and all of this helps me. plus, it's fun :D

I've been in this game since 2016. It used to be called Steem and the site was steemit. That still exists but Justin Sun came along and tried to take us over. We just put our middle fingers up and forked, carried on business as usual, while they drove that place into the ground. I've seen plenty of these crypto platforms spring up and die, but I'm not trying to discourage you.

I admire your passion for these projects and thousand bucks is a thousand bucks. I used to HATE money until I got into doing this stuff and crypto but now that I'm in charge of my own shit, doing my thing my way and doing it well; changed my life.

When we forked I think I had built up about 36k STEEM so I still had that and HIVE was just a mirror image so I got another 36k while the prices basically matched. Then I diversified and also bought in here, for a lot cheaper. One thing I want to do with Hive at some point in the future is cram a nice stack of HBD into that savings account. It's paying out 12%, live off the interest. So that's in the works just waiting for the right time. Hive needs to be worth a lot more of course. But it's a potential option.

But you know even on this site, I've watched countless people come, not really appreciate it, somewhat take it for granted, cash out, gone, and for what? A shiny new BBQ? I like to plant my seeds, not eat them. So I look for opportunities and play the long game. This ones working out. If you see potential there, do it. This platform back in 2016 was horrendous! This shit takes time right and you need people who care to stick around and help build it up. One of the first things I told you, "Ignore the haters." The fud and all that. They've been wrong for almost six years! I don't like those negative voices gnawing away on my skull trying to fuck my life so I can sit at the bottom and pout with them. This shit can change the world. It already has.

Plenty of people post multiple instances of the same content across several crypto platforms. But that doesn't offer the consumer any reason to visit any one in particular. I took the exclusive route in order to drive as many eyes to one place. It's business. There's one crucial element missing here though and I've been hounding this community for years to get onboard with me. I'll explain if you're interested but this message is fucking long.

ohh i don't mean posting the same content when i talk about going to both platforms. sure, maybe there is some OF the content that goes both places - for instance, those images i posted, i definitely posted them at the other platform. but not all at once, and not with any kind of story.

that's not at all what i was talking about. to me the platforms are different enough where the content simply is different without even giving it any thought.

but, i also don't know that all blockchain social platforms will survive. crossposting on platforms probably won't really be noticed by normal users, if anything you're just helping your own content reach a wider audience. i think it makes sense for a creator to go around platforms, i think it makes less sense as just a normal user. (but i mean, it's totally cool too) so if crossposting helps 1 of the platforms at all, at least it's helping.

though yeah i definitely wasn't talking about like writing the same shit on both places and then using the same comments and stuff. THAT would really be gross.

People do it though. Drives me nuts. I can probably find several accounts here that copy paste the exact same post to steemit, blurt and so on. What they're doing is posting just for rewards, not an audience. Each platform, including this one, focuses mainly on onboarding creators, but no consumers. So it's up to the creators to also double as the consumers and it's the same problem on each platform they copy/paste to.

Can you imagine what something like Youtube would be if it was comprised mainly of creators. That's simply not how this business works. There needs to be one instance of content, like a video, and several thousand if not millions of eyes on that prize. One video, one million views, 69k likes, 5k comments. Then a distribution platform like twitter helps as well to share that one instance of content and drive more eyes to that prize. Social media comes in a variety of forms and serves different purposes. Like browsing Facebook, you're offered links to articles for instance. They don't publish the article on Facebook. Facebook is jammed with billions of consumers. AKA "Market" and publishers tap into those eyes. Sure there's the regular Joe's posting pictures or whatever, but you'd never sell your family photo album. I think that was just a trick to get people, or a market, locked into one space.

You're experiencing this lack of consumers right now like several others. You published. Crickets. Where is everyone? I'm telling you.

But we're sitting on a goldmine here with the way this support system works. The potential hasn't been realized yet. There's only myself and a couple others who can actually see what's there. Eyes seem to go crossed when I try to explain it though.

so i'm just commenting here instead of commenting on your old post, but i just read calling it quits, and this is the kind of silly humor with language that i enjoy. certainly there are (in my opnion) fine lines between cute/clever <-> tryhardiness, and then between tryhardiness <-> the funny kind of absurd/nonsensical, when it comes to doing stuff like that. i liked your post, i'm not going to say i'm an expert to judge it and tell you it was excellent, but for me, i was pleased when i realized what happened. (resounding praise right? ahhaa i'm just tired, i did really like it)

i did want to ask if you make the images. i feel like i recognize Quits from something lol.

and your avatar really does have a big influence on who i picture is writing your posts. that's all i'll say though. now it's time for sleep 😎

Yes I produce the artwork. All of it. From scratch, digitally. Self taught. This particular style can only be found here. But yes, every single image on my blog was produced by, me. All mine.

Here's one of my awesome tutorials: https://peakd.com/life/@nonameslefttouse/shading-an-ass-face

LOL. very nice tutorial.

i definitely didn't mean my question to imply i thought it would have been some slight against you btw. but i also certainly understand wanting to make sure it's clear that it is yours. i probably wouldn't have understood that before november 13th, but i know i definitely take pride in the sheer amount of images and videos that i have made from scratch, and though i do post other images also, it's a small percentage.

some of the content here reminds me of like stuff i remember seeing when i was a kid on somethingawful. which is a good thing in my opinion. (when i was a kid, not recently, the site became weird i think lol)

i kinda become a snob on memes because i never just take those templates and put text on them. and i spend like hours making mine, not knowing if it's even going to be that funny. i've wasted many hours before finding out i simply couldn't execute something in a way that would be funny enough.

LOL! How many conversations are we having?

I'm with you on being original and I know how hard trying to create 'funny' actually is. There's the lazy route. Political humor. Basically pick a team and tell them what they want to hear... blah. Not for me. Too generic.

And yes I edited the comment. I spelled blog wrong....

Don't ask me how I fucked that one up.

bob loblaw's law blog

i asked because 2 notifications seemed to go to the same URL and it was tripping me out. and yeah i think we're having 3 maybe? they don't feel all that disparate though, if anything it's nice to talk about different things. if we just had one comment thread, i bet we'd have simply stopped talking already!

and i would say, there IS political humor that works, but there's also political talk that isn't funny. i know what you're talking about but i don't think it legitimately fits the definition of comedy, regardless of if the messenger is labeled a comedian.

you ever watch The Life & Times of Tim? (total subject change here, i know)

Bob Loblaw. I love that name. It's too bad there's no names left to use, because I would have totally used that one.

And yes you're right, some of it works. Southpark as example. But Stephen Colbert these days as example, and that annoying prompted laughter... WTF? Are we living in 1975?

I haven't seen that, no. I'm a bit of a weirdo I think. If I'm here trying to get some work done, or elsewhere, it's only music. I tune out all the distractions in this world. No news, no politics, no movies, no games, no nothing. Just me, my brain, and some sound pumped directly into my ears. (two can play at this subject changing game)

also i just wanted to come online so you didn't think i had bailed on the platform ahahah

i made a new nft and i've been working on my website, so i haven't actually had time to post anywhere. i'll prob make a post here showing the nft and in-progess website screens and stuff, the nft i think i can show in some communities, the web stuff i'll prob just post to my own blog cause it's a personal site and i haven't gotten to any stuff that would make me want to show it to devs yet :D

yeah for sure i am going at my own pace, and i don't want to rush posts here or anything. but i don't intend to be developing this website i'm doing forever, and it sucks a lot of time out of my schedule! (and responding to comments is something i want to get to more quickly, even if i don't want to just rush posts)

you've mentioned people who come here and then bail quick, so you know, i don't want you to think you might have wasted time helping me get acquainted with the place. and ofc if for some reason i actually did intend to stop coming, if you can't tell this from things i've said already, i wouldn't do that without telling you specifically because you've spent so much time talking with me!

but honestly how could i leave, if only because it's been tons of fun having ~COMMENT BATTLEZ~ with you, even if i didn't like anything else, talking with you makes it worth it - ofc you seem to be kinda a big deal, so whenever you move on to another newbie if you haven't already, i'll try not to become TOO depressed about it ahaha

This responding to comment thing. Don't get me wrong, I love talking to people, especially when they're coming to my posts; but holy crap! There have been days this is all I've done. Still. I really enjoy it. These are the folks coming to my shop. What kind of shop owner ignores their customers? But I imagine if this place grows, I won't be able to get to everyone, all the time.

And those who bailed when I tried to help; I don't hold a grudge. This is life, right? People come and go. I've known what feels like thousands now. Some aren't here because they bailed. Maybe they don't have time. Other priorities. I'm still left with good memories. And if I see another interesting noob show up, that doesn't mean I turn my back on you. Look at all these people here. People fascinate me. I'm smiling or a least smirking. Having fun. You've been a blast to be around.

yeah no i know exactly what you mean, for me especially on the other blockchain where posts are quick twitter-like blasts, i can either be making posts for hours (where i mean time is spent in photoshop/etc in between actual posts), or i might get caught up in long comment threads for hours.

here you've been by far the most engaging, though i also send you a lot of questions and our comments tend to actually further along a conversation. i think i've replied to ALMOST every comment i've gotten here, but my responses to a lot of comments don't exactly lend themselves to further conversation since i might just be responding to someone with a "thanks" (though i usually include a bit more than that, if not always).

at the other blockchain, i can just like every comment without it "costing" anything (i can also do a kind of tip too which i usually do the base one which comes out to being approx $0.01), so if i don't further the comment thread i at least can give an easy indication of having read it.

and i wouldn't think you'd hold a grudge, but i personally would feel bad doing that, though i'm also just the kind of person where i literally can't imagine it happening unless i have some actual emergency in my life!

i'm still kinda trying to figure out how to really find other posts that i want to leave comments on. so far the only one that i really left a long comment on was a post about some kind of TRUMP coin LOL

I never got in to Twitter or shortform platforms. Even when I used Facebook I felt like the only one who could say more than one sentence. Also felt awkward writing my long ass status messages...

I put all that behind me. Bought a new laptop thinking there's no fucking way I'm putting Facebook on here. Having a device without it feels like being released from prison. Though I don't really know what that feels like except for that one time I got a bit drunk and yeah... spent the night. lol

You can always slide your vote value down to 1% and use that as a 'like' for comments. I think I mentioned that but I forget. 1% votes won't drain your power much. It'll be recharged in no time.

TRUMP coin? Another shitcoin I assume...

It can be difficult to find stuff to engage with. Some people create in a way where not much can even be said. It's just, there. But if you got to that Case for $100 Hive post on trending you'll see me and plenty of others talking. When there's a lot of comments, that usually a good indication you might have something to add. But at the same time, you don't know unless you click. Some awesome posts are quiet. That ties in a bit with what I was talking about before; lack of consumers.

Hey @jarvie! I hope you're doing well, and I hope you see this message. Kitty4D here seems to be experiencing some technical difficulties. If you have a moment, could you please look into this and help her out? Follow the comment thread. Thanks in advance.

There you go. Maybe he'll see it. PeakD is his baby.

I'm not sure what's happening there. PeakD has been really good to me. Though at times if a post has a lot of comments, it's hard to connect the conversation. Thanks for stopping in. As you can see, I'm up to the old, "Attempt to explain Hive to a new and enthusiastic member, all while unintentionally creating even more confusion as things progress." But I don't mind helping.

At the top of PeakD, between the 'communities' and search bar, I'd like to see the word 'help'. And in there I'd like to see all the available reading material produced by the team you work with, as well as community members. Front and center, Jarvie. 'Help'. I think that would, help. Any new project could submit documentation and have it placed there, updated as they see fit. This not only helps new members. It helps the projects.

I believe something like that should take place before you folks amp up your efforts getting the word out. I've been following the PeakD story. I want to see you folks succeed. Doing such a good job so far.

heyy so maybe you can field a couple other questions if you don't mind. looks like i got a payout from ~one of my posts?~

i see in my history an author award and a content reward. then i see a "claim rewards" because i claimed, which only shows the numbers from the author reward.

i don't see how to claim the content reward.

also, for the witness thing, should i just give all my votes out asap or over time? i just mean, is there some benefit to me by giving the votes out. i see something about the interest rate being dependent on witnesses.

and for like my PORN tokens, the PORN POWER says: "and allow you to earn on curation rewards." - i guess this means if someone includes one of my posts in a curated feed? but presumably this only means in curated posts on this tribe's site?

0
0
0.000
avatar

So any pending rewards will show up here:
https://peakd.com/@kitty4d/wallet

Everything. Doesn't matter what. Here's what mine looks like right now:

Screenshot (7).png

That little bit I haven't claimed yet is probably from someone voting a comment of mine somewhere.

So here's how it works. If the post says $100, you'd get roughly half; fifty bucks. That fifty would be split into HBD and HP. I think it's half and half. So 25 bucks worth of HP and 25 HBD in this scenario. I could be wrong with that split, but that split exists.

Curation rewards, you won't get much. That pays in HP and if you don't have much HP, you don't get much of a curation reward. Curation rewards come standard every time you vote, but yours are small. Build up the HP to see curation reward. Some people think it's a ripoff that they only get half their post payout but when you build up HP, and vote, you make up for some of that fifty percent you lose (technically it's not a loss it just looks that way).

Witnesses. You're free to vote however you see fit. That's also stake based. The more HP you have, the more say you have in governance. Someone with 75k HP like me can push a witness much higher up the rankings than someone with 75 HP. That low number would barely move that witness. It's good to learn about them though, and their projects if they have any. Snoop around when you have time.

https://peakd.com/me/witnesses

You can also vote by proxy. Basically hand that responsibility over to someone else. I personally don't recommend doing that though. That's how a lot of folks lost out on the initial HIVE token snapshot. They handed their voting rights over and the one voting for them voted in favor of a sybil attack. Those people were excluded from Hive because it was the sybil attack we were moving away from. Certainly can't build a new chain that comes with a sybil attack already in the governance. And for some strange reason, people couldn't wrap their heads around that...

For those PORN tokens what they're saying is, if you stake them, you earn curation rewards. That means when you vote other posts and comments within that Tribe. But if you have them staked and use Peakd to vote, provided it's still a post from that Tribe (they can still be viewed and interacted with on peakd) what you'd be doing is voting with your HP and your Porn Power.

https://peakd.com/@kitty4d/wallet/hive-engine

So there I see you have roughly 500 power and just over 200 liquid. If you staked the 200, your vote for that tribe would be worth more, and you'd earn more with that vote. Same system with Hive.

If this is confusing. I'm not bored with trying to help you.

0

so here -

image.png

the Author reward, i see I claimed. what's the content reward?

(or is that the amount that was split up and where the author rewards are coming from, even though in terms of the chronological order it's shown in, it would seem to make more sense being shown with the content reward first?)

also, i assume it makes sense to put those HBD into savings, but i assume that's what i could have tried to withdraw as USD if i wanted to, right?

and the HP that i received, eventually i could power down some amount of it to get plain Hive tokens, to do whatever with? but it seems like the HBD is kinda more for potentially withdrawing, since the HP helps boost the earning ability resulting in more HBD over time.

i didn't quite understand what you meant about staking the PORN and then voting from peakd. did you mean that that might be a good thing? or just that i should be aware that if i upvoted from outside the context of the tribe for posts on that tribe, that i would be using more than just their token. i mean, maybe i would consider it a good thing, depending.

and so this also only represents that single post so far. i'm not sure how i got porn tokens already, since none of those posts are as old, but i think those posts eventually would also possibly payout hive?

and also this particular post that is shown, i can no longer receive votes on, is that right?

thanks!!

The content reward is nothing. I see the post that paid out was worth that much on the surface. The number below is what you received. Your half, broken down into HBD and HP. If you add it up together, it's half of $3.88. Ignore 'content reward'.

I put my HBD into savings. That's just me giving myself a 12% raise. You can also exchange it for HIVE then power the hive up into HP if you wanted. Be careful with the conversions. Converting and the internal market are two very different things. You can lose money converting if you don't time it right. The market would be, selling HBD and buying HIVE, like an exchange. Converting HIVE to HBD should only be done when HBD is showing it's worth 1.25 or more. I think PeakD actually describes it a bit better when someone attempts to do it. Be careful with conversions.

Or yes you can always ditch the HBD. It's pegged to a buck ish. It's your money. Do whatever you want.

You'll need to keep some HP in your account otherwise you can't transact, or vote, or comment, or anything. That's what gives you resource credits.

It takes 13 weeks to fully powerdown. Whatever amount you powerdown, divided by 13. One payment each week. But again, never fully powerdown. Leave some otherwise you screw yourself. But if those delegations still exist, you'll have resource credits. They put that there to help you though. Eventually you need to stand on your own feet, by either buying in, or earning.

Those Tribes are so damn confusing. So you have two tokens. Hive and Porn. When you vote, you're tipping Hive and Porn, provided you have hivepower and porn power (lol what a name). BUT, say it's a post about ducks, not in the porn tribe. You won't be giving the duck lover and porn tokens, only hive. If the content is in the porn tribe, you give both. Confused more? LOL

I voted for your recent post. You used 'creativecoin' tag. I own CCC tokens, and several others. So, when I voted, I gave you the standard HIVE, plus CCC tokens on top of that. Confused more?

Here we are talking. Tribe tags on my post are: VYB, Neoxian, Creativecoin and POB. So when I vote for your comments here, because of those tags, you'll receive the standard Hive stuff, vyb, neoxian, creativecoin, but you won't get POB, because I don't have any POB tokens staked or powered up. I don't have to visit each frontend for those tribes to give you these tokens. I can do it on Peakd. Or I can do it on one of those tribe frontends. Same effect. Some people setup multiple accounts to handle all this nonsense. I personally don't care enough to be bothered and just, push the button, whenever. I literally don't care about 'maximizing'.

I think someone maybe hooked you up with an airdrop. Welcome to Hive LOL. Tokens fall outta the sky here all the time. See my Hive engine wallet? I don't even know how I got most of those...

And yes, after seven days the post is dead. It can still receive votes but they won't pay. This system is designed for the way content is created these days. A steady stream of new stuff. People can still tip you though with old work. So it's not like it's dead dead. Just dead to votes.

0
0
0.000
avatar

where do you think i got an airdrop from?

and yeah that's all confusing. i honestly didn't realize that potential benefit of having tagged it with creativecoin, i thought maybe that would allow it to be shown in some other community. i had looked at other posts in alienarthive and was taking note of the tags people used.

I'll check...

Screenshot (8).png

They gave me some as well, when it started.

And yeah Creative Coin is Tribe, just like Dporn. They give CCC. I don't know if they're actively developing anymore though.

But I'd say you did the right thing because it puts the content in front of that market. So you put that post in the alien art community, which would be a market of potential consumers. Creativecoin market. Your own list of followers is a market. Not much different than posting across several platforms.

yeah so that person was helping me, that's when i received that :)

i think they might be taking over control of that tribe, and want to have actual creators on it who are verified and eliminate all the stolen content, so it was a kind of mutually beneficial thing to get me set up where i could make a post there lol

somehow people doing nsfw stuff on these blockchains tend to find me, i don't really know how it happened immediately on hive cause i'm not crazy enough to think people are watching my profile like that anywhere LOL

Some of my best friends are Irish. Born in Canada though.

Yes, I like that people seem to want to hold onto these roots and it is understandable as your ancestors typically are only on your Continent for 200 to 400 years typically. It's always nice to have that nod and connection to the past, in fact I was only writing about this yesterday, as I have some old China (cups and saucers) that when I pass them to my kids will be their Father's Father's Mother's Mother's cups. I think that's pretty damn cool - I really wouldn't want to be the one to break one by accident :)

Certainly wouldn't want to be responsible for breaking history. Apparently that could destroy the whole spacetime continuum or set the stage for unfavorable events in the future never destined to be. Or wait. No. That was Back to the Future. I always get these things mixed up.

I haven't been everywhere but I do know the west coast of Canada is one of the nicest places around. Massive flood disaster out that way this past year though. A few of my friends were affected. That's just the way the world goes sometimes I guess.

Hello.

if we are to act consciously in this dreamworld, it's essential we set our dream character person in stillness for some time each day, so that stillness (our true self) can shine through these bodies when we do act.

Really good to see you again. I know this post is 22 days old, but it still smells pretty. Pretty good I mean. Ok I can't really smell it, but I bet it smells ok. Oh and I particularly liked the flaming fingers on that one dude up there. Not a hint of blue in the flame, that's some dirty gas methinks.

Okay now I'm going to read the newest post.

Yeah, remember? You took the lens cap off and even wiped off the smudges. After that, it was awkward, the things I saw!
