GAMING MIGHT JUST BE YOUR TICKET TO FREEDOM.

I was having conversations with my friend about NFT games on hive, which I am indifferent about because most of them are boring and the only real incentive to play is the money. However, he did make some valid points about gaming on hive that had me rethinking my position.

Hive is predominantly a social platform (I don't think this statement is accurate since most of the activities on the blockchain come from splinterlands and other NFT gaming dapp on hive, but you get my point) and that comes with a lot of caveats since it is a money generating machine.

For instance, you need to come up with decent content (daily if you want to make anything tangible) that often comes under the scrutiny of the gatekeepers (whales/orcas/dolphins/minnow/curators). They determine what you earn. But the policing doesn't stop there. You still have utilized your earnings in a manner that is deemed adequate by the gatekeepers or your support is withdrawn.

Now, these gatekeepers are not necessarily bad or mean people, they are all working in the interest of the blockchain (and theirs as well), but no one in the bottom ranks appreciates this level of policing and it always causes discord on the blockchain.

So now imagine forgoing all these rules and the stress of engaging with people you don't like for a buck or two, and just playing games? You don't have to deal with the whims and caprices of the gatekeepers. Just have fun every day playing games and earning NFTs (or tokens). Sounds cool right?

I know people who haven't written in years on hive but make more than I do (thankfully we aren't doing this only for the money. Or so we tell ourselves). The reality is that you can as well, especially if you don't find writing fulfilling in any way.

Unlike the social side of hive, no one dictates what and when you earn while gaming. The ball is all in your court. With some time and capital investment, you should be fine. It is not an easy feat but it is worth exploring if you do not fancy the blogging route.

However, if you do enjoy sharing your thoughts; if you do enjoy having conversations, then writing is the thing for you. Yes, it can be difficult; yes there are rules; yes there will be prying eyes gauging your progress, but do it anyway (you are above those complications).

The best advice would be to do both--gaming and blogging (if you have the time). As I said early I don't enjoy gaming as much as I once did but I can't deny that it's becoming an important part of the hive blockchain which presents a significant earning opportunity.

Also, by gaming and blogging, you get to alternate between the two options on most days which takes the pressure of doing both activities.

Currently, I started playing Rising Star. Looking forward to Ragnorak. I am still going to blog every day because it is what I enjoy. The point is, there are a lot of things to do on the blockchain and if you honestly aren't finding fulfillment in creating content and you don't want to deal with the plethora of rules that comes with blogging then maybe you should explore NFT games.

NFT gaming will be more lucrative than blogging in the nearest future. So if you are all about the money then you should channel your energy in the right place.
