WHAT'S YOUR IDEAL SIDE HUSTLE?

Lately, I have been thinking of a side hustle--something I can do in my spare time to generate extra income. Fortunately the crypto sphere offers me several income streams. On hive alone, I have an average of five income streams. However, I am not so comfortable with the fact that most of my income comes from crypto alone.

When the bear run kicks in my income would take a hit. In the last bear run we saw people's portfolios go down by 90% (although I don't think that will be the case during the next bear run) and the thought of that alone is scary. A lot of people haven't recovered from the trauma of the last bear run.

I will still get by during the bear run when it occurs but the goal is not to get by but thrive.

My goal is to have at least 10 income streams that bring in about $500-$1000 monthly. This way I can sustain my current lifestyle and long-term investment plans. Also, I want to diversify my income streams to cover three areas: crypto, transport, and housing.

Most of my income comes from my human capital--investing my time and skill. I want to reduce that by 60 percent and I have a personal deadline of 13 months to achieve this. I probably haven't mentioned this before but I want to stop actively writing on hive by the end of 2022.

I do enjoy writing and it's probably something I will continue to do all my life, but not actively on hive and for several reasons I would want to keep to myself. So if I do achieve some of the goals I have mapped out for 2022 I will stop writing and focus on other areas of interest I have on hive.

I have seen a couple of people move from being content creators to project developers. I envision the same for myself. However, I won't be able to achieve much if I stay hooked to earning. I want to create value in a different way.

What would I be doing? Asides from chasing my MBA, I want to become a web developer. Started my journey last year but took a detour this year for several reasons. I have some ideas I would like to develop that will bring a lot of value to the blockchain and myself.

Plus, if I want to be financially free I cannot be banking on upvotes. And in all honesty, I am tired of the debate and dream associated with the allocation of the reward pool and the stigma attached to being a top earner on hive. There is more I can offer and I want to bring those things to fruition.

As a side hustle, I was planning to run Uber/Taxify service in my spare time, but cars are really expensive. I am having second thoughts about purchasing one. However, the returns are great. I can double what I earn here monthly in a week or two by just driving people around.

Secondly, I have a property I have been developing for some time now. Although I did place that on hold this year because it was taking a chunk of income and not generating revenue. I could look into that next year but that will be based on how my other plans go.

Another potential side hustle would be freelancing. I wanted to start a freelancing company with my friends, but I don't think they are open to the idea. It is also something I can do personally but I write on hive already. Plus, I don't want more things eating out of my time. I would like to focus on becoming a web developer.

There are still other things I plan to explore in the next 13 months. I'm in a better position to achieve most of my goals. Also, I want to diversify away from crypto to control my risk exposure. Everything looks bubbly at this point and that doesn't sit well with me.

I think web development is the way to go. I plan on delving into it next year but then again, I plan on delving into a lot of things next year. There's so much to know and such little time in a year. However, I believe in starting. Working on a few projects on Hive with your web development skills would be awesome. Bolt will be time-consuming and it's outdoors, so risky too. In the end, whatever decision you make would be right for you. And you'll thrive either ways.

Wanting to do too much with so little time, frustrating. But this is the best shot we have at having everything we want, so I am going to take it

Certainly and way more rewarding if you ask me.

Bolt will be time-consuming and it's outdoors, so risky too.

Sigh. I know. Looking more at the money aspect than the risk. God help me make the right decision

In the end, whatever decision you make would be right for you. And you'll thrive either ways.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your comment

That right there is the millionaire secret. You need a little stash of stable coins or cash for that eventually. Not to spend, but to buy in.

True that. It is part of the plan as well

You can always cash out some crypo while it's high, if that's genuinely the best way to earn. I'm sorry to hear that you won't be writing here much longer :( ...

Oh - but that really makes it hard for you. I find if I don't post often, it becomes harder to get one written 😂 This power up month has really helped me to get in a good habit. With no margin for error, the posts are starting to come easier every day.

The source of income I really when to invest my time on right now is hive, with it I believe I can help my career and build it.
The past few months have spent here, it has taken me far beyond I expected of this year. Hive is life!
