Weekend 198- out of control society
Hi guys. This is the first time I am writing something here. I want to contribute my thoughts in this community. I hope I will be welcomed by you all. Do let me know if I commit any mistakes.
I think that the society is spiralling out of control. Humanity is turning to its worst form and I am not saying it just as an opinion. There are hundreds of examples in the society at global level. We can see that the turbulent and traumatic experiences are still very persistent.
I would like to first put to light the persistence of wars and genocides. How can we human beings sleep comfortably at night knowing that each day hundreds or even thousands of innocent people are losing their lives in Middle East and in Ukraine. Global leadership is doing nothing in this regard and it makes me think that the society is spiralling out control. I believe the reason for that is primarily the hunger and lust for global domination. Human beings are slaughtering other fellow human beings at what cost?
Further, I find the consumption of internet were alarming. The attention span of this generation is lowering as the research of multiple institutes puts forth. The nature and account of content these days is very disturbing. People are earning from youtube and other platforms by uploading cringe and unhealthy content that is sending a negative message to younger generation. It is normalizing violence. This is yet another reason that makes me think that the society is spiralling out of control.
I can go on and discuss further persecution of human rights at different levels. I can also discuss the catastrophe of climate change. We know how lethal climate change can be, we still continue to disturb nature and add to the factors contributing to climate change.
I think this is enough for today. There are a lot of positives too that should be our focus in this regard. All is not lost yet. All we have to do is build a sense of unity among different people and diversities. A peaceful coexistence, I think, is the only way to control the society.

STOPBut wars are nothing knew though. Wars have been happening since forever. It dates far back. We've had world war 1 and world war 2, etc. I don't think it means society is spiraling out of control though. I don't want to go too deep in the rabbit hole but all this is just politics, greed and various factors. As long as humans exist, all this will keep happening yet we have moved forward. Society still lives people are living. We aren't killing our neighbors yet or I guess some people are but you know what I mean.
As for the internet one, I think it's the same thing. It doesn't mean we are spiraling out of control but I can see how you may feel that way because of the potential negative impact. I'm trying to think of a comparison. Let's say scamming. Scamming has always been around but the internet has made it a lot easier but this is just what happens. There will always be bad actors or something negative but as a society we have moved forward.
Of course this is all my opinion and view.
