Greetings to you my amazing Hive family, I trust you are doing great today. Remain blessed as you go through my entry for this contest.

I welcome you to my entry on the 58th (02) week of the Hive Learner's featured post, where I would be sharing what I was popular for back in high school.

Wheather you are an introvert or extrovert, they're things you are most likely known for back in school. Schools are usually where most of times are spent when we were growing up.

What I Was Popular For Back In High School

Right from my elementary days in school, I was a runner, lol. Like I love engaging in racing competitions with fellow students just for fun.

During break periods in school, my friends and I would go out to play just like every other students, but unlike other students we rather engage in rough plays ( includeimg wrestling and running competitions among ourselves).

When I got to high school, that habit performing sport activities had not left me, and I was constantly looking for ways to engage in sport activities for my school. It was what I enjoyed doing during my free periods.

I think this habit grew in me as a result of the fact that I loved watching Usain Bolt race so much. He is my idol, and I love watching him perform.

Here Was Where I Made An Impact In My High School

We had a neighboring school in our area with almost as many students as our school. It was like a competition between our school and theirs, as we competed for almost everything from quiz/debate competition to inter-school sports.

As students of Army Day Secondary School, we never wanted to see Dejoy High School defeat us in anything either academically or otherwise.

Before I came to that school, It was on record that Dejoy were better than us in terms of sport activities, while we were better in academic activities.

Although it was a thing of joy for my school to be better in academic, as that was the sole purpose of coming to school, but I felt we could do better.

Over the past years, they were no good runners in our school and so we had a hard time challenging for sport activities. But here I was being afraid to compete for what I thought I was good at.

I was in my second year and I felt pressured already to deliver my school in this year's inter-school sport competition. I trained hard for that race, as I was among the selected students to engage in the race competition representating our school.

On the day of the race, it came to past that I delivered excellently well in the Junior boys section. It was even easier than I imagined, and I was the best runner in the junior boys category.

But something remarkable was yet to happen, something that would change my whole identity in my school. The guy that was supposed to compete for the senior boys was injured as a result of performing other sports activities.

It was left for a substitute to come into the picture and deliver our school. To my greatest surprise they was no worthy substitute to represent our school.

After so much deliberation and search, I was called upon to represent the senior boys even though I had performed for that day. At first, I said "No" because I knew I was not as good as those guys of the other school.

I later agreed since no one was there to challenge those boys. It was a 200 meters race, which required speed and endurance.

I came out to accept the challenge, and I could hear murmurs and arguments. Alot of my school mates began to support and encourage me into the competition.

I was no longer nervous, and I was ready for the outcomes of the race. We heard go, and I was immediately in front of the race and avoided anybody from passing me till I got to the finish line.

It was like a dream come through as I was lifted up by the students of my school. I had already done what I taught I would do in the final period of my high schooling days.

From that day on, I was called "Flash" because fellow students thought I was very fast, lol. Flash was my nickname from my second year till my sixth and final year, as I was constantly representing my school and winning awards with my athletism.

For the question of whether I am still active in it, I would say no. I don't run again except for fun or when the needs arises.

Conclusion

Where ever we go as humans, we should try as much as possible to keep positive marks and records, which we would be remembered for.

Thanks for your time here.
