Another exciting opportunity to commend and appreciate the hard working users of this great Hive platform. And a bigger appreciation to both the Admin and moderators involved in the building of the Hive Learner's community.

They say a picture could mean a thousand words, and sincerely this is very true. Memories can be recalled and emotions can be felt on the sight of just one picture.

I welcome you to my entry on the 62th (03) week of the Hive Learner's featured post, where I would be sharing a picture about my current location (245 Recce Battalion, Ikom, Cross River State).

The image I shared above is the image of my current location which is an Army Barrack at Ikom, Cross River State, Nigeria. I had to share this place with my lovely Hive friends because of the memories attached to it.

I grew up here, and equally went to school here too. Infact I literally learnt about 70% of what I know now in this place. Although this is the entrance gate of my location, they are lots of memories attached to it.

For instance, I equally posted this picture on my Facebook story, and the comments and reactions I got from old barrack boys and girls were emotional, given the fact that most people lost their loved ones here too.

This barrack is over 50 years old, with not less than 30 thousand people living in it every year. There's this popular slogan about the barrack which is "Soldier go, Soldier come, but barrack still remain" which means that the barrack is meant to see different types/kinds of people pass through it.

The major reason I decided to share this picture with you is that today is the 54 anniversary of the barrack, and it's been celebrated in a grand style this year. Just this evening, I have seen and captured some joyful events that would make me smile anytime I recall it.

In this occasion, the Nigerian Army would organize an open party for all the people of the barrack to come and witness. It's a time when fallen heroes would be remembered and honoured.

This events includes dancing competitions from various tribes existing in the barrack, talent presentations from members of the audience, presentation of awards to the soldiers, tug of war, and many more.

I was able to attend and capture some funny moments too, which was precisely on the rug of war between the female soldiers and the male Soldier's wives.

As you can see, it was a satisfying day well spent in the right place. I share this with you today about my area, so I can come back here to recall the memory I had shared.

Over the years my Dad has gone to many wars and fought many battles but God has been faithful till the end. Because it's not by power, as I have seen and heard many gallant men gone down for the sake of fight and wars.
