Another interesting contest to participate on, and all thanks goes to the hardworking Admin/ moderators of this great community for setting this up.

I welcome you to my entry on the 64th (02) week of the Hive Learner's featured post, where I would be describing what a smartphone is all about to someone from the 60s.

How I Would Describe A Smartphone To Someone From The 60s

So if I am opportuned to go back in time and explain about a device that not only makes phone calls, but also acts as a computer, a camera, a GPS, or even a personal assistant, how would I start it.

I would start by telling them that there's something called technology, which has evolved to the extent that a device has been created which fits in the palm of your hand and can connect you to people all over the world in an instant.

In simple terms, I would tell them that a smartphone is a device that combines the functionalities of a phone, computer, and camera. It is a pocket-sized, hand-held device that can do almost everything a computer can do, and more.

It usually comes with touchscreens and operates using advanced mobile operating systems. I would equally make them understand about connection of this devices to the internet, allowing access to a vast range of services, including social media, email, video calls, and even online shopping.

If they aren't very familiar with the terms I used in my previous explanation, I would just tell them that smartphones are is a personal digital assistant that keeps us connected to the world and all its opportunities.

Whether it's sending emails, browsing the web, streaming videos, or calling our loved ones, a smartphone is basically the all-in-one gadget that has revolutionized the way we communicate and stay connected.

Making It Clearer About The Features Of A Smartphone

I would have to go into more details about the features of a smartphone, because they aren't familiar with the technology.

I would tell them about having a cream have a virtual assistant (like Siri or Alexa) that can help you with tasks like setting reminders, making phone calls, or sending messages, just by speaking to the device.

One of the greatest features of a smartphone is it's camera. You can capture high-quality photos and videos using your smartphone camera, and instantly share them with friends and family via social media or messaging apps

And speaking of messaging apps, with a smartphone, you can use various messaging platforms (such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram) to communicate with people around the world in real-time.

Another key feature of smartphones is their ability to store and play music and videos. You can use apps like Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube to stream or download your favorite songs and videos directly to your phone.

Here, smartphone has a variety of storage capacities, ranging from 32GB to over 1TB, so we can store all our media content on the device with ease.

Conclusion

So basically, I would tell them that time changes everything, that's why the only constant thing in life is change. Unlike their days, now access to the global world is made possible through the continuous use of a smartphone.

We know that the use of smartphones for our personal quests are a great flex, but realizing how portable this device is a bigger flex. Because we can go anywhere and still perform operation on the device anytime.

Thanks for your time here.
