Canakkale >> Kabatepe Beach - Korean Grandpa - Fish Restaurant | Eceabat | Beautiful Day Tour

(Edited)

Hello dear travelers, we went to the Eceabat district in the Gallipoli Peninsula, and in this post, we'll share our experiences with you. Our day was filled with visiting a secluded beach, dining at a fish restaurant, and stopping by a roadside produce stand. We had a fun and tiring day, and we'd love to include you in our exciting journey! If you're ready, let's start!

We discovered a wonderful, secluded place near the area known as Kabatepe Beach, which is about 30 km away from where we are. We parked our car by the roadside and went to the beach. The sea was incredibly clean, and surprisingly, not cold at all. After choosing a spot and setting up our beach chairs, we enjoyed the refreshing water. This place is located on the Aegean Sea, and compared to the sea near our home, it is remarkably cleaner and more refreshing.

Looks like Eren also like it

This area along the coastline is a less frequented spot by people, mainly because it's secluded and located alongside the highway. There are no facilities like parking lots or cafeterias here, and the nearest market is nearly 10 km away. Before coming here, there is a private beach named Kabatepe with more amenities, and that's where most people prefer to go. However, since it gets quite crowded there, we decided to venture further and see if we could find a different place. By sheer luck, we stumbled upon this gem and were delighted with what we found. Crowded beaches don't appeal to us much, and even the sea there seems to have lost some of its natural charm. The operators of that beach piled up sand at the water's edge for the convenience of visitors, removing any natural rocks. But as I mentioned, we find everything in its natural state much more appealing, and we were thrilled to have discovered this place.

The view of the beach is like this, with its enchanting beauty, and there is no one around.

As you can see in the photo, there are three more cars parked by the roadside along with ours, but the beach is so vast that everyone is enjoying the sea at different distant points from each other.

After coming out of the sea, we sunbathed for a while, and Lera collected some beautiful natural stones. We plan to take these stones to Norway with us, since Eren has an aquarium hobby, and maybe we will use the stones there in the aquarium if we decide to set one up.

After spending around 2 hours there, we started feeling hungry and decided to head to the nearest town center to eat fish in any restaurant. The area with fish restaurants was charming and attractive, situated by the sea with a walkway along the shore. We parked our car there and took a short stroll, capturing some beautiful photos for you to enjoy.

After passing through the wall-like barrier, you come across a row of 4-5 fish restaurants.

We chose the most beautiful restaurant that caught our eye and sat down, placing our orders. While waiting for our orders, we were enchanted by the view from the restaurant, and we wanted you to see these sights as well.

We preferred for the famous boneless sardines, which are known for being fresh during the summer. After our orders arrived, we enjoyed our meal, and the fish was truly delicious. The vegetables they served with it were also fresh and delightful. We paid a total of 185 TL for two fish sandwiches, cola, and water, which I believe was quite reasonable considering the taste.

Korean Granpa's Place

On our way back home in the car, we noticed that 3-4 cars were parked on the side of the road near a large mobile seller selling fruits and vegetables. We decided to stop there and buy some fruits to eat on our way. This place must be quite famous, as even after we stopped, 3-4 more cars parked here. The fruits looked so fresh and tempting that while putting them in the bag, I noticed they had kept them in fridge because they were cool. It was a great idea since the weather was hot, and eating chilled fruits turned out to be a delightful experience for us.

We have completed today's trip just like this. It was a fun-filled and enjoyable day, and even though we were a bit tired, it was all worth it. Finally, when we got home, Eren's dad had prepared roasted corn on the barbecue, and we enjoyed that as well. We appreciate the interest you have shown in our posts; your comments are a great source of inspiration for us, and we can't wait to prepare our next content!

I was in Eceabat and Gelibolu in April, when the Anzac Day commemaration is held in that time of every year. I can say that I didn't like the side of Çanakkale strait. The side whick looks towards Aegean sea, like Anzac Cove, is more beautiful. You can check the two posts on my blog.

Hey thanks for stopped by, we also visited Anzac side and it'll be published soon. I think every part of the Gallipoli Peninsula has its own unique beauty. Since my I spent a lot of time here, it holds a special charm for me. Exploring places like Komur Limani, Kemikli, Kabatepe, Kilitbahir, and Eceabat brings me a sense of peace. Regarding the area you mentioned that you didn't like, is it the direction towards Gelibolu? In that direction, you mostly come across a few villages and that's all, and I agree that it doesn't offer much appeal in terms of sightseeing. Eceabat and the Seddulbahir area are much more enjoyable, indeed!

I mean the centre of Eceabat. Actually, I didn't like the sea, (I don't like Marmara Sea anyway) and it was too windy. However, the Aegean Sea side was calm.
