My Vision Board Contest - One Board to Rule Them All !

Let me be completely honest. I'm scared of visions, resolutions. I cannot make them true, they often slip away from my grasp. And I, the fool, keep dreaming! So, seeing the contest, my first thought was, oh hell, do I dare? or do I skip it and keep the damn visions to myself?

Anyway, as you can see, I decided to go through it. What topics and ideas are permitted to put on the board? I don't know. The boards I have seen so far are random. So, I'm hopeful these will go unnoticed among the chaos!

BEHOLD!

1 — Proust's In Search of Lost Time

Classic literature is tough. But they are often quite small in size. That cannot be said about Proust's In Search of Lost Time, the longest novel ever written (about 4200 pages). The sheer size of the work kept me away from it all this time. I really want to pick it up.

2 — Joyce's Ulysses

I've tried to read this behemoth of a book many times now and each and every time it drove me away. Why do I bother? Oh, it is considered as one of the finest literary work this world has ever seen, I simply can't ignore it, can I?

3 — Learning French at least to the B2 level

I secretly want to be a polyglot but as the days go by, it's becoming clearer to me, my love for languages does not run that deep. Still, I want to learn a few languages like French and German. French for now, as I might move to a french speaking locality and I want to see the French films without subtitles!

4 — Making my first feature film

I don't think this needs any explanation.

5 — Writing my first complete novel

Getting a bit ambitious now, ain't I? Well, it's a vision board after all.

6 — Learn to play the violin

Every time I listen to someone playing a tune on a violin, I feel the urge to pick one up and start playing right away. Sadly, I also know very well how hard it is to learn the instrument and the commitment it requires, still, I'm gonna give it a try.

7 — Meeting Herzog and Scorsese while they're alive!

This is more like a fanboyish dream than a vision but it is important to me. Martin is the greatest cinephile alive and Herzog has been a mentor to me. Although both of them are elderly gentlemen and I hope I will have the chance while there is still time!

8 — Building my personal library

I don't read books in their physical form much but to have a vast personal library that makes people envious? Hell yes! Also, I have an ulterior motive. It might come to a point where charging your e-readers will be impossible.

9 — Making a permaculture food garden

Mostly to support me and my family in the future. Also, homegrown veggies and fruits are unmatched as long as health concerns are involved.

10 — Building a lake house

Just look at the photo. Does it not appeal to you? Are you a monster?
I imagine late afternoons, me in an armchair by a lake, reading books. Playing the violin. Fishing.

11 — Surviving the climate change

Not sure whether humanity will survive or not but if it's possible, it'd be nice to live! With my library, food garden, lake house, violin, and all.

12 — Attaining immortality

Can this be a vision? Why not? There are biologically immortal species and the scientists are working hard with stem cells and other methods. No, I won't get bored. Speak only for yourself mate.

As you can see, from each point to the next, the goal has been a harder one than the previous one. I wanted to make it so.

The contest requires me to tag a few friends who might also be interested. So I'm tagging -
