That night, deafening howls could be heard coming from the cold mountains, just when something was about to happen, according to the advice of the villagers down the hill. The sky shed glittering tears that impacted cruelly on the willows that adorned the entrance of that gloomy place.

Upon entering the main hall, one could perceive smells whose fragrances were confused, because it was full of floral arrangements, wreaths and candles with a faint flame and scarce vapor. In the center, there was a fine mahogany coffin, made by the best craftsmen, in honor of Sagrario, who had died in strange circumstances.

Subtle moans and shy cries, for brief moments let out a cry in the middle of the rosary led by Ceferina, the town's pray-giver, and friend of the late Sagrario.

Sagrario, was a noble man, loved for his gift of people and of good social standing. One of the most distinguished in the village. Lately, he was rarely seen, apparently he had been abandoned without any explanation. He was left alone in that big house, despite having raised a beautiful family.

On the morning of November 2, on the day of the dead, he was seen for the last time wandering around, ragged and out of his mind. Apparently drunk, zigzagging through the cobblestone streets of the colonial zone. A vehicle ran over him, unable to avoid him, given the gait he was making.

When night came, the doors of the funeral home closed and the mourners left the place, leaving only Sagrario and Candelaria, her friend, who would say her prayers to help him depart in peace. She, contemplated him and wept sobbing, because there were no witnesses to prevent her from venting her deep pain.

Already exhausted, almost at midnight, she felt the need to rest for a while to be able to continue with her ritual of prayers. As she went up to the second floor where the resting room was located, she remembered the beautiful moments shared with her deceased friend. Filled with sadness, she lay down on the bed, placed her rosary on the bedside table and went to wash her face, worn out by so much suffering.

She went to close a window at the foot of the bed, because the air was very cold. As he was about to close the curtain, he noticed something very strange in the backyard of the funeral home. It looked like a horse-drawn wagon from the Victorian era. He was curious and decided to go downstairs, taking advantage of the fact that only the attendant was there.

Everything was dark, when a great ray of lunar light, allowed him to see a large hearse very old, with glass windows and wood carved with diabolical images. Inside, there was a half-open sarcophagus covered in shiny black velvet, like a wolf skin.
Frightened, she fled up the stairs and reached the room where Sagrario was lying, but... He was not inside, the coffin was empty!

Without understanding, and gripped by terror, she looked for the person in charge asking for an explanation, but everything was closed. Again, he heard the chilling creaking of the door hinges behind him. He stopped as he felt a faint, cold breeze, he wanted to run, but his feet were tied to the floor as if lead shackles had been hung from them. Her heart pounded along with her veins that almost jumped out of her body. Suddenly, hands rested on her shoulders, they were freezing, she turned abruptly and immediately, the orbits of her eyes burst when she recognized Sagrario's face, losing her senses...

It was dawn and Candelaria was inexplicably back in the room. She got up violently, ran down the stairs to get to the living room and he was there, she went out to the backyard and there was only grass and ruins, where she had seen the carriage. Candelaria looked for her rosary to invoke protection to her saints, but she remembered that she had left it on the bedside table because she had forgotten it.

When he entered the room he did not find it, he began to search through his memories, he looked out the window and to his astonishment, the carriage was there, impeccably polished, with the coffin inside and the windows fogged perhaps by the morning dew.

She went back down to the salon without her rosary, when the relatives of the deceased began to arrive. In view of this, she quickly went upstairs to get ready, as she was emaciated and without a hairdo. At the sink, she let the water run until it became lukewarm, she frantically wet her face and when she looked at herself in the mirror, she was even more horrified, because her face was not reflected, this time she poured very cold water to feel that she was not asleep, and she noticed a small blood stain on her white blouse. She did not know what was happening

When she heard the voices of the people, she approached to say her last goodbye to Sagrario. Her face was serene, her lips half-open and her hands ... Her hands were tightly gripping Candelaria's rosary!
