You’ve probably always tried this particular McDonald’s menu item whenever you visit the restaurant. But there’s one item I really love there: hash browns. Hash browns are made from grated potatoes that are fried; they’re typically oval-shaped and fried until crispy.

In my opinion, hash browns are one of the most delicious potato dishes—they’re absolutely amazing even when simply dipped in sauce. So, what if we made these hash browns at home? The taste would be similar, but this might just be the best-tasting, budget-friendly version.

As a potato lover, I’ve naturally found a recipe hack that you can try at home. I’m really excited about this, and I have to try it right away—in my opinion, this is a super easy potato dish to make. And of course, anyone can give it a try. Curious? Let’s check out the recipe below.

Ingredients

300 grams potatoes
1 egg
3 tablespoons cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon mushroom bouillon

Preparation Instructions

Prepare the potatoes: Clean them first, wash them thoroughly, then boil them in boiling water for about 5 minutes.

Once cooked, the hash browns are absolutely beautiful—golden brown and evenly cooked. The outside is super crispy, and the inside has a soft potato texture—I really love this combination. As for the taste, need I say more? It’s incredibly delicious, savory, and has a very distinctive aroma.

Dipping them into mayonnaise mixed with chili sauce is, in my opinion, extraordinary. Even though I was afraid of failing at first, it turned out great, and the taste is very similar to the original. I love this combination—you have to try it right away.
