Pearl Sago Young Coconut Soup Easy To Prepare

Coconut is one of the trees that is very much found in the area where I live, to be precise in the front and back yard in the area far from the pond there are very many coconut trees, so the fruit is very abundant. Sunny days are the right days to harvest coconuts, usually the harvest is done by buyers who come directly to pick the coconuts from the tree. Yesterday they came and harvested quite a lot of coconuts, they bought them for IDR. 1,200 per fruit. This time the price was quite cheap, they said that the weather was currently extreme, consumer interest had decreased, market prices had dropped drastically. Usually they buy old coconuts, but if we ask them they will pick young coconuts. So because that day I wanted young coconut soup, I asked them to pick some young coconuts.

Choosing young coconut to make this soup must be right, young coconut that is not too soft and not too hard is the right choice. Not only that, the quality of the taste produced by the young coconut soup will also be different, this will be greatly influenced by the young coconut you choose. Actually making this soup isn't that bad without the sago pearls. But pearl sago will be very good for your stomach so this is the right combination. Besides that, the young coconut soup will look very charming if you add sago pearls, the soup will be pink, a very soft and charming color.

  • 1 liter of young coconut water
  • Young coconut meat from 2 coconuts
  • 100 grams of pearl sago
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar

Preparation Steps

Step 1

I started by preparing the whole young coconut flesh, by grating the young coconut with a spoon.

Next, cook the young coconut water in a saucepan, after it is a little hot, add the pearl sago.

Then, I added 2 teaspoons of salt, then 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar or according to your taste.

After everything is mixed, then add the shredded young coconut meat and cook until everything boils.

Cook until it's really cooked, well here I don't really like overripe pearl sago so after 2 times boiling the soup I immediately lift it.

Because it can soothe your body, did you know that young coconut soup is one of my family's favorite dishes. Usually my mother serves young coconut sago pearl soup, when I have a fever or have no appetite. My mother always said, pearl sago and soup is a good combination to neutralize the stomach when the body is not fit, so mother always prepares this dish when the condition is sick.

If you don't like sweet soup, you can skip adding sugar. You can add just salt for this dish, or a squeeze of lemon if you like it will also be very delicious. Did you know, the original young coconut water will give a perfect sweet taste sensation so without other sweeteners it will be very delicious.

Pearl sago is one of the food ingredients in the form of flour processed from the sago plant (rumbia tree), it is very delicious and very nutritious for stomach health. In Indonesia, to be precise, in some areas sago is used as a staple food to replace rice.
