@sixflyingdragons is a 50 episode, 1 season korean series released from 2015 to 2016. This may be one of the best korean series i have watched so far, i like watching korean but this is totally different and if you are a sword and historical series lover, you will also love this movie. its full of action, conflict, betrayal, funny characters and assassination.
PLOT
The story tells about the foundation of the Joseon dynasty in the Korean Peninsula, and the ambitions, success and conflicts of several real and fictional characters, with a focus on the young Yi Bang won.
highlights on the series and characters
I'll be highlighting on some of the character that played major role in the series because they are many.
The title "Six Flying Dragons" refers to the six key people who were instrumental in founding the Joseon Dynasty according to my research after watching the series. The drama follows how they started as allies with the same goal, and then slowly became enemies as power, ideology, and revenge got in the way.
The Setting and Main Conflict
The Goryeo Dynasty is collapsing. The country is corrupt. Powerful aristocratic families control everything, the king is weak, and foreign forces like the Mongols are attacking the borders. The people are suffering from heavy taxes, injustice, and constant war.
Into this chaos steps Yi Seong-gye, a respected general who has spent his life fighting to protect the country. Alongside him is Jeong Do-jeon, a brilliant scholar and strategist who believes the only way to save the nation is to completely tear down Goryeo and build a new country based on law, merit, and Confucian values.
Their goal is to create Joseon, a new dynasty that puts the people first. But to do that, they need allies, soldiers, and people willing to get their hands dirty. That is where the other "dragons" come in.
Yi Seong-gye: The father figure. He is a war hero and the man who will eventually become King Taejo, the founder of Joseon. In the beginning he is honorable and just wants to protect the country. But as the story goes on, he becomes older and more indecisive, caught between his sons and his advisors.
Jeong Do-jeon: The brain of the revolution. He is the one who designs the laws, government structure, and philosophy of the new Joseon. He believes in an ideal nation where power is not in the hands of one king or one family. He is smart, cold, and absolutely committed to his vision. He sees Lee Bang Won as his best student at first.
Lee Bang Won: The 3rd son of Yi Seong-gye. He is the main character and the most complex one. He is extremely smart, a great tactician, and also a skilled fighter. He helps his father and Jeong Do-jeon overthrow Goryeo, but he has his own ideas about how Joseon should be run. He believes a strong central king is needed for the country to survive. He is willing to do anything, including betrayal and bloodshed, to make sure the new dynasty is stable. His journey from idealistic prince to ruthless king is the heart of the drama.
source:tenorLee Bang Ji: Lee Bang Won’s younger brother. He starts as the moral center of the group. He is loyal, kind, and believes in his brother and in Jeong Do-jeon’s ideals. But as Lee Bang Won becomes more ruthless, Lee Bang Ji is forced to choose between family and what is right. His conflict with his brother becomes one of the most tragic parts of the story.
source:tenorMoo-hyul: The sword. Played by Yoon Kyun-sang. He is a silent, deadly warrior who was trained as an assassin. He barely talks for the first half of the drama. He fights for the people who treat him with respect. His loyalty shifts between characters, but he always fights for justice in his own way. He is in most of the major action scenes and is considered the best fighter in the show. His duels are slow, tense, and feel very real.
source:tenorBoon-yi: The heart and the revenge story. Played by Shin Se-kyung. She starts as a young girl whose family is killed by corrupt officials. She is taken in and trained to become an assassin. Her goal is revenge. Through her we see how ordinary people are affected by the politics and wars of the powerful. She grows from a victim into a strong woman who makes her own choices, even if they are painful.

There are so many swordsmen in the movie, filled with action and many other but the best fighting scene that i like was when gil tae mi became ruthless and all the army in the city couldn't stop him, dang sae has to step up but what made me laugh was moo hyul, he was like let me step up but he was scared, gil tae mi was killed by dang sae and named TOP SWORDSMAN of goryeo. it was a hell of a battle. i wasnt expecting gil tae mi to use sword this good because he act like a woman
