Chand Raat Blog 2024

Hi everyone. How are you all?
Hope it's very well. I hope everyone achieves the best from everyone's place. In this short life, we all hope to live in the other's mind through work. Today I have appeared with a slightly different blog, Chand Raat's blog.

Why is it called Chandraat?

Generally, Muslims have 2 religious festivals in a year. One is Eid-ul-Fitr and the other is Eid-ul-Azha. These two Eids come after a certain period of the year. Muslims fast for 30 days continuously before Eid-ul-Fitr. I have posted some blog posts on how Bengalis observe the fast and what food they eat. However, on the last day after fasting for 30 days, a gorgeous moon rises in the sky, after which the moon sighting committee announces whether the next day will be Eid. The moon night begins after the announcement. This is the main point of Moon Night. Usually, the night before Eid is called Chand Raat.

How do bangali people observe Chand Raat?

Bengalis usually pray in new clothes on the day of Eid morning, girls wear new clothes. These are prepared in advance the night before. Those who work in the city go to the village to celebrate Eid with their families. Little children and girls apply mehndi on their hands together on the moonlit night. He who can give good mehndi puts on others. Many go out for a walk. Restaurants remain very crowded to this day. Those who are left to buy clothes and essentials flock to shopping centres.

How do I spend chand raat?

This year my student applied henna to me a few days before Eid. It was so beautiful. I am very happy with all that she has been able to give as a young child.

Mehedi design

Chand Raat starts at dusk, after the last Iftar. My parents went to the village for some important work. So I was responsible for making iftar that day. But my brother bought iftar from the market because I was busy with studies and other work. I cut some fruits which were previously stored at home and made lemon juice. There were apples, Watermelon and dates.

Chicken Vhuna and Paratha

My brother brought chicken bhuna and paratha, from a famous shop in our area that we often eat at. And the test is much better.

My brother loves colourful fish very much. He has his aquarium. Almost he buys different kinds of fish. That day he brought 4 goldfish before iftar. We submerged the packet that brought it into the aquarium water for a few hours.

Gold Fishes

The fish are swimming after being released into the water. I sat and watched for a while.

Feeling a bit tired after fasting all day. So I usually rest for a while after iftar. After taking a rest, I return to normal work.
Fireworks were bursting in the sky that day. Everyone was so happy. I was feeling bored at home. I thought I also wanted to go outside. I will buy something useful. Or eat something.
After walking outside for a while, I saw a shopkeeper sitting on the side of the road with some bangles stands . I needed this bangle stand a lot. I didn't find such a stand after much searching. By using such a stand, the bangles are organized, not lost and easily found. However, when I asked him about the price, he quoted a much higher price. I thought I'd look elsewhere and see if I could get it for less. If I get it, I will take it from another place or I will come here again. Whatever is said, is what is done. I went to the market but did not find such a stand anywhere. I came to this shop again. And bought the stand. Before buying, I was checking if everything was fine.

Bangles Stand

In Bangladesh, going out for girls on various occasions means having to eat fuchka. I am no exception. I also love to eat Fochka. After buying the stand, I went back to the Fochkar shop with a happy feeling. I ask the shopkeeper to make fuchka with more jhal.

Fuchka

Fuchka is very popular in Bangladesh for its sour and spicy taste. I prefer jhal more. The shopkeeper made a plate of fuchka by using a lot of chili as I said that. The shopkeeper gives me 2 types of sour chutney, sour and sweet. A chutney of tamarind, commonly called "tok" by Bengalis, is eaten with fuchka. It multiplies the flavour of Fuchka.

After eating fuchka, I felt very exhausted, so I went to another shop to buy ice cream again. From there I bought ice cream for me and my brother and went home. I came home and ate the ice cream in a hurry, for which no more pictures were taken.

That was the description of my Chand Raat. Chand Raat is as joyful as it is somewhat depressing because the 30 peaceful days of fasting ended on Chand Raat. Anyway, hope you like it. Thanks everyone for giving me time and attention.
