Hanging out at Cabrillo Beach on a Saturday

A Very Windy Afternoon

Even though the wind was blowing quite aggressively today I decided to take the little one down to the beach to play in the sand for a bit. We haven't gone down for a while mostly because of work, but also because the weather has been a bit crazy. We had a few rainy days and quite a lot of wind which can difficult at our local beach as it blows everything around including your towels and anything that isn't tied down.

Ricky seems to be casting a spell of some kind.

As soon as we arrived, @little-ricky found a large round hole that someone had dug up and immediately jumped in to start playing. He found a stick and began waving his hands around with his hair blowing in the wind like he was some kind of a wizard.

It's pretty funny at this age because now every time I laugh even a little bit at what he's doing he starts to ham it up big time. We are also at the age where he is copying every single thing that we say, so we have to be careful with cursing and such.

Digging for treasure

I was trying so hard not to laugh yesterday but had to turn around and cover my face because of what he did. He was running across the livingroom and rammed his leg into a chair. He immediately grabbed his leg, fell to the ground and started yelling "AHH! Fucking hell.. Shit! fucking damnit"

I turned to @afturner and said, "See, you have to stop screaming and cursing every time you hurt yourself!"

Amanda has a really bad habit of not paying attention while she bulldozes around the house doing things. I have quite literally never met a person who hurts themself as much as she does. In fact, she hurts herself so often, that I've been instructed to not even go over and see if she's ok. She always screams out obscenities for a good 5 minutes and then goes quiet. Usually at that point I'll call her and ask if she's ok. But never before.

Time to probe with a stick

Things have been pretty busy around here which it often is this time of year. That's really the explanation as to why I haven't been on Hive much over the past couple of months. On the upside, I was able to sell a little bit of Hive to help pay the bills when we had our little mini-pump.

I have to admit, every bull run I get a bit depressed when I see that Hive never really breaks out. It is also a little sad to see that Steem is not really that far behind us, even after everything we've been through. I suppose that's just the way things go! You don't necessarily have to be 'good' to succeed. That being said, success is a relative term. I was almost certain that Steem would no longer exist by now.

Getting tired of the sand at this point. He got some in his eyes and was not happy!

It was nice to get a break from everything and hang out in the sand for a bit. Sometimes you just have to let your eyes relax and look off into the distance for a bit. I hear there is an epidemic of myopia these days from people spending too much time inside and looking at the walls or screens just a short distance away. Apparently this makes your eyeballs elongate over time and makes you nearsighted. It is certainly happening to me. I went my whole like with perfect sight and have only started having trouble over the past couple of years.

This kid loves to hit everything with a stick

After a couple of hours soaking in some rays it was time to get out of here. I can only take so much of the wind feeling like an industrial fan blowing sand in my face and Ricky was getting really irritable. I can't seem to get him to stop getting his hands covered in salt water drenched sand and then rubbing his eyes. At some point he'll learn his lesson I suppose!

Time to get home and back to the grind! I haven't made a witness update post for March as there really wasn't anything new to report. Not move movement in either direction in rankings. I did have an issue with my local backup node which is currently offline as I troubleshoot some problems. I've switched over to the Privex node for now and should have the backup up and running soon. Thanks to all for your continued support!

I really love the beach.. We don't go down there as much as I'd like. I think I'm about ready for another Mexican cruise!

It's nice you decided to take little Ricky out to play. He sure must have seen movies as a wizard to act like that😆.

...and the cussing part is what I agree with. Children tend to learn that faster, hehe.

Glad to hear that things are going well. It looks like it was a very eventful day at the beach. My wife and I were at a softball game yesterday and the wind was definitely brutal. The temp was just over 40, but the windchill had to cut it down to the low 30's. It took us quite a while to warm back up. That's pretty funny about the swearing. I think that happens to a lot of young families! I've always had perfect eyes too, but recently I need cheaters for some really close stuff.

Oh man that sounds pretty chilly! I wonder if our little trip to the beach made us sick though. Both of us got really sick yesterday we were laid out for the whole day. It was a really fast illness though because we feel mostly ok today. Must have been some 24 hour bug.

I'm glad you are feeling better. I picked up strep somewhere a week ago and that knocked me out for a good 24 hours too.

Oh man. Yeah, I am glad to be on the mend side of it. I usually don't mind too much being sick, but I can't bear it when the sickness includes dizziness and nausea. It completely shuts me down.

Kids love to play in the mud and we see that kids are very happy to visit such a place and it is a must visit with families. One must give time to his family.

This is true! Sometimes you just have to carve out the time, even if you are busy.

Amanda and I have something in common. The difference is, I live alone in an apartment. I can hear my neighbors cough, so they can hear me. I curse at everything at the top of my lungs, often also about my own stupidity. Can't find my glasses, curse! Then they show up: they wouldn't dare hide any longer. Sneaky ones, often hide on top of my head!
Ricky is a good looking boy. Makes me think back at my two boys (and also sad, you know why).
I am reblogging and sharing this.

Oh man, I used to live in an apartment where I could hear the neighbors. It used to drive me crazy. You could hear each other's conversations. I am glad I don't have to deal with that anymore!

Sneaky ones, often hide on top of my head!

haha! I am even worse. Sometimes I am looking around for something that I have in my hand.

Lmao, the "he seems to be casting a spell of some kind," got me laughing.

I agree with you that we need to be very careful when we are around our little ones, cause they learn faster from our actions.

And it's also a good thing to take a break from everything, just breathe and enjoy the moment and I think the beach is just perfect for it. I've missed reading your post and I am glad I read this today.

This kid is a riot. He has a very strong sense of humor for such a young kid. I can tell he is going to be a real joker.

Yep, we all need to get a break from time to time.
