¡Hola hivers! Es un gusto volver a saludarlos, espero estén muy bien. Saludo especial a toda la comunidad de @music-community este es mi primer artículo en ésta comunidad, espero sea de su agrado y me dejen sus comentarios y recomendaciones. Hoy Quiero hablarles de mi amplio gusto musical, que va desde la música clásica hasta el reggaetón. Y les contaré como un violinista, con formación músical profesional se volvió fan de la música urbana.
Me parece algo tonto caer en la discusión sobre si algún tipo de género músical no es música de verdad. Esto es lo que siempre se ha dicho sobre el reggaetón y la música urbana. Pero pienso que todos estos géneros musicales diferentes y alternativos son expresiones de arte que merecen ser apreciadas. En esto se basa mi gusto músical. Soy un amante de la música en todas sus expresiones, así que puedo escuchar todos los géneros musicales sin ningún problema. Cada género tiene su momento para ser escuchado pero no se pueden descalificar entre si.
Desde los 11 años empecé mi formación músical en una orquesta sinfónica, ahí fue donde me enamoré de la música clásica. Siempre había pensado que la música clásica era aburrida además que eso es lo que la sociedad te hace pensar. Pero estar en una sinfónica me hizo descubrir lo increíble que es la música clásica y la capacidad de transmitir emociones que tiene este género. Mi compositor favorito es Tchaikovsky. Durante mi etapa como violinista tuve la oportunidad de tocar varias de sus obras, entre sinfonías y oberturas, pero también llegamos a tocar el cascanueces, una obra que en lo particular me gusta muchísimo. Mi obra favorita de Tchaikovsky es la Obertura 1812 porque fue una de las primeras obras que toqué como integrante de la orquesta sinfonica juvenil, significó la maduración como violinista y como músico. Además es una obra muy poderosa y hermosa.
Esa formación como músico me dejó de aprendizaje el apreciar todos los géneros musicales, ya que un día tenía que tocar música clásica pero al otro día quizás algo más latino y caribeño, así que esa diversidad músical me llevó a explorar aún mas distintos géneros musicales. Llegué hasta tocar con mariachi y para ese momento no me gustaba la música ranchera. Pero siempre estaba dispuesto a escuchar e interpretar cualquier género musical.
Ya hace algunos años que dejé la orquesta sinfónica, sin embargo mi amor por la música aun continúa. Veo a diario personas discutir porque no les gusta el vallenato o no les gusta el reggaetón o cualquier género, y está bien que no te guste algun género músical pero creo que no debemos ser despectivos ni denigrar a nadie por el estilo de música que escucha. Por muchos años he escuchado que la música urbana es "música de malandros" pero la verdad es que este género a sacado a muchas personas de los malos pasos y a posicionado a los latinos en lo más alto de las listas de EEUU. Muchos artistas famosos ya están haciendo colaboraciones con reeguetoneros latinos.
También debemos entender que cada estilo de música tiene su público específico y su momento. Por ejemplo si quiero ir a una fiesta a bailar no voy a escuchar Tchaikovsky. Creo que todos hemos tenido etapas en las que hemos sido fan de algún género musical y quizás ahora somos fan de otro. Yo pase por varias etapas desde escuchar mucha música clásica, hasta escuchar mucho rock, pop, reegueton, llaneras, vallenato, salsa, entre otros.
Hace un año hubo una polémica por la entrega del premio de Mejor Compositor a Bad Bunny y quizás siento que había otras mejores opciones, pero no se puede negar el alcance que tiene éste artista. Después de las críticas el sacó una canción llamada "El Compositor del Año" y es una canción con un mensaje de protesta muy poderoso y con un mensaje claro en los tiempos tan difíciles que vivíamos, que me hizo replantear muchas cosas y darle el mérito que merecía.
Quiero que seamos más abiertos a escuchar música nueva, música alternativa, sin cambiar nuestros gustos personales pero reconociendo el trabajo que hay detrás de cada artista, sea el género que sea. Si ven mi lista de música pensarán que estoy loco, además la tengo de forma aleatoria asi que pueden escuchar desde la 5ta Sinfonía de Tchaikovsky hasta Safaera de BadBunny.

Today I want to talk about my wide musical taste, ranging from classical music to reggaeton. And I will tell you how a violinist, with professional musical training, became a fan of urban music.
It seems a bit silly to me to fall into the discussion about whether some kind of music genre is not real music. This is what has always been said about reggaeton and urban music. But I think that all these different and alternative music genres are expressions of art that deserve to be appreciated. This is what my musical taste is based on. I am a lover of music in all its expressions, so I can listen to all genres of music without any problem. Each genre has its moment to be listened to but they cannot disqualify each other.
Since I was 11 years old I started my musical training in a symphony orchestra, that's where I fell in love with classical music. I had always thought that classical music was boring and that's what society makes you think. But being in a symphony orchestra made me discover how incredible classical music is and the ability to transmit emotions that this genre has. My favorite composer is Tchaikovsky. During my time as a violinist I had the opportunity to play several of his works, including symphonies and overtures, but we also got to play the Nutcracker, a work that I particularly like very much. My favorite work by Tchaikovsky is the 1812 Overture because it was one of the first works I played as a member of the youth symphony orchestra, it meant the maturing as a violinist and as a musician. It is also a very powerful and beautiful work.
That training as a musician taught me to appreciate all musical genres, since one day I had to play classical music but the next day maybe something more Latin and Caribbean, so that musical diversity led me to explore even more different musical genres. I even played with mariachi and by that time I didn't like ranchera music. But I was always willing to listen and play any genre of music.
It has been a few years since I left the symphony orchestra, but my love for music still continues. I see people every day arguing because they don't like vallenato or reggaeton or any other genre, and it's fine to not like any genre of music but I think we should not be derogatory or denigrate anyone for the style of music they listen to. For many years I have heard that urban music is "bad guy music" but the truth is that this genre has taken many people out of the bad steps and has positioned Latinos at the top of the charts in the US. Many famous artists are already doing collaborations with Latin reeguetoneros.
We must also understand that each style of music has its specific audience and moment. For example if I want to go to a party to dance I am not going to listen to Tchaikovsky. I think we all have had stages where we have been a fan of one genre of music and maybe now we are a fan of another. I went through several stages from listening to a lot of classical music, to listening to a lot of rock, pop, reegueton, llaneras, vallenato, salsa, among others.
A year ago there was a controversy over the award for Best Composer to Bad Bunny and perhaps I feel that there were other better options, but there is no denying the reach that this artist has. After the criticism he released a song called "Composer of the Year" and it is a song with a very powerful message of protest and with a clear message in the difficult times we were living in, which made me rethink many things and give him the merit he deserved.
I want us to be more open to listen to new music, alternative music, without changing our personal tastes but recognizing the work behind each artist, whatever the genre. If you see my playlist you will think I'm crazy, besides I have it randomly so you can listen from Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony to BadBunny's Safaera.
