The enchanted royal castle of Schönbrunn in Vienna
Vienna is one of those cities where the walk itself is a big attraction.
A city of beautiful preserved buildings with a handful of history, art, a city that shines with whiteness and golden elements on a sunny day.
While traveling to Vienna, I could not miss this great attraction and not visit this beautiful castle that radiates beauty. Schönbrunn is not just a castle, a large garden complex with flowers, greenery and fountains is truly an oasis in the middle of the city.
Entrance to the oases of greenery is free of charge, entrance to the castle is charged, the castle has a total of 1,441 rooms, but only 40 are available to visitors. I honestly didn't go inside because the space is so big that really just walking around the oasis of greenery takes a lot of time, I have the impression that I wanted to visit everything one day would not be enough.
By the way, this baroque-style castle takes us to the distant past, but the building I know dates from the 17th century. This property was once conceived as a place for hunting, or rather a hunting resort.
However, during the 17th century, Maria Theresa left her mark on this building, and Franz Joseph and his wife Elizabeth also lived there. Her famous nickname was "Sisi". I often liked to watch this movie, which is usually during the Christmas holidays, but this time I enjoyed the reality in all these surroundings of the castle.
The court passage, which is surrounded by roses, the roses are stretched on both sides on iron bars, which form a semicircle, it looks exceptional, so it really looks like an unusual passage.
Enchanted by the view of the palace and the oasis of greenery, especially in the summer season when everything is in bloom, the arrangements of the parks are so precisely made that each flower is in its place.
The space between the palace and the sun fountain is called the "Great Ground Floor". It consists of wide and long paths, which surround various statues.
There are thirty-two statues in this beautiful garden and they represent virtues, ancient deities. There are sculptures among others: Apollo, Mars, Kaliopa, Hannibal and Perseus.
Follow these paths straight to the fountain of the sun (Neptune's fountain).
This beautiful and large fountain depicts the god of the sea made of white marble, in a shell-shaped carriage, and next to him is the goddess Tethys, accompanied by a nifa and four sea horses.
Exactly at the place where I photographed the fountain, a carriage passed by which you can take a tour of this green space.
At the very top is the Pavilion of Gloriette, a building that is a symbol of respect for the entire environment of this castle. It is also the last building in the Schönbrunn Gardens.
It originally represented an observatory, and later a royal dining room. Can you imagine how nice it was to have lunch with this view of the entire property?
Gloriette can be entered from two sides, and above it you can see the inscription, erected during the reign of Emperor Joseph and Empress Maria Theresa.
Today, there is a cafe in it, where you can order something cold after a long walk, or a treat, the most famous treat in Vienna is the famous Sacher cake.
From this place there is a wonderful view of the castle and the flower garden, which in the summer days shows its charm.
It was named Schönbrunn from the spring of the same name, which supplied the entire property with water, and the meaning of this word is (beautiful spring).
This magnificent castle, with its size and oasis of greenery, yellow buildings in the Baroque style can delight everyone. Greenery, beautifully landscaped flower gardens, fountains are all reasons why I gladly return to visit Schönbrunn.

I am really surprised at how much Schönbrunn reminds me of Versailles in Paris! Such incredible grounds; I did the same thing: spent most of my time outside...
