Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un review de un anime que vi y realmente me gustó bastante, el cual se llama: Dororo. Dororo es originalmente un manga estrenado en el año 1967. Su mangaka (creador de otras obras como Astroboy, Kimba, el león blanco, entre otros) se llamaba Osamu Tezuka (3 de noviembre de 1928 - 9 de febrero de 1989). En la época en la que salió este manga, fue muy famoso.
Hello again! Today I bring you a review of an anime I saw and really liked it, which is called: Dororo. Dororo is originally a manga released in 1967. His mangaka (creator of other works such as Astroboy, Kimba, the White Lion, among others) was called Osamu Tezuka (November 3, 1928 - February 9, 1989). At the time this manga came out, he was very famous.
En 1969 se hizo una adaptación al anime el cual tuvo éxito. Para Enero de 2019 se hace otra adaptación gracias al estudio de animación "MAPPA" de este anime y además es dirigido por el gran Kazuhiro Furuhashi, director de grandes obras como Samurai X y Hunter x Hunter. Tuvo bastante éxito y recepción entre el público, ya que la temática que abarca es interesante y realmente buena. Estuvo catalogado como uno de los mejores estrenos de anime del 2019 junto con otros animes excelentes.
In 1969 an adaptation was made to the anime which was successful. By January 2019 another adaptation is made thanks to the animation studio "MAPPA" of this anime and it is also directed by the great Kazuhiro Furuhashi, director of great works such as Samurai X and Hunter x Hunter. It was quite successful and well received by the public, as the subject matter it covers is interesting and really good. It was listed as one of the best anime releases of 2019 along with other excellent anime.
Primer episodio | First episode
Considero que los primeros episodios son muy importantes, ya que es como el impulso que nos motiva a ver una serie completa. Haré un resumen del capítulo. Dororo comienza fuerte, un señor está sentado afuera mientras que una mujer está adentro dando a luz. Descubrimos que el hombre se llama o se hace llamar "Daigo". Va a un templo en donde encuentra a un anciano sacerdote, el cual le dice que abandonar a Buda para ceder ante los demonios es estar del lado del mal. Daigo sin ceder asesina al sacerdote, el cual duda si sus oraciones a Buda sirvieron de algo. Vemos como Daigo hace un pacto con los demonios a cambio de que su tierra sea próspera para que él pueda tener la fama y poder que quiere. Se retoma la escena del parto donde nace el bebé, pero ocurre algo. Aparecen rayos, y la marca en la frente de Daigo brilla.
Vemos a los demás asustados pero a la madre feliz, Daigo quiere ver al bebé y observa algo increíble: un bebé sin extremidades, piel, ojos, nariz, nada, pero está vivo. Daigo se da cuenta que ese fue el trato de los demonios. Daigo le exige a su mujer que debe embarazarse de nuevo para traer a otro heredero. Le pide a la anciana que estaba ahí que se deshaga del bebé. Lo deja en una canoa y vemos como un monstruo está detrás de ella. Un anciano ciego vence a este monstruo. También vemos una escena de un hombre que hace prótesis de madera, lo cual parece un acto benevolente de su parte.
Aparece una niña (o niño, realmente en ese entonces no se sabe), que vende artículos en un pueblo. Esta niña es Dororo, la que da el nombre del anime. Unos hombres bastante corpulentos la enfrentan porque al parecer estaba vendiendo artículos que debería cuidar, dándonos cuenta que una bandida por así decirlo. Mientras huye de estos tipos que la persiguen, logra esconderse un corto tiempo y encuentra a un perrito. Los hombres la encuentran y la golpean. Mientras intentan matar a la niña, notan a un joven viendo a la nada, sin expresión alguna. Aparece un monstruo de... ¿lodo? ¿barro? ¿basura?. Este monstruo devora a los hombres y Dororo intenta escapar pero el demonio la atrapa.
El joven la salva y vence al demonio con unas dagas que tiene en los brazos. Al vencer al monstruo, Dororo ayuda al joven a poner sus prótesis en los brazos, preguntándole muchas cosas. El joven parece que va a colapsar y se le cae el rostro mientras Dororo lo mira aterrada. La piel del rostro del joven se regenera. Daigo está en el santuario donde hizo el trato, bastante confundido. Vemos a la madre del principio con su otro hijo, y luego también observamos al hombre de las prótesis en otro campo de batalla, diciendo el nombre de "Hyakkimaru". Retomamos la escena de Dororo con el joven con el nuevo rostro y ahí acaba el episodio.
Realmente es un capítulo que nos deja con demasiada intriga y ganas de saber más, qué va a pasar, por qué ocurre todo y qué sucederá con los demás. Siento que empieza excelente y es una buena manera de dar al espectador ese toque de curiosidad en el desarrollo.
I consider the first episodes to be very important, as it is like the impulse that motivates us to watch a complete series. I will summarize the chapter. Dororo begins strong, a man is sitting outside while a woman is inside giving birth. We discover that the man is called or makes himself be called "Daigo". He goes to a temple where he meets an old priest, who tells him that to abandon Buddha to give in to the demons is to be on the side of evil. Daigo without yielding murders the priest, who doubts whether his prayers to Buddha were of any use. We see how Daigo makes a pact with the demons in exchange for his land being prosperous so that he can have the fame and power he wants. The scene of the birth of the baby is taken up again, but something happens. Lightning strikes, and the mark on Daigo's forehead shines.
We see the others scared but the mother happy, Daigo wants to see the baby and he sees something incredible: a baby without limbs, skin, eyes, nose, nothing, but it is alive. Daigo realizes that this was the treatment of the demons. Daigo demands that his wife must become pregnant again to bring in another heir. He asks the old woman who was there to get rid of the baby. She leaves it in a canoe and we see how a monster is behind her. A blind old man defeats this monster. We also see a scene of a man making wooden prostheses, which seems like a benevolent act on his part.
A girl (or boy, we don't really know at the time) appears, selling items in a village. This girl is Dororo, who gives the name of the anime. Some rather corpulent men confront her because it seems she was selling items that she should take care of, realizing that a bandit so to speak. As she runs away from these guys who are chasing her, she manages to hide for a short time and finds a little dog. The men find her and beat her. As they try to kill the girl, they notice a young man looking at nothing, without any expression. A monster appears... Mud? Mud? Garbage? This monster devours men and Dororo tries to escape but the devil catches her.
The young man saves her and defeats the demon with some daggers he holds in his arms. When he defeats the monster, Dororo helps the young man to put his prosthesis in his arms, asking him many things. The young man seems to collapse and his face falls off while Dororo looks at him in terror. The skin of the young man's face regenerates. Daigo is in the sanctuary where he made the deal, quite confused. We see the mother at the beginning with her other son, and then we also see the man with the prostheses on another battlefield, calling out the name "Hyakkimaru". We return to the scene of Dororo with the young man with the new face and that is the end of the episode.
It really is a chapter that leaves us with too much intrigue and desire to know more, what is going to happen, why everything happens and what will happen to the others. I feel that it begins excellently and is a good way to give the viewer that touch of curiosity in the development.
Desarrollo | Development
El desarrollo me parece muy bueno, comienza fuerte y nos muestran poco a poco las luchas que pasan Hyakkimaru y Dororo. El ambiente en el se desenvuelve el anime es bastante turbio y violento, donde había niveles de pobreza altos, se llama Era Sengoku entre los siglos XV y XVII. Aunque el anime se llame así, el que más destaca es Hyakkimaru, ya que tiene que luchar contra distintos demonios para recuperar las partes de su cuerpo teniendo que matar a 48 demonios por un pacto que hizo su padre.
Es una aventura de autodescubrimiento para ellos, ya que Hyakkimaru aprende a hablar, desenvolverse y agarrarle aprecio a las personas en las que confía. Dororo aprende a luchar sin necesidad de mentir, en un soporte muy importante para Hyakkimaru. La peleas están muy bien hechas, no son algo que aparezca de la nada.
La presentación de los personajes y su historia es muy buena, conocemos el pasado de cada uno y lo que tuvieron que pasar pqara llegar al punto donde están. Los dos protagonistas congenian de manera increíble y lo podemos palpar. Es increíble como Hyakkimaru aunque no posea sentidos, puede percibir si una persona es mala o no, ya que por eso deja Dororo esté con él, porque siente que es una persona pura.
Todo encaja muy bien, vemos como nuestro joven protagonista junto con la pequeña van creciendo mutuamente. Hyakkimaru es mucho más humano que los villanos que aparecen. Los personajes secundarios también son excelentes y no son dejados en segundo plano, ya que cumplen su función en la trama. Los villanos son perfectos, bien elaborados y se nota su esencia de maldad. En mi opinión, un buen desarrollo general.
The development seems to me very good, it starts strong and they show us little by little the struggles that Hyakkimaru and Dororo go through. The atmosphere in the anime is quite turbid and violent, where there were high levels of poverty, is called Sengoku Era between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries. Although the anime is called that way, the one that stands out the most is Hyakkimaru, since he has to fight against different demons to recover his body parts having to kill 48 demons because of a pact made by his father.
It is an adventure of self-discovery for them, as Hyakkimaru learns to speak, to cope and to appreciate the people he trusts. Dororo learns to fight without lying, a very important support for Hyakkimaru. Fights are very well done, they are not something that just comes out of the blue.
The presentation of the characters and their history is very good, we know the past of each one and what they had to go through to get to the point where they are. The two protagonists are incredibly compatible and we can feel it. It's incredible how Hyakkimaru, even though he doesn't have any senses, can perceive if a person is bad or not, because that's why he lets Dororo be with him, because he feels that he is a pure person.
Everything fits very well, we see how our young protagonist together with the little one are growing mutually. Hyakkimaru is much more human than the villains who appear. The secondary characters are also excellent and are not left in the background, as they fulfill their role in the plot. The villains are perfect, well elaborated and their essence of evil is evident. In my opinion, a good general development.
Personajes | Characters
Los personajes en general son buenos. Los secundarios aportan mucho a la trama. Jukai aparece como una figura paterna en la vida de Hyakkimaru. Le ofrece prótesis y le enseña cosas básicas. Este se encariña con el joven a medida que vive con él. Le enseña a pelear con espada y con las dagas de sus brazos para poder salir a un mundo lleno de violencia y demonios. Mio, aunque aparece poco, es importante para el desarrollo del joven para empatizar y descubrir sentimientos más allá, además de ayudar a nuestro duo y a niños huérfanos. Tahomaru, hermano menor del protagonista, es un ser rencoroso ante su hermano mayor ya que su madre siente culpa por que le pasó a su hijo mayor, Tahomaru se vuelve cruel a medida que avanza la historia hasta llegar a la redención. Otros más aparecen, pero hablar de ellos sería eterno, sin embargo, todos valen la pena en cuanto aparición en la serie.
The characters in general are good. The secondary characters contribute a lot to the plot. <Jukai appears as a father figure in Hyakkimaru's life. He offers him prosthetics and teaches him basics. He becomes attached to the young man as he lives with him. He teaches him to fight with sword and the daggers in his arms so that he can go out into a world full of violence and demons. Mio, although it appears little, is important for the development of the young man to empathize and discover feelings beyond, in addition to helping our duo and orphaned children. Tahomaru, the protagonist's younger brother, is a spiteful being to his older brother as his mother feels guilt for what happened to her older son. Tahomaru becomes cruel as the story progresses to redemption. Others appear, but talking about them would be eternal, however, all are worth it as soon as they appear in the series.
Dororo es una protagonista excelente, aunque opacada por Hyakkimaru en cuanto atención al espectador, no deja de darnos momentos memorables y un soporte para Hyakkimaru en su lucha por recuperar su vida. Es una niña valiente, directa y bastante inteligente. Bastante madura porque la vida hizo que tuviera que valerse por sí misma desde muy pequeña, el desarrollo emocional y de caracter que nos muestra es bueno.
Dororo is an excellent protagonist, although overshadowed by Hyakkimaru in terms of attention to the spectator, she does not fail to give us memorable moments and support for Hyakkimaru in his struggle to regain his life. She is a brave, direct and quite intelligent girl. Quite mature because life made her stand on her own feet from a very young age, the emotional and character development she shows us is good.
Hyakkimaru es básicamente el foco principal en donde gira la trama. Este chico al no tener partes del cuerpo fundamentales, no puede escuchar, ver u oler nada, sin embargo puede percibir la energía de las personas para saber si son buenas o malas, así también detecta a los demonios. Al no mostrar emociones físicamente parece un ser frío, pero internamente es alguien que sufre mucho, y es muy luchador. Es desenvolvimiento de su personalidad, carácter y motivos para seguir luchando.
Hyakkimaru is basically the main focus where the plot turns. This boy, not having fundamental body parts, cannot hear, see or smell anything, however he can perceive the energy of people to know if they are good or bad, thus he also detects the demons. By not showing emotions physically he seems to be a cold being, but internally he is someone who suffers a lot, and is very combative. It is a development of his personality, character and reasons to keep fighting.
Daigo es el antagonista principal. Realmente bien elaborado, con una sed de soberbia, poder y egocentrismo increíble, poniendo la vida de su primogénito con poco valor con tal de tener el poder que quiere. Bastante frío ante la presencia de su primer hijo, y es principal causante del odio que tiene Tahomaru contra su hermano mayor. Intentando cambiar su destino en vano, vemos como va sancando su lado cobarde poco a poco, haciéndolo de un villano excelente con un final excelente.
Daigo is the main antagonist. He is really well elaborated, with a thirst for pride, power and incredible self-centeredness, putting the life of his first-born son with little value as long as he has the power he wants. He is quite cold in the presence of his first son, and is the main cause of Tahomaru's hatred for his older brother. Trying to change his destiny in vain, we see how he is healing his cowardly side little by little, making him an excellent villain with an excellent ending.
Animación | Animation
Realmente no soy la mayor fan de la animación de esta serie, siento que decae un poquito a medida que avanza el anime, pero no es molesto visualmente. Todo esta dirigido por el estudio MAPPA, el cual ha animado obra como Yuri! On Ice y Banana Fish (además de animar la última temporada a estrenar de Shingeki no Kyojin).
Las coreografías, paisajes, detalles anatómicos están muy bien hechos, la presencia de los personajes está muy bien dibujada. Los movimientos no me agradan tanto ya que son mecánicos en algunas ocasiones por así decirlo, pero tampoco me disgustan puesto a que el anime tradicional no es tan diferente. Hacen buen uso de la paleta de colores, dándole un ambiente algo oscuro y gris, buen uso de los planos en momentos precisos y ángulos correctos para mostrar lo que sienten los personajes. No tengo quejas mayores acerca de ello.
I'm not really the biggest fan of the animation in this series, I feel that it declines a little bit as the anime progresses, but it's not visually annoying. It's all run by MAPPA studio, which has animated work like Yuri! On Ice and Banana Fish (as well as animating the latest season of Shingeki no Kyojin).
The choreography, landscapes, anatomical details are very well done, the presence of the characters is very well drawn. I don't like the movements as they are sometimes mechanical, so to speak, but I don't dislike them either, since traditional anime is not that different. They make good use of the color palette, giving it a somewhat dark and gray atmosphere, good use of the planes at precise moments and correct angles to show what the characters feel. I have no major complaints about it.
El primer Opening viene de manos de la banda Queen Bee, la canción se llama Kaen. Tiene un ritmo ameno y una letra bastante melancólica. Realmente siento que abarca muy el anime que va dirigido. La animación de este opening es muy buena, nos trasmite lo que sienten los personajes, la aventura que llevan a cabo y el turbulento ambiente en donde en donde se encuentran.
El primer ending viene por Amazarashi, la canción se llama Sayonara Gokko. Cumple el cliché de opening movido y ending lento, algo triste. La animación parece de dibujos básicos unicolores, como si fuesen solo trazos. Realmente bueno, trasmite imágenes amenas, un ritmo lento, y realmente varias emociones.
The first Opening comes from the band Queen Bee, the song is called Kaen. It has a pleasant rhythm and quite melancholic lyrics. I really feel that it encompasses very much the anime that is directed. The animation of this opening is very good, it transmits us what the characters feel, the adventure they carry out and the turbulent environment where they are.
The first ending comes by Amazarashi, the song is called Sayonara Gokko. It fulfills the cliché of a moving opening and a slow, somewhat sad ending. The animation looks like basic single-color drawings, as if they were just strokes. Really good, it transmits pleasant images, a slow rhythm, and really several emotions.
El segundo opening lo trae Aian Kung-Fu Generation, una banda de rock que realmente ha hecho canciones para varios animes considerado legendarios, como Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist y Naruto. La canción se llama homónima al anime, "Dororo". Tiene un ritmo movido, bastante agradable a mi parecer, y una animación que nos deja en mucha intriga de lo que pasará en esta segunda mitad de la historia. Realmente bueno, que no provoca saltarlo en opinión personal.
El ending número 2 viene del artista Eve, con el tema Yamiyo. Tiene un contraste con el opening que nos presenta, ya que es bastante lento y con una melodía que nos trae melancolía. La letra es algo triste pero con un mensaje bastante lindo, realmente encaja muy bien con lo que comunica toda la trama y es muy bueno.
The second opening is brought by Aian Kung-Fu Generation, a rock band that has really made songs for several anime considered legendary, such as Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist and Naruto. The song is named after the anime, "Dororo". It has a lively rhythm, quite nice in my opinion, and an animation that leaves us in a lot of intrigue about what will happen in this second half of the story. Really good, that does not provoke to jump it in personal opinion.
The ending number 2 comes from the artist Eve, with the theme Yamiyo. It has a contrast with the opening that it presents us, since it is quite slow and with a melody that brings us melancholy. The lyrics are a bit sad but with a pretty nice message, it really fits very well with what the whole plot communicates and it's very good.
Conclusion
Dororo es un anime excelente, tiene una trama peculiar, y desarrolla a los protagonistas de una manera muy precisa y no forzada. Contiene momentos emotivos muy bien construidos que nos hacen empatizar con los personajes e incluso, entenderlos en cierta forma. Siento que abarca mucho sentimentalismo de manera adecuada, ya que nos hace sentir algo de lástima por el duo, pero nos sorprende su fuerza, tanto física como emocional.
Las dualidades y contrastes entre el bien y el mal se presentan de manera muy buena, ya que observamos almas que se dejan llevar por los demonios y otras que luchan contra ellos. Los personajes secundarios no son llevados a segundo plano o son ignorados de ninguna forma, ya que son un pilar importante para el desarrollo de la historia y tienen algunos momentos clave en la trama y en la vida de los personajes principales y además, culmina bien. Recomiendo este anime.
Dororo is an excellent anime, it has a peculiar plot, and it develops the characters in a very precise and not forced way. It contains very well constructed emotional moments that make us empathize with the characters and even understand them in some way. I feel that it encompasses a lot of sentimentality in an appropriate way, as it makes us feel some pity for the duo, but we are surprised by its strength, both physically and emotionally.
The dualities and contrasts between good and evil are presented in a very good way, since we observe souls that let themselves be carried away by demons and others that fight against them. The secondary characters are not taken to the background or are ignored in any way, since they are an important pillar for the development of the story and have some key moments in the plot and in the life of the main characters, and moreover, it ends well. I recommend this anime.

Gran post, haces una muy buena descripción del episodio inicial, se ve interesante este anime del que nunca había tenido conocimientos hasta ahora, quizá lo busque más adelante. Por cierto, me causo algo de impresión que al inicio nombraras a Kimba, el león blanco, ya que solo se lo había escuchado nombrar a mi mama que lo veía cuando era joven.

Amo tu maquetado amiga, no leí todo el post siendo sincero porque no quería spoilear pero si la conclusión y lo técnico. Concuerdo contigo el opening es muy melancolico y me encanta lo que dices sobre los secundarios porque es lo ideal más siendo esta serie 1 un reebock y 2 una serie corta para darnos algo bueno.
Apenas la vea te digo y el opening lo escucho muchas veces además que vi una escena super triste en un video ahí por lo grupos de otakus que no se bañan xD.
