Here is my Watercolour painting from this morning. It is from Gros Cap Ontario looking out over Lake Superior in the distance ....

My Steps.

Steps 1: Lightly sketch outline of trees and rocks on heavy watercolour paper.

Step 2: Light wash over sky and snow ... yellow as underlay for Forest in background

Step 3: Add darker colours for rocks in foreground

Step 4: Add Pine trees with Payne’s grey, earth green and burnt umber.

Step 5: Add shadows on snow

Final painting ... still drying. I will also post a Timelapse video to show more of the process.

There is a face hidden here in the rocks.... can you see it ?

This is an ancient sacred site of the Anishinaabe .... Ojibwe/Chippewa in Ontario and Michigan.
