Original Watercolour painting and process - Winter at Gros Cap on Lake Superior, Canada
(Edited)
Here is my Watercolour painting from this morning. It is from Gros Cap Ontario looking out over Lake Superior in the distance ....
My Steps.
Steps 1: Lightly sketch outline of trees and rocks on heavy watercolour paper.
Step 2: Light wash over sky and snow ... yellow as underlay for Forest in background
Step 3: Add darker colours for rocks in foreground
Step 4: Add Pine trees with Payne’s grey, earth green and burnt umber.
Step 5: Add shadows on snow
Final painting ... still drying. I will also post a Timelapse video to show more of the process.
Stay tuned for more....
There is a face hidden here in the rocks.... can you see it ?
This is an ancient sacred site of the Anishinaabe .... Ojibwe/Chippewa in Ontario and Michigan.
