AI Makes You Less Creative, If You Let It.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. The evolution of technology has brought us really far; the world we are living in currently is something we did not imagine happening so fast. If someone told me things like artificial intelligence will exist in this year, I would argue it; this is something we pictured to come into existence in at least 2040 or thereabouts, but if they are already in existence now, I wonder what the year we thought they would come in would come with? The evolution of technology sometimes feels scary; it is like a moving train and waits for no one. You either jump on it or are left behind.

No doubt that the existence of artificial intelligence (AI) has had a lot of impact on our lives, and in every aspect of our lives as humans, it has affected academics, making research very easy and without much stress. It has even affected the medical aspect of lives as human beings, as many people, instead of going to the hospital to see an actual doctor, turn to AI for medical advice and even for prescriptions. It has affected many jobs; the other day a colleague at work who has a naming ceremony, instead of hiring a graphic designer, used ChatGPT to design an invite. Instead of downloading the invite as an image and sending us the image, he sent us the link.
Many people, when asked a question today, don't even want to attempt the question on their own; they just rush to any nearby AI application or website on their phone and allow AI to answer the question for them, so many people are slowly becoming less creative than they were before they started using AI because they now rely completely on AI. I have a friend who is a graphics designer; before AI, he could come up with an idea of what a client wants based on a description, and when presented, the client ends up loving it, but since he started asking AI for clues instead of doing so on his own, he can no longer come up with design ideas; rather, he would have AI do it for him.
I have had so many people around me use AI, and I have seen the impact it has on them. If you depend on AI too much, it takes from you, but if you can control how much you depend on AI, you get to take from AI and not the other way around. Controlled dependency on AI helps to beautify your work and makes it a lot better than it would have been when you do it all on your own. I am not saying the use of AI is bad; I am just saying depending on AI for everything and anything will cause you to not be able to come up with something on your own.
Rather than have AI do a start-to-finish for you, you can start it and finish it on your own, then if you want to modify it further or make it fit into the world that we live in currently (AI world), you can then have AI do some edits so your work can fit in and also stand out. Your idea plus AI edits will always be better than AI from start to finish.

We can still be creative if we want, despite living in a world filled with so much artificial intelligence; we just have to be willing to put in the work and not allow laziness to be the order of the day because the reason many people are no longer as creative as they used to be is because having AI do the job is easier and less stressful than them getting the job done, so to be creative in this world, one must be willing to put in the work.
I agree with your point, though I think AI can also teach creativity when used properly. Although people are likely to abuse it. Anyway, it was a good read. ❤️
That is the basic truth we need to know. It is only foe those who let it because I can't see it as a problem as long as I am using it foe my own advantage
Thanks
Sending you Ecency curation votes.😉

AI makes life easier and makes people less creative. People are supposed to be creative, naturally, not AI helping. Being creative brings productivity and results through.
My dear..Ai is making a lot of us lazy...it's not even hidden anymore
Me that used to design in canva before , I will just command chatgpt to design an image for me without stress🤦
Technology doesn't stop our creativity. Thanks for sharing.
