Creative Sunday: Student Rice and Stew.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another episode of our creative Sunday here in the Hive Learners community. Another Sunday is here again for us to share and put out our creativity for the world to see. We are forever grateful to the Hive Learners community for giving us the opportunity. It's been a while since I last participated in Creative Sunday, but you decided I wouldn't let today pass me by.

Today I prepared a student's kind of rice and stew. As students, we live by a budget, and if you go beyond the budget, you pay for it heavily. You spend recklessly over the weekend; you suffer for it during the week, so I decided to stay within budget and not break my bank, but I still enjoyed my Sunday in style. Since I already planned on preparing rice and stew but don't have enough money to get meat that would be enough for the stew, I opted in for eggs. After church service, I branched out to a shop nearby to purchase my eggs.

I got home and rested for a while before I commenced cooking. First, I washed my rice and put it on fire for parboil. While my rice was on the fire, I prepared everything I needed for my stew to help lessen stress when the time came. I sliced my onion and grinded my crayfish using a manual grinder in my room. My rice was ready to be washed again. I suspended everything else and attended to my rice. I sieved it out of the water; this helps to reduce the amount of starch that goes into the body as well as the preservatives used in the preservation of the rice.

I put my rice back on fire since I wanted my eggs boiled and did not want to waste time boiling them. I washed my eggs and added them to the rice, then I added salt to the rice to give it a better taste. After about 20–25 minutes, my rice was ready, and it was time to prepare my stew.

I rinsed my pot and put it on the fire to heat. It got hot enough, and I introduced groundnut oil to the pot and further added my onions and tomato paste. I fried my tomato paste until it was brick red, and I added water to my satisfaction. Then I added 4 cubes of Maggi seasoning and curry powder and allowed it to heat for about 10 minutes. While waiting for my stew to heat, I was busy peeling off the shell of my egg. After about 10 minutes, my food was ready to be served, which I did without wasting time since I had been hungry all day.

Hello @offia66 when making posts for Creative Sunday, we advise authors to use as much pictures as possible while also explaining every step taken to make that meal. But looking at your pot of stew, you only showed one picture of it and that was it. The whole post seemed like it was rush, thereby lacking some important details.
