How Did I Manage To Do It ?

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the hive learners' featured post. Every human being, at some point, must have done something they are proud of. We might have weaknesses and bad sides, but that does not mean we cannot do something we can boost and be proud of.

There are so many things I have done that I am proud of, ranging from sitting for Jamb exams, getting good results, and so many others. For this post I will be sharing just one with you, an incident that took place with my uncle. What he did really pained my heart.

Some years back, before I gained admission into the university, I was living with my uncle and running a remedial/predegree program. If JMB does not offer you admission, the remedial/predegree program can help you secure admission. It was more like a plan B.

My dad, and his love for his siblings, preferred to give my uncle money to do everything for me. He was given the money to purchase my form and also pay my remedial fees. He only purchased the form but did not pay my remedial fees. He called and told the home that he had done the needful. I had no phone then, so he was the only means of communication.

He used my remedial fees for his business with the intention of raising the money back in two weeks. Things don't always go as planned. The following week, his wife gave birth and expenses kept popping up and he could not raise the money as planned.

I was there thinking he had paid my fees until a list of those that had paid their fees was called out in class one Tuesday morning. I was shocked about not hearing my name. I went home and started asking questions, and he started shedding tears. He explained how it happened, but all his explanations fell on deaf ears. If I was your biological son, would you have done that ? I asked him and he stayed mute.

I promised to never forgive him for messing with my education. Even my dad won't do that, and I know if I were to be his son, he wouldn't do such a thing.

Luckily for me, Jamb offered me admission and I did not need that of the remedial anymore. We cut ties and never contacted each other again. We were in the same city, but I didn't visit him, though he kept pleading that I visit. Last year in December, I managed to let everything go and we are good now. I am proud that I was able to forgive him and just let everything slide. Till date, my parents don't even know such a thing happened.

Damn, your uncle was very wrong to have messed with your education but it's a good thing you were able to handle the matter in a matured way without involving your parents

If I had involved them, he will loose their trust and respect. That will be bad of me.

Forgiveness let you be free
And gives you edge over the offender
Forgiveness doesn't makes you weak

There are people like that who will always prey on freshers like that. Some do not even show remorse after their acts have been discovered. There are indeed a lot of characters in this world.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

A lot of freshers were victim of this, those that trusted their friend or one of those computer village guys.

Truly you are great because you were able to forgive. There are different types of different people in our world. Some are very nice people and there are some people whose behavior is intolerable. Thank you for sharing the story
