My kidnappers and I: Do you know Ronaldo is better than Messi??

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. This week's prompt got me laughing really hard. We all have things we know in the back of our minds that if we are given the opportunity, we will talk for days and never run out of points. Some are good with health talks, some, like myself, are good with sports, and if given the opportunity, we can talk and argue about different things under this topic. For football lovers, one never-ending argument and discussion is the one about who is better between Messi and Ronaldo.

Right from when we were very little and till date, we are still to draw a conclusion about who is better between both stars. You visit a viewing center, and you see boys almost at the point of fighting each other; at the end of all the arguments, they still won't be able to conclude. This argument about who is better is like a court case that keeps getting adjourned; if we had a judge on this case, he'd be tired of this case already. Even the young generation of football lovers argue the same thing; they too will grow up to our age without any conclusion.

The truth is, Messi's fans will never agree that Ronaldo is better than their greatest player of all time (GOAT). On the other hand, a Ronaldo fan can fight you if you try to convince him otherwise. So the argument goes on and on. In the case, I am kidnapped and need to talk until my kidnappers get tired of my company. I am bringing up this topic, and as a Ronaldo fan, I am standing firm and strong to defend my greatest player of all time to the last.

The only way a Messi fan gets to really shut a Ronaldo fan up these days is because Messi managed to win a World Cup at last. For me, that World Cup had some foul plays that showed Messi had FIFA's support. They might say I am saying this because I am a Ronaldo fan, but check up the statistics of the World Cup. The number of penalties they were awarded to Argentina gave them the record they hold today as the country with the most penalties in a single World Cup tournament. With every opportunity, the whistle is blown in their favor.

Ronaldo was the highest goal scorer for the year 2023, while Messi suffered from one injury to the other until their major league soccer season ended. Messi had about 28 goals for the year 2023, while Ronaldo had 54. A lot of statistics show that Ronaldo's work rate outstrips that of Messi, but you hear his fans say Messi is a playmaker while Ronaldo is a goal scorer, which is why Ronaldo has more carrier goals and Messi has more assists.

Messi has 826 career goals, while Ronaldo has 885 career goals. Messi has won over 43 trophies, while Ronaldo has won over 33 trophies. Messi has won eight Ballon d'Ors, and Ronaldo has been awarded the Ballon d'Or five times. For me, I will say every trophy and award Ronaldo ever won was well deserved and not given like his rival, just like the last Ballon d'Or he was given, not awarded. Even some of his fans confessed it was not deserving, as there were other players that really deserved it, but he was awarded the Ballon d'Or because of his heroic World Cup deeds. When it comes to football talks, we can go on and on. It was at this point that my kidnappers decided to kick me out of the moving bus.
