Putting together my broken dreams.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. It hurts when you realize that, for one reason or another, you won't be able to achieve your dreams. It hurts when dreams remain dreams and are not made a reality. Just a picture in your head and it only exists in your head will make it hurt even more, but in some cases you are forced to give up, and in others you stay determined and persistent despite being told that a dream will only be a dream with no hope of achieving it.

I grew up with a mom who loved cooking. I was always by her side in the kitchen, and it made me fall in love with cooking, and all I could dream of was becoming a professional chef. I held that dream close to my heart and was determined to pursue my dreams, become a professional chef, and own a restaurant of my own. After high school and college, I still went ahead to study at one of the best culinary schools in my country, still in pursuit of my dreams.

All my dreams were shattered to the ground when, after graduation from culinary school, I realized it was impossible for me to become a professional chef and even own a restaurant of my own since I have lost my sense of taste. The little boy with so many dreams was diagnosed with autism, and he watched his dreams fade before his eyes. All he could do was cry and wish for things to go as planned, but without his sense of smell, what will he be cooking for the people? With age, a chef cannot deliver as expected, and it will be a bad name for the firm, so I let the dream go.

Months later, he was advised to get his restaurant running but wouldn't be in charge; instead, he let someone else handle it, and so the dream chase continues, and I put together the broken pieces of my dreams. The restaurant was up and running in a few months, but instead of letting someone else manage and run the restaurant despite being a professional chef, he instead employed an individual whose only job was to taste the food and determine if the ingredients added were okay or not, this is one of the funny jobs you can come across, but at least a dream was achieved.

To make the work easier, I partnered with another professional chef. This made things easier as people travel from faraway places just to patronize us and have a taste of our delicacies. A dream life that once faded and disappeared into thin air is now the life the little boy is living. It takes a lot of determination to make it happen. Obstacles might come, but they will only push you down if you let them.
