The Difficulties That Comes With Being A Student And A Blogger.

Hello, everyone.

After running around the school yesterday to get some registrations done before deadline, I was opportune to glance at my calendar and I realized the year is already coming to an end. I still remember how we were wishing each other a happy new year; it actually still feels like it was just yesterday.

This year coming to an end shows that time really is not a friend of any man, and it waits for nobody. Anyone out there who is still relaxed, thinking time is on his or her side, is wrong. I'd advise that they get up and start working according to plan.

Going through social media, I came across so many posts of some friends sharing with the public that they had been offered admission into the university. The truth is, it doesn't end there. They must make up their minds and be ready for the stress that comes with being a university student. Universities on this side of the world are a place where only the strong and brave survive.

You can be happy that you are leaving home and that you will be free from your parents telling you what to do and what not to do. The truth is, with the amount of work load in school, you'd wish to just stay home and let your parents control your every action. For students like me who got involved in some other activities to help sustain ourselves in school and not depend completely on our parents, the work load is extra, but we still manage to pull through.

We got involved in other activities to help meet the demands at school, and at the same time, we must balance the scale between academics and these other activities. Failure to balance the scale means you will have to fail on one side, either academics or finance. The truth is, both are important, and you won't want to fail on either side, so balancing is a must.

Difficulties Associated With Being A Student And A Blogger

There are lots of difficulties associated with being a student and a blogger; in subsequent paragraphs, I will share those that I have faced.

  • Time Management: With the work load in school, you have little or no time for yourself, so adding activities like blogging to your everyday schedule requires knowing how to make good use of your time. You must know how to utilize every free moment that comes your way.

  • Forced to Pick One Sometimes: Sometimes you are forced to choose between blogging and carrying out a school assignment or test. They are both important (academics and finance), but you have no choice but to take one at a time.

  • Writers Block: Most times, after having a stressful day in school, you come back home and still try to write on the computer. You can't cheat nature because at the moment what your body needs is rest, and you will realize your head is completely blank. Sometimes you can have a picture of what you want to write about in your head, but you just can't put it down in writing.

You are very right and I totally agree with you. If one is not brave and strong, he or she won't be able to cope with academics and finance which are so important to our daily lives. One has to balance both together to survive and if not, he or she would definitely fail.

One of my role models on the hive platform concurred, sometimes I feel like giving up on the financial aspect but then I remember how the bills keep coming.

If I depend completely on my parents, I swear they will get tired of me 😂.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hahahaha... Our parents need to be relieved too especially when there are many children they need to cater for. One should pity them too because it's not easy.

Our parents are trying and we also should try our best to balance both too. God will continue to help all students and everyone who is struggling to survive.

You're right @offia66, university is not meant for the weak. You have to be strong and brave to carry out the academy activities well, couple with your online business is not an easy task. School and finance are important because the two are needful in your life.

Thank you for sharing.

Both academics and finance are important no doubt, it takes a lot to balance both.

Sometimes you feel like you have it under control but then you realize you giving one more attention than the other.

The time management is the biggest deal here, it's very hard to simultaneously handle the two, even though you're a pro in time management, you'll surely fall out one day.

Sometimes you can have a picture of what you want to write about in your head, but you just can't put it down in writing.

This is another issue, topic will be there but the brain will not the there to compose

Sometimes when this occurs I used to talk to myself out loud 😂😂. My roommate will think I am going mad but he won't understand.

Lolz🤣🤣. The only time it occurs to me is when I've been sleep deprived and I'll be feeling dizzy. I better close tab and sleep

The assignments keep coming, there was a day I did over four assignment only to get to class and see my coursemates doing other two I did not do.

I almost cried because I did not sleep at night trying to do the four I have done, now I still have to work on two extra. It's quite exhausting.

I'd take your comment as a little motivation to keep pushing. It's not easy to achieve dreams, I learnt to respect people who have achieved their dreams when I started chasing mine.

Being a student and Hiver is not an easy feat at all. It’s always a battle between your academics and Hive.

The rewards we earn here help keep us afloat and helps us handle some financial responsibilities of our own. That is what makes it difficult most times, especially when you’re going through a financially frustrating time but need to concentrate on school.

None the less, the fact that Hive is fun helps. Even when school is stressful, you can come to Hive as a safe heaven either to rant, or basically to just read articles and have fun. Hive has become a home to us regardless of the struggle we face to balance it with school.

Hive is more like a home to most of us, hive is where we run to whenever we feel stressed and want to ease off.

I can't lie, hive has been the back bone of my finances. Sometimes my parents wonder why I don't demand from them like my sister did while she was in school.

Haha I’m sure all of us Hivian students here have at one point or another had our parents wondering where we get the money we spend from. But the complexity of Hive makes it very difficult to try to explain, or for them to even grasp what we’re talking about. Hive is complex already for even the educated minds, so you can imagine how much of a different story it would be for the illiterate.

This is something I can definitely relate to, the school system in most countries, especially Nigeria, it is created to leave little or no time for yourself.

I remembered when I was just offered admission, the joy of leaving home was just so overwhelming, on getting there I realise the fairy tales about school are not real at all.

For a student to be able to manage his or her hustle and also succeed academically is not a small feat at all, sometimes the stress can overwhelm you to the extent it causes some kind of psychological distressed.

What about the unusual pile of assignment and unwarranted deadlines, it is a maze run, most times when I meet my friends who chose other activities over school and I hear them saying things like I had it easy by going to school, I just smiled and say you can't survive what I have been through, school life is survival of the fittest.

But eventually, with determination and persistency you will pull through.

Thanks for sharing.

Only the fittest alongside the grave of God can pull through, there's a lot of stress that comes after gaining admission.

I was very happy when I gained admission, later on after seeing one or two stress that put my back on the ground. I wish I did not gain admission but I am over it now, I have learnt how to deal with it.

Might I also add, you should read your post after you write it? If it's not interesting and engaging (would you want to read it, if you weren't the author?) then save it, and edit later. If everything you post is both eye catching and interesting, you'll find that rewards come easier. Would you rather spend eighteen hours writing to finance your needs, or eight? Truly, more isn't always better. If you just can't make that post work, enjoy reading and commenting with genuine comments, then go back to studying.

Are you familiar with Dreemport, by the way? It can both help you to get more readers as well as provide a supportive community :)

I feel the same way .. It's been tough for me lately
We can manage, this will teach us better time management but we should also remember to rest and recharge :)
Happy Holidays!

Resting actually goes a long way to help us recharge. Time management matters a lot.

Instead of post, you can go through some post and comment. Sometimes a comment can give more rewards than the post you write.
But are right, writing is challenging. It’s requires lots of energy.

Time is going very fast my friend and day by day we are geting very busy and that's what makes time fast. And time management is really difficult for being student and at the same time being a blogger and I cna understand it because I had been through.
