The punishment that came after every Sega game.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Trust me when I say that childhood was one of the best things that happened to us as individuals, especially some of us who, despite having very strict parents, still found a way to enjoy our childhood and then serve the punishment that followed it. I think childhood is one of the few times in our lives where we are genuinely happy and our every smile is not faked but rather very genuine, and then every cry and tear is also genuine until adulthood comes and things completely change, and now we wear a smile on our faces but are very sad on the inside.

There are many memories I still have about childhood that I still remember, and I find myself smiling sheepishly maybe because of what I did, a friend did, my siblings did, or something we did as a group. Many of the things we did as kids always had consequences, but trust me, most of the time we preferred to suffer the consequences rather than not do those things at all, and sometimes as an adult I am glad I did because I would not have had any story to share if I did not do those things despite knowing the consequences. Sometimes all that you need to enjoy your childhood is just to do those things that will attract those punishments, especially when you enjoy those things.

Growing up in a neighborhood where we lived as one big family, you were free and welcome to your neighbors' houses like they were yours. That even helped us offend our parents more because there were houses your parents might not have wanted you to get into, but because the family welcomed you and was not hostile, you found it difficult to pay attention to your parents' instructions. I had a friend, but for reasons best known to my mom, she asked us to stop going to their house, but then they came to our house, and we could not help but find ourselves following them to theirs, and no matter how hard we tried, it was something we could not resist.

My mom will scold us, and sometimes she flogs us, but then things got worse when my friend's dad now bought them this TV game called SEGA. Then, it was something that every child wanted to have then, even though the graphics then were poor, but we enjoyed it like our lives depended on it. You can play Contra 4, Sonic, Mortal Kombat, and a very slow football game on this Sega. Once we start playing that game, we don't even remember we have a house to go back to; we will be inside, and before you know it, everywhere is dark, and we start thinking about how to go back home and face our parents. That game caused me more trouble than it actually brought me joy, but I feel like the trouble it brought my way was actually worth it; I can go hours playing Sega without ever getting tired. We go from Sonic to football to Mortal Kombat and even wrestling.

I swear I laughed till the end of your blog especially when it got to this 👇

That game caused me more trouble than it actually brought me joy,

😂 Like I could not hold it in anymore. I remember one day when our neighbor had to follow us back home when we were crying that our mum will kill us cos it's very dark and we didn't know cos we were watching CDs and playing games in their house.

As in truly, those memories are worth it without minding the punishment over and over again. Best stage of man's life

😂😂

I am glad that I am not alone 😂. The way everywhere gets dark is amazing those days, you just play game or watch movie small and before you look outside again 😂😭

I can still relate those days. My mum would have locked all doors since she knew I used to come home late. Is one of our neighbors that used to help beg my mum that time. But I can't forget those flogging too

I'm not sure I know this Sega game. I doubt it.
But it's obvious you enjoyed the game.
