The Snake That Was Killed While Trying To Swallow A Goat.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you all to my blog. An amazing event took place in my neighborhood during the early hours of today. I was still a little bit sleepy when I started hearing noises and footsteps of people running to the scene. While in bed, I could hear a woman screaming on top of her voice, calling out for help.
I did not want to miss out. I immediately joined the crowd and ran to where the voice was coming from. On reaching there, what my eyes saw left me in awe because I did not expect to see such a huge snake anywhere near our homes. The woman begins to narrate her story.
She said her goats started making noise at around 4 a.m. but she could go to the loafing shed because she was scared and her husband had a night shift at his work place. She had to wait until around 6 a.m., when neighbors were awake.
She sent her first son to check on the goats while she prepared breakfast for them. According to her, the next thing she saw was her son lying on the ground. He had fainted after seeing the mighty snake trying to swallow one of their goats. Immediately, she ran out and helped carry him to her doorstep while she called out for help.
The snake realized it was in danger and had to let go of the goat while it tried to make its way to the nearby bushes. Some men were at the scene with machetes but were scared to go anywhere near the snake. They kept following its track while they waited for the hunter from the nearby village to arrive.
About 15 minutes later, the hunter arrived. He arrived quite late because the snake had entered a dry tree nearby. Getting to the snake meant cutting down this tree. He came with his son, so they joined hands and made a little opening in the tree. From the opening, you can see the snake.
The hunter said he was going to take the shot from the opening they made. He asked that the environs be cleared out. The environs were cleared out just like he instructed. He shot his dane gun twice. He said the second shot was to make sure the snake was dead. waited for about 10 minutes before he brought it out.
Even though it was dead, I could not go anywhere near it. I just took pictures from a few meters away and headed home. The hunter was paid, then he gave the woman a little token for the damage caused by the snake. He took the dead snake with him, saying he was going to use it for medicine.
I am not a fan of snakes, so I am left to wonder if this particular one is a python or another specie. All images were taken by me.
Thanks for reading my post.
It's really horrible, I wouldn't want to be in that woman's and her family's shoes, but I'm glad she was able to resolve the issue and everyone is healthy.
Many praised her for going to get her son, even I wouldn't dare 😂.
Oh my!! If I'm the boy I will faint too oo, ah!! That snake is huge, how can it be that greedy to want to swallow a whole goat, lolz.
The hunter and his son were really brave sha, they tried. I'm just happy the snake was caught.

It's scary to see such a big snake roaming around, but I'm glad to hear the goat managed to escape. I'd like to remind you that OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.
We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. This post for example would fit better in Daily Blog community.
Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.
Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.
Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse! Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
Corrections are noted, Incase of nevt time I know where to drop my post.
Thanks for stopping by.
It was a really scary experience. I hate snakes and am so scared of them. Surely I also would have fainted if I had seen something like that. Am so glad the situation was taken care of and the snake was killed
I doubt if there's anyone out there who fears this reptile more than I do 😂, maybe except for @hopestylist.
You're absolutely right about that 😂😂
